That night in his dream he remembers where he knows TE company from. It’s the company Jin went on a business trip to.
Jin arrived at the hotel, in a city in Lake district. The next few days he did his job. Every day he came in early and worked till late. That way the things that needed to be discussed were finished more quickly than expected. Jin finished the collaboration discussion withing a week, even though the trip was two weeks. After that a manager from the branch Jin was working at praised him for the good work and told him some other things. Unfortunately, that part of the dream once again becomes blurry, and Jin wakes up.
Jin processes the things he just saw in his dream. It’s a relief he finished job he was supposed to do on the business trip. On the other hand, it’s already more than a week later, so normally he would already be back in America, back at work. No one sent him an email asking why he’s missing though. Jin has no clue why, but he remembers Thorne telling him to just explain everything in person once he manages to get back, so he decides to follow that advice.
At breakfast Jin tells Thorne about how he came to England for a business trip to TE company and how he’s slowly remembering more things.
Thorne just calmly congratulates him and wishes him luck remembering the rest.
Over the next few days Jin’s life becomes pretty normal again. He keeps staying at the mansion with Thorne, and he keeps diligently working on the documents and tasks Thorne gives him. For some reason he also keeps getting that same dream that seems to be his memory over and over again, remembering just a little more each time.
Even though Jin has only been staying with Thorne for a week or so, he feels like he’s gotten to know some things about Thorne. Thorne doesn’t leave the house much. The only times he left the house were the first two days Jin arrived, after that he’s been staying inside. He probably only goes outside once a week or so to do shopping, but that’s it. No one has come to visit Thorne either, so it seems like Thorne was right when he said he would be all alone without Jin here.
Jin also picks up on some of Thorne’s schedule. It seems his observations in the first few days were right. Every day so far, Thorne went to sleep who knows when, much later than Jin, and every morning when Jin comes down, Thorne has already been up for a while. It feels like Thorne should have a huge lack of sleep, but he seems well rested. Furthermore, it seems once a week a cleaner comes by to clean the house, but the rest of the housework, like cooking, is done by Thorne. Jin feels guilty not being able to help. About cooking, even after a week, all they ever eat is vegetables, fruits and rice in various combinations. He finds it a little unusual, but maybe that’s just what Thorne prefers.
It also seems the rule about not even stepping outside the mansion was really serious. Jin tried to go outside just once, to go for a run, but that was the only time Thorne showed another expression than the poker face, and he sent him inside immediately, repeating he can’t go outside. That is another thing Jin has come to know. Thorne really doesn’t show any emotions, to the point where it’s frustrating. How is he so calm in every situation? Whether Jin does something right or wrong, Thorne’s expression doesn’t change at all.
Noticing even Thorne’s little habits, Jin notices he’s actually been looking at Thorne a lot over the past days and has been very interested in him. This is also most likely one of the reasons why he is frustrated that Thorne on the other hand is completely calm and doesn’t seem to be conscious of him at all. Jin doesn’t know why he’s so conscious of Thorne. Maybe it’s because Thorne is so different from himself, or just because he still wants to understand better why Thorne is helping him. It could also be due to how good-looking he finds Thorne, or because of the call he overheard and other small details that made Jin feel slightly unsafe.
Even though overall Jin thinks he’s mostly a good person, and he admires how much Thorne’s capable of at a seemingly young age.
But even when Jin thinks Thorne is a good person, sometimes he just can’t shake the feeling that it would be better to not stay here for too long. After all if something happened to Jin while staying here, no one would know.
For this reason, he also decides to figure out a way to get away from the house just in case, and he just hopes his doubts are wrong and he’ll be able to go back to America soon.
