I’ve seen the tears of Satan
They run in the painting of the Devil in my church
The single oil painted drop
That sculpts the painted face of the fallen angel
But have you seen the rain storm of his cries?
The thousands of drops
That hit the stained glass in my church
Those tears that run down the man-made Mother Mary
So have you seen the true tears of Satan?
I’ve heard the screams of Satan
In the sunday morning christan cartoons
The high pitched sound of a kid throwing a tantrum
When their parents kick them from the house
But have you heard his wails in the church organs?
The sound that makes the pew tremble
That makes the candles flicker
And the cross sway
So have you heard the true screams of Satan?
I’ve seen the eyes of Satan
Those yellowed goat eyes
From the posters in sunday school
That haunt the dreams of young children
But have you seen the glowing red of a church exit sign?
That color that taunts even the truest man so
Those signs that hang over every holy door
Sealing the church from cruel and corrupt world
So have you seen the true eyes of Satan?
Have you seen his evil signs as the church preaches?
Or have you seen his pain in the miracles of God as the world teaches?
