The next morning, Franky woke up early enough to join Magnus in his daily run. This was another shot at trying to hit on Magnus, but it was just a waste of time. The bloke’s head was just too dense.
He decided to start the pick up game with something strong in hopes of Magnus actually picking up on what Franky was putting down. “Did you know I’m a boxer? I’m an expert at giving blows to the head!”
“That’s really cool! Can you do any of those cool kicking things too?”
It didn’t work. “Yeah, they come in handy in the field.”
Franky was trying to come up with something else to use on Magnus, but it was proving to be hard to say anything that made sense and would show his interest.
“So uh, besides running do you like squats?” Franky decided to ask.
“Yeah. They’re good for the butt muscles.”
“How much weight can you squat?”
“I don’t know, probably two fifty. I haven’t done any in a while.”
“That’s impressive. Do you know the best way to spot someone during their squats?”
“Yeah right behind them but not close enough to interfere.”
“For extra safety, you should lie down underneath them.”
“I don’t see how that is safe. How are you supposed to help the squatter if things go bad?”
Franky gave up trying to be discreet and decided instead of brushing this one off he’d explain it to Magnus. “It was a sex joke. You watch from underneath them while they sit on your face.”
Magnus started to laugh, “oh that’s a good one! You’re funny.”
When the morning run came to an end, Kenny quickly collected Magnus to prepare him for coachfest. With Magnus gone, Franky went to find Saunquelle for their shooting lesson. He was supposed to do a recon on the town he and Mikey would have to go through later, but he figured he had enough time to bang Suanquelle and do recon.
However, he spent too much time talking to Suanquelle about his past and ended up doing neither. He didn’t open up about his past a whole lot, but she was curious, and he was hoping to get laid, so he’d tell her anything she wanted to know.
“You said you didn’t do anything wrong when you went to prison, but why were you in prison?” She asked as they entered the heavily forested woods.
“How much backstory do you want?”
“All of it. I want to know everything.”
“I was the oldest of three, and I came from a well respected family in the community. My family was known for helping out the locals, and maintaining good trade relations. I was openly bisexual when I realized that I was into men, and the folks of my town didn’t really care for it. They never bothered me though because they respected my parents.”
She interrupted, “that must have been terrible. It’s a shame they couldn’t just accept you for what you are.”
Franky just nodded his head and continued with his backstory, “When I was about eighteen, my mother got very sick, so instead of flying the nest, I quit my job as a farm hand and stayed home to take care of my younger siblings. The oldest of the two was five at the time, and the other three. My dad had to work the fields all day, so I essentially became a housewife. I did all the inside chores and took care of my mom and my brothers.”
Suanquelle again butted into the backstory with her own input, but Franky was willing to be patient with her. After all, being rude wouldn’t get him in her pants. “That was really sweet of you. Did the town still dislike you even after you did this for your family?”
“Their opinion of me never changed. There are just some things you cannot change about people Anyways, One day while I was out fetching some items we needed for the house, a fire started. I wasn’t there when it started and when I got back the fire was almost gone. And gone with the fire was my family. All four of them were burned to a crisp and nobody knows how the fire started.”
“That is so ghastly! I couldn’t imagine how devastated you were.”
Franky scoffed, “unfortunately I didn’t have time to be devastated because the town accused me of starting the fire even though I wasn’t even there when it started. They didn’t really like me and without my family’s influence there was nothing stopping them from trying to hurt me.”
“That’s just so terrible. Did you at least put up a fight?”
“I guess. I didn’t really fight, I just hid. The old farm hand I used to work for heard the news so he let me stow away in his barn for a while. However, the old man had a stroke, and I took him into town. Upon my arrival, I was arrested, but it was worth it to know that the old man got the help he needed.”
“Wow you’re such a caring person. I would have never guessed based on the way Kenny talks about you.”
“Kenny says a lot of things about me that aren’t true.”
