I am so happy to have reached 100 subscribers, so I decided to write a bonus episode for you guys. This will be canon information, and takes place before the current story. This bonus episode will have two points of view: one from Fly’s point of view and one from Mal’s point of view. I thought it would be nice for you guys to find out information about the two before they met each other. Fly’s point of view is while he is still in highschool while Mal’s point of view is the same day they met, but right before the story begins. Mal also speaks spanish in his Point of View. There will be translations in the author's comments.

It was two months before I graduated from my high school, and I was anxiously checking the mail every day. A few months back, I had applied to my dream college. A school that focused on engineering, and it was my goal to engineer better products for omegas.
As an omega, I was a prime candidate to make products for other omegas. I had a general idea of what worked and why. It would make it easier for me to come up with even more products that can be used.
Like a dummy, I only applied to one college because it was the only college that I wanted to go to. If I couldn't get into it, then I didn’t want to go at all. I could have applied to other engineering schools, but I was stubborn.
When I finally got the letter in the mail that would tell me my fate, I was so excited yet terrified at the same time. I was scared of what I would find in the letter. What if I was rejected? What would I do next?
I hadn’t left the mailbox when I cautiously started opening the envelope. I could feel my heart racing as the nerves in my body began to scream. I could feel my chest getting tighter and butterflies in my stomach. I was beginning to sweat, and my whole body felt hot.
It felt like everything was moving in slow motion as I pulled the letter out. I could feel my heart stop as I began to read the letter.
“Dear Flynn Soto, Congratulations on your acceptance to Bleh College of Engineering.”
I didn’t read the rest of the letter as a wave of relief filled my body. I had made it into my dream school and would soon live a new life. I just had to finish up high school and make it through the summer.
I felt light as I ran into the house ready to tell my mom the good news. I was barely in the door, when I shouted, “I made it.”
“I knew you would. You worked hard to get into Bleh.” She poked her head around the corner.
She was busy in the living room, crocheting some jackets for the orphanage in town. She liked to help the orphanage out when she could, and I think it had a lot to do with her strong maternal instincts but inability to have more children.
I practically skipped into the living room to join her. I sat down on the couch beaming with pride. This was what I always wanted. I picked up a skein of yarn and a hook to help my mom make jackets. She had taught me to crochet when I was younger. I used to think it was dumb, but I found it to be very calming.
As I was beginning a lime green jacket, my mother stood up. “I’m going to make a quick call. If you got your acceptance letter, Mary’s son should have gotten his too. He applied to the same school as you. Did I tell you that?”
She had. She brought it up almost everyday that her best friend’s son also applied to Bleh. I had never met Mary or her son, but my mom wanted me to room with her son. “Yes mother. You’ve told me.”
She smiled at me as she made her way to the landline in the kitchen. The house was silent before it was broken by a shrill “hey” from my mother. I eavesdropped on the conversation, but I was only able to get half the conversation.
I was able to hear as my mom exclaimed, “that’s great! Looks like our boys can be roommates!”
He had also made it into Bleh. I wondered if he had wanted to go to Bleh or if his mother had pushed him into it because she also wanted him to room with her bestfriend’s son. My mother ended the call quickly to return to me.
She sat down poker faced as if I hadn’t heard her talking on the phone. She resumed her work on the jacket for the orphanage and sighed heavily into the room as if something was wrong.
“It looks like my little man is going off to college. It's good that you’ll have a good roommate, but I don’t want to hear that you two are getting into trouble.”
I was nervous about rooming with a complete stranger, but my mom seemed to think this guy would make the perfect roommate for me, so I trusted her.

It was four in the morning, and I was packing everything I wanted to bring to Bleh college of engineering. This would be the first time I had spent more than a weekend away from my mother. I was a little nervous, and I was even more nervous about meeting my new roommate, Flynn.
My mother talked highly of him, and praised his academic achievements. She even demanded that I get his help with my math work. Although not bad at math, it took me longer than most to solve problems, because I had a harder time understanding when and why to use certain equations.
I wasn’t bringing a whole lot to the dorm because the room was smaller than my bedroom, and I would be sharing the space with another person. Thinking about sharing close quarters with another person outside my mother was a bit nerve racking.
I wasn’t good at communicating with people, and I struggled to understand social cues. This caused me to get into a lot of fights with other alphas, and caused me to scare away all the omega and betas. I had no friends, so I was hoping that I didn’t fuck it up with Flynn. I would be sharing a room with him for a year.
I was putting the last box in my truck when my mother approached me. “M'hijo, no me puedo creer cuánto has crecido. Ya eres todo un hombre."
“No mamá, aún estoy chiquito; aún soy tu bebé.”
“"La casa va a estar muy vacía sin ti.”
“Llamaré a menudo.” I was getting into my truck.
My mother had wanted to go with me, but it was a long drive, and she couldn’t take off work the next day.
“Conduce con cuidado.”
“Si, mamá.”
“No corras. vete despacio.”
“Tranquila, mamá.”
“Llámame cuando llegues.”
“Lo haré, no te preocupes.”
“Te quiero mucho.”
“Y yo a ti mamá.” Without another word, I started my car and got on the road.
I was excited to meet my new roommate and to finally have a friend. Would I make it to our room first or would he be there when I got there?
At seven hours, the drive was long and boring. Since I had left early in the morning, I made it to campus just before noon. I had gone to a camp over the summer, so I had a good idea where I needed to go. Once on campus, I parked my car and made my way to the dorm.
I walked into the building and up to the reception desk to give them my name so they could give me the roomkey to my dorm. The building was bustling as new students and returning students brought boxes to their rooms or were bidding farewell to their parents.
When I got my key, I was lucky enough to get a trolley. A family had just finished using it, so I grabbed it from them so that I would not have to make more than one trip from my truck. I only had five boxes with me, but I still didn’t want to make more trips than I had to. While I was unpacking, I quickly called my mom as promised to let her know that I made it safe and sound.
By one in the afternoon, I was mostly unpacked, and I had already met the R.A., Richard. He seemed like a reliable guy and being a beta made him a great choice as an R.A. Hopefully, I will be able to get along with him as well.
My back was towards the door, when I heard the key entering the lock. My new roommate was here, and I was suddenly extremely scared. What was he going to think of me? What was I going to think of him?
My heart hit the pit of my stomach when I finally turned around to look at him. He had just placed a bag on the empty bed in the room, so he had to be Flynn. But he was a small, frail omega. I couldn’t room with an omega. Or maybe I could. I had to try. This is what my mother wanted.
