"Isn't this the invitation card of 'xx' award show?"
Haruto inspected the card that was on the table, opening and reading it's contents.
Nagomi, who was in the middle of writing the song, sitting on the floor with all the papers surrounding him noded, unbothered whether the latter saw him or not.
"You've won this award 3 times in a row now. Are you sending your piece this year too?"
"They asked me to."
Haruto sat beside Nagomi, watching as his expression changed, every time he was satisfied or troubled with what he was doing.
He chuckled at the black-haired.
"It must be wonderful to get the recognition for something you worked so hard for, in front of so many people."
Nagomi opened his mouth to say something but paused, it seemed like he was contemplating whether to say or not but decided to voice it out anyway.
"As irony as it may sound, I hate crowds. It makes me think of my past when all the eyes were on me and I was an outcast."
Haruto was stunned by the sudden confession but one part of him was happy that Nagomi was opening up to him more.
Haruto took Nagomi's hand on his.
"Then we can do this instead. When you are up on the stage just search for me, I will always be looking up at you. It may help you feel a bit easy."
Haruto wore a hopeful smile on his face.
Lost in the moment and his smile, Nagomi made a sudden slip.
"I love you."
Both of their eyes widen upon hearing those words. Both of them were a blushing mess.
"Can I take this as your answer?"
Nagomi slowly nodded and the other thing he found himself was at Haruto's bone crushing hug.
"I love you too. I can't explain how happy I am."
Nagomi wiped the tears that were forming on the corner of Haruto's eyes, before placing a kiss on his forehead.
"Now let me write, I need to submit this before the show."
"But I wanna cuddle, let me steal snuggles then."
Haruto wrapped himself on Nagomi in a backhug, placing his chin on the nape of his neck, occasionally kissing it.
"Stop it. It's ticklish."
"Ohh that reminds me what kind of song, do you want to write Senpai?"
"Yeah, just don't ignore me and ask questions on your own accord."
"But senpai...." Haruto further nuzzled his nose on Nagomi's nape as he let out a whine.
Nagomi let out a sigh.
"If you are asking about my ideal song, it would be about love and family but I've never experienced it."
Nagomi had a sad look on his face.
"Well you have me now. Let's have our own family in the future."
Nagomi ruffled Haruto's hair with his free hand.
"That reminds me, the song 'home' isn't it about you? Didn't Abe-san write it to explain how he felt when you were born?"
"I guess so."
"Hey is that the attitude you should've when someone expresses their love? It may not seem like it but you parents really love you and that song is just one of many verifications."
"I am sorry, don't get angry."
Haruto pulled Nagomi even more closer, never wanting to let go.
"I am not the one you should say that to. Next time make sure to say them a proper thank you for everything they've done. You are lucky, so don't lose that luck."
Haruto nodded as an attempt to show his understanding.
"Now that I think about it, doesn't it seem like I had already fallen in love with you before we had even met. As cliché it sounds, maybe it was fate that brought us together."
Nagomi chuckled at his own random theory but deep down he still wanted to believe that they were each other's destiny.
He was experiencing a true bliss, being in his lovers' arms, getting to talk about these things, laughing at random stuff, doing what he loves.
He once who had lost everything, along with the drive to live has once again gained a second chance, got the warmth he had always craved for.
It was at that moment, he realised, Haruto was now his home.
I am sorry for my absence in this book. I have been focusing on my other story but since I am almost done with the last song, I will be updating regularly from other week.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Thank you for your patience.
Nagomi who had never experience true love, learns to express himself through music, making a name for himself but he was far from writting his ideal song: a song that represents warmth.
Haruto who had given up on his dull life, finds himself captivated by Nagomi. A love story that bloomed between two souls interrwined by music.
