I'm not a weeb but I like watching a bit of anime here and their. I'm not an expert in anime but I do apreiate a good storyline. A lot of popular animes nowadays I feel like are overhyped and overrated so I will talk about anime shows I think are overrated (spoilers!)

My Hero Academia

Yes, the big one. I don't really like MHA that much. It's a fun watch (with a few exeptions) and yeah. This is one of those things most of us can agree on. My complaint are simple but still hard hitting. Two arcs are not good. One being mediocre and too stretched out and the other shitty, adds nothing to the story and boring.

The arc were the UA group try to get their Hero Pass was cool but would've been better if it was 3-5 Episodes and more of a sub-plot. 

The arc with the School Wide festival was so fucking bad. The villian was a poor attempt at a joker who was "Going against society full of quirks" (i'm also pretty sure he's a 50 year old dating an underage which is not good to say the least). It's so boring cause no one is fighting villians or trying to take down Plaugue Doctor Yakuza but they're making a festival. Fun watch right. Also if you take out the arc then the story is still the same. 

Demon Slayer

How controversial, thinking bad of an anime that has be getting nothing but praise for the past 2 years. While I did think it was okay, let me get this straight the fight scenes are good and the animation is good so don't worry about me shitting on that. 

Now first, when Tanjiros family dies, do you REALLY feel bad for him. I mean, we saw his family for 2 minutes and then die immediately. We don't really know them so it's hard to sympathize with Tanjiro. 

Secondly, the first 15 episodes are skyrim level side quests. Quick visualization here:

Villiger: Excuse me but, my wife has taken the kids but a demon took my wife and sleeping with Body pillows just aren't the same. Could you save my wife and kids?

Tanjiro: Ok, I mean, I'm only trying to change my sister from a demon into a human and this little side quest like most Open-World RPG games won't affect me as the main character.

Also jokes aside the MAIN antagonist is literally Michael Jackson. No joke.

The characters at most have three personality traits. Tanjiro is a selfless, helping brave person and that's it. Zenitsu is a paronoid, soyjack, and Giyu is the equivalent of me, quiet, emo as shit, and brooding. And to reach my funny quota, Inosuke is the Sigma male of anime. Doesn't care what people think, murders all demons on sight, and doesn't waste time with women.

Also since i haven't finished any anime other than those two, I will be milking this thing dry. When ever I finish a popular anime, I will say if it's overrated or not.

Good animes you should watch, you like action? Watch "One Punch Man". Like slice of life? "Cells at work" and "A Slient Voice" are options. Like horror? Watch "Death Note". Also watch breaking bad just finished first season good show.
