Creptors—also known as the “True Kings” of Colony 782—are the eight-legged reptilian monsters of their world. With an astounding 39 feet in length and a towering 12 foot height, these gargantuan creatures weigh anywhere from 5-7 metric tons, easily dwarfing their other deadly counterparts, the zephylyn, and have been known to specifically hunt down the large cats when they cross over into each other's territories.
Primarily solitary creatures, creptors usually come together to form “packs” once every year for their mating season. These packs tend to be anywhere from three to seven females with a presiding male leading them and mating with each one until the season is over and the females leave to lay their eggs, dissolving the pack.
While male creptors stand out with brilliant red beards and large pincers, a female creptor is most noticeable for it's lack of such things. They tend to have a single row of red spikes down their spines and a smaller, less impressive set of pincers, but, other than those similarities, female creptors are quite plain. They can lay up to five eggs a clutch and leave the nest as soon as the eggs are properly buried.
Despite a high clutch count, creptors are not as common as other Colony creatures. Researchers believe that this is due to clutch hostilities immediately after hatching, only the single strongest kit leaving the nest after feasting on its weaker siblings. A few recordings have shown stalemates between two strong kits, but this seems to be a very rare occurrence.
All creptors have a digging claw located on either of their second set of paws. This claw is located on the middle finger and is long, hooked, and very sharp. While it is described as a digging claw primarily due to its use in building nests, other researchers often call it the “hook” as males use this claw for fights over females as well as an anchor to keep them attached to the females during intercourse.
Unlike the zephylyn, creptors are entirely nonvenomous. Their pincers primarily act as a warning to other males during mating season and weapons when the warnings are ignored. Still, they hold nothing toxic within their hollow forms and are typically shed two to three weeks after mating season has ended.
The risk level of these creatures is Alpha 10. There is no situation where it is advised to face down this creature and no situation where it is enforceable to stand your ground when dealing with them. Above all, the Wings and their chosen Elites insist that encounters with creptors should be dealt with an immediate order for retreat and/or evacuation if civilians are involved. In the event that a mating pack attacks any of the five cities or the larger Base camps amongst the Outer Boundary, it is advised to use the artillery cannons and cargo busters to steer the creatures away. It is understood that these tactics are deterrents and will more often than not fail in killing the creatures.
So, that's the Creptor's archive! I really enjoyed doing these little pieces for my series on Patreon, but, again, the workload just got to be too much T~T
Anyways, again, thank you all for the support! Hope to see you over on The Fourth Verse for the remaining rewards <3
