THE COFFEE SHOP WAS BUSTLING with costumers. Beau was able to return to work after Tommy had called him desperately. He had known the male manager wouldn't have been able to handle everything with the coffee shop being understaffed. So here was he working again at his job making drinks after drinks for the many costumers.
It seems Sasha quit and Tommy had to look for a new employee without much luck. He was on his wits end looking for a part timer but thankfully the break he gave Beau ended and he called him.
“Welcome to LoveStruck.” He watched as Tommy took orders after orders. The sight of the long line of people alone made him feel exhausted. While he does enjoy his job, it still has its down sides like when it was rush hour.
“Hey B, after making that drink can you go clean the tables?” Tommy asked Beau who was making several orders as quick as he could. Beau nodded handing out another drink by calling the names on the cups.
Grabbing one of the rags and a cleaning alcohol spray under the counter, he made his way to the tables. He grabbed the dirty mug left by customers; throw away left over food and put away the trays after cleaning them. Spraying down the tables, he was able to observe the place a bit. The rush hour was almost rushing by so the coffee shop was getting less people coming in. Beau was cleaning a table when a bag was placed on the chair near it, Beau looked up and his eyes met deep brown ones.
“Sorry, I can sit here right?” The sweet voice of the man he never thought he would talk to besides taking his order asked. Beau stood motionlessly staring at the man before nodding his head slowly. “Great.” The long-haired man smiled at him sitting down.
Beau stood there staring a bit too much, but he was startled he didn’t notice the man had come inside the coffee shop. Looking at the counter he noticed Tommy was smirking a bit at him while he leaned against the counter eating a cookie.
Beau sighed; it seems that everyone knew about his crush except his crush himself. He smiled a bit nervously at the man before moving away to clean another table yet he kept glancing at the beauty. He wore his glasses today and had a nice sweater on Beau eyes trailed after him slowly observing the male as he worked on his laptop.
How can a man be that beautiful and yet not look feminine at all. It left Beau wondering what he was like, what he liked to do and what he tasted like. He groaned under his breath. He was feeling worse than a pervert. He never thought he would have such thought about someone and thinking these things in a public place. Moving away from the man as far as he could he finished his tasks and walked back to the counter where he met Tommy’s prying eyes.
“You did that on purpose.” Beau accused the manager, rolling his eyes. Tommy grinned, shrugging his shoulders. “You seriously been pinning after that costumer for months. I thought I should push you to talk to him.” Tommy handed him a cookie which he took gladly. “Not that it worked. You froze, B.”
Beau groaned sinking down to his knees. “I can’t help it. He’s so… damn hot.” Beau placed his palm against his face. He felt Tommy put a hand on his back; he knew how hard it is for him to face the longhaired student. The fact that he didn’t panic right in front of him was a miracle in itself.
“By the way, I saw what you did last time.” Beau peered up at Tommy; the man waved a marker in his hand. It made Beau feel flustered. Beau wanted to crawl under the counter and never come out. Tommy let out a laugh after seeing Beau’s expression. “Don’t worry, kid. I don’t think he noticed it was you.”
Beau groaned again feeling disappointed. Beau stood up abruptly walking to the other side of the counter, he didn’t want to talk anymore about his crush or with Tommy or else he’ll die of embarrassment.
He went to clean up mugs and plates, placing them nicely in their places and throwing away the trash. To keep himself from looking at Mylo he kept himself away from the counter. Not that that helped much. The man was in his thoughts.
“Hey.”
When he came back from throwing the trash, He went back to the counter after washing his hands and putting away the rest of the mugs.
Looking up, Mylo in all his glory stood in front of him giving him a smile. Beau mind short-circuited and he froze once again on the spot. Mylo watched him curiously which helped him snap out of it.
“Oh. Hi.” He cleared his throat. ”What can I help you with?” He asked and his voice cracked. Beau winced he wanted to slap himself.
“I would like to order. They said to order from you.” The longhaired male gestured at someone which Beau looked. Tommy waved at him going to the back. Beau groaned in his mind but smiled at Mylo.
“Okay let me just put this away.” He put away the last mug and walked to the cashier. “So, what would you like to order?” Beau asked him, deep down feeling like a nervous wreck.
“A large sized Cinnamon iced coffee with extra cinnamon.” Beau smiled already knew that’s what Mylo wanted. He had memorized his drink of choice from the beginning. He had already grabbed a large cup, writing Mylo’s name without asking Mylo. Mylo noticed and when Beau looked back up he noticed the small smile on Mylo’s face giving the man a confused look.
“It seems I order from you a lot since you remember my name.” Mylo said noticing his confused expression. The longhaired male played with his hair looking slightly embarrassed.
“Oh, yeah.” Beau almost dropped the cup moving away to make the drink. Beau sneaked a look at Mylo, seeing the long hared male eyes still on him made him nervous. It was probably the first time Mylo had actually paid attention to him.
“You have a nice name.” Beau said again without looking at Mylo. Beau didn’t want him to see his flustered face or the fact that he almost spilled the drink. Finishing making the machining the iced coffee, Beau made his way back to the counter where Mylo was waiting. Beau noticed Mylo’s slightly flushed face.
“Here you go. One Large sized Cinnamon iced coffee.” Beau handed him the coffee cup and he handed him a freshly baked cookie. Beau gave him a smile and put a finger in front of his lips. Mylo grinned taking the cookie. No one can say no to a sweet treat especially from a hot barista.
Mylo thanked him, Beau watched him leave the coffee shop with a smitten smile on his face.
“You’re drooling…” Tommy’s teasingly said walking out of the backroom. Beau rolled his eyes at him, giving him an accusing glare. Tommy held his hands up at the glare. “I’m taking a break.” Beau walked passed him.
After work Beau had to visit his aunt at work, she needed him to bring food for her since she didn’t get to eat her lunch. Walking into the hospital a shiver ran down his spine, he never liked going to the hospital it was a depressing place smelling of cleaning products.
Beau greeted the nice nurses, asking for his aunt. They called her and he waited in the waiting area. Beau glanced around, the waiting area was bustling as usual with families waiting for good or bad news, Beau would look away from cryig families feeling like he was intruding. Thankfully he was saved when his aunt made way towards him. “Hi Aunt May. I brought you something to eat.” He held up the bag for the clearly tired woman in scrubs. She smiled relieved for food.
“Thank God for you, B.” The blonde woman sighed taking a bite of the chicken, sitting down. Beau smiled, he was glad his aunt was in a better mood. The past few days she didn’t seemed to be in a good or socializing mood.
“How was work, B?” The woman asked him after having her fill of the nicely cooked meal. Beau paid his attention back to her, watching her put away the empty meal. “It was the same as always, busy.” He responded smiling. The woman grinned. “But I’m glad I went to work though. I did miss it.” He shrugged, pulling out his phone looking at the time. If he wanted to make it back home he needed to leave now. Aunt May grabbed his hand, pulling him back to his seat; Beau looked at her with a confused smile.
“B, you’re mother called me today.” The smile slipped from Beau face. “She asked about you.” Aunt May noticed his expression feeling bad from bringing up the phone call.
“…What did she want?” He asked after taking a deep breath. He furrowed his brows his eyes lingering on the floor. “She just wanted to know you’re doing and if you wanted to come back.” Aunt ay gently patted his back, comforting him. “I didn’t tell her anything. She can talk to you when you are ready. Not when she wants to.”
“Okay. Thanks Aunt May.” Beau said standing up. He hugged his aunt. “I’m going home. I’ll see you tomorrow.” The woman returned the hug.
Beau walked to the subway his gaze on the ground glaring hard. His good mood had left him; the happy feeling of his talk with Mylo disappeared. Beau didn’t know how he got home; he was on autopilot, his aunt’s words in his mind playing on repeat.
Toto greeted him at the door, following him to his room. Beau fell down on his
bed sighing. Toto whined at him, sensing his owner’s mood. “Sorry, buddy. Not
feeling all that great.” He turned his head, petting the small dog. The dog
whined again before climbing into his own bed laying down and watching Beau.
