"WHAT?! You got in contact with Jenna?"
"Yep, 'pparently she's the girl I found cute at the coffee shop I told you about."
"The one near your apartment?"
"Yeah."
"Well that's amazing! Did you confess to her?"
"Hell no, I'm not up to that level."
"Amelia won't be pleased with this, you're the most romantic person I know."
"Ha, Amelia won't be and even though I've been in almost eleven relationships doesn't make me the most romantic person you know. It just means I'm a-"
"Player?" Both of them turn to see the one and only, Amelia, with her was Alice. Alice gives a slight wave while Amelia just looks smug.
"How long have you been here?"
"How the fuck did you not see us on the elevator, we've been standing in the doorway for almost five whole minutes now." All of them chuckle, they must've flown down from Canada when they heard of the news, they also must be the others staying with her. The alt gang was back together again.
"So... who are we talking about now?"
"Jenna."
"Again? Girl you really need to get over her."
"Bro, I probably ain't ever going to, she's perfect."
"God you have an obsession don't you."
"I- I'm not obsessed."
"I doubt that, you talk about her all the time." Alice grins at her comment.
"Shut up, both of you."
"Hey, it's almost seven, you guys wanna go to the mall?"
"Hell yeah, I need some more button down shirts." All of them laugh as Lyla just throws her suitcase on her bed which was at the end and grabs her wallet and phone. "Ight, let's go."
All four of them got into Mel's car, she was the only one that drove up from her home in Oklahoma with her wife. Lyla remembers their wedding perfectly, it was in the small town of 'The Pan State' as she called it. The scene was perfect with the dark colors of black and navy blue. Mel had even had the audacity to give her the title of 'best man' but they had to add 'wo' in front of it at some point.
It was funny to say the least, how her, Alice, Amelia, and Lin all pranked the hell out of the newlyweds by switching everything around since they were also, conveniently the planners of the wedding, or Lin was. So they switched around everyone's tables and even did something to the cake, from what Lyla remembers is that Amelia brought a bottle of hot sauce before the wedding and then put it into the cake or something.
Their faces were priceless when they found out that hot sauce was put into it, almost getting the four kicked out but it was all for shits and giggles.
Once they got to the mall, a few people were there. It was funny honestly, how the mall would always be so busy since it was... well a very social place, that was only because somehow many were still considered to be stuck in the eighties.
"So where should we go first?" Mel asks, looking at the rest of the crew.
"Bro, we should go to Forever 21." Lyla pitches.
"What? They got that here?" Amelia asks, her eyes widening.
"Yep, welcome to the magic of America." The four of them chuckle as they head towards the place.
"Yo, what do y'all think of this?" The comedian holds a button down shirt against her chest, awaiting for the others' approval.
"You gonna wear that on a date with Jen?" Alice asks, slapping Amelia's hand after, both smirking.
"This wouldn't be something I'd wear on a date, the black one I found earlier would be for that."
"Then show it to us."
"Ight, give me a minute." The girl wanders off to return the shirt and get the other one. Mel on the other hand had gotten into Lyla's phone since she hasn't changed her password since grade school and looked at her contacts.
She finds one that is out of the ordinary since all of them are coded into something and beckons the others to come over, both obliging and coming over to crowd the small screen.
"I think this is Jenna's contact."
"Click on it."
"What if it calls her though?"
"Give it." The manager hands over the phone to Amelia, the girl taps the contact and nothing happens, all it shows is the contact name of "Chongyun <3", her number, and email. Amelia scrolls down a little and sees the five letters that spell out Jenna. "It's her contact alright."
Mel looks at the contact for a quick second before shaking her head at what the name was referencing, it was to the popular game quite some time ago of Genshin Impact, somehow the girl hasn't moved on from that game nor has she moved on from her Dream SMP codenames.
"Then lets text her, get her in a group chat with us." Alice suggests, putting a blue shirt into the stack that was on her arm. She, of course, overheard the conversation after she left to look at the shirt when Mel gave over the phone.
"I don't think it's that..."
"Oh hey she responded."
"What?"
