The next day Jenna was making dinner for herself and the dogs since she stayed the night. Maybe it was bad that she slept in Lyla's room but it was nice and comfortable, even her hoodie was warm and soft and smelled like her. Okay, maybe she was getting a bit out of hand because of her "crush" towards the other but hey, at least tonight was her special, it was supposed to be broadcasted on Comedy Central while her Europe tour was going to be recorded for Netflix. Or that's what the comedian told her.
"Amber, quit clawing my leg please, I'll get your food in a little." The dog backs down and sits on the floor, swishing her tail back and forth. After she puts down the two bowls of food she jumps out of the way as the two gobble down what was in the bowl. It was a common thing she did since they looked so wild, feral, etc.
She herself had made bacon with what was left in the fridge, though a note sat on the counter. She hadn't seen it until now, maybe because this was the first time she had been in the kitchen. The note was addressed to her however, so like anyone would Jenna grabs the notes and flips up the tab, looking at what was written.
Jenna,
It is I, the spirit of Lyla, here to guard you while she's out. Okay I'll cut the bullshit, anyway if you really want to go get some food and restock the fridge then go for it, I left around a hundred dollars for food somewhere, I think it's on my desk but you don't have to pay me back anything. Well maybe a date or two but isn't the point.
So just make yourself at home and if Victoria is an ass just call me, I'll sort her out.
Love ya
Lyla
The girl reads over the note a few more times before chuckling. She really loves her, doesn't she? At least the other didn't say anything about sleeping in her room or stealing her clothes, mostly hoodies but... the girl has a new and smug idea in her head, for one day, she was going to wear one of the other outfits... or well stealing another one of her hoodies to wear. The idea was flawless in her head, this would honestly be so entertaining, or that's what she thought.
"Alright, lets do this." Jenna heads over to the girl's room, opening up her closet and taking a look at all her clothing. The only thing that looked really out of the ordinary was a royal blue dress in the corner.
I'll look at that one later. Her fingertips gloss over the many hangers until she lands on something that could resemble a hoodie. Grabbing it she looks at the light yellow sweatshirt before having some dumb memory come up from those nine years ago. It was the day after Lyla had practically broken herself for the seventh time, or at least her shoulder coming out of place. She had a lemon shirt and the first comments that were made that would always stick with that shirt, "lemonted". It was based off of 'limited' which is what the girl said angrily as they were playing. Even the very thought of that memory brings a smile to the soon to be lawyer's face.
It also meant from then on she had to be careful with whatever she did, even hitting the girl's right shoulder could pop it out of place.
Jenna starts to slightly put on the sweatshirt over the black shirt she was already wearing, of course the hoodie reached almost to her knees, to be honest she looked like she was from those web-comics that would have oversized hoodies as a fashion. It's nice but by now it's just a cliché, but she loves it.
When she was done she looked at herself in the long mirror, everything about the outfit made her think of the other. Kind of. She's never rarely seen the girl in something like this but that's mostly because it was probably night clothing since Lyla was always somewhat complaining that she was cold. It brought a small feeling of tears to her but she quickly sucked it up, forcing herself to slightly smile as she hugged herself.
"I'm probably going to steal this." She thinks out loud even though no one could hear her since no one was in the house.
Her phone buzzes to life with what seems to be a video call from Lyla. Jenna quickly answers it, not even thinking about what she was wearing at the moment. She sets the phone up against the bottom of the mirror she was now sitting in front of.
"Why are you wearing my hoodie?" Was her first question, a bright blush invades the other's face before she can answer. Though she could hear the screams and cheers in the background.
"Are you live?"
"Yep, the fans want to meet the mystery girl I'm in... a great friendship with!" A pause happens as the camera goes from the girl's face to the dark crowd of many people, Jenna holds her breath as she counts the rows of seats, there were honestly... too many as they phased into more and more darkness.
"Wait, where are you again?"
"Cincinnati."
"Oh, well, hello Cincinnati!" Many cheer from the greeting, clapping and laughing, some even saying hello back. Jenna waves from where she is, sitting on the wooden floor of Lyla's room in the girl's apartment.
"But you still haven't answered my question, why are you wearing my hoodie?"
"Because I can, also by the way, I'm stealing it." A noticeable pink tint comes onto Lyla's face as she smiles, almost warmly.
"Well that was mean, what'd I do to you?" What Jenna was thinking in the moment didn't allow her to hear what the other said, the only thing she was thinking of was one song lyric over and over again.
Cause I'm still into you
The song was Still into you by Paramore but it felt so right to think about, even making her replay the song over and over in her mind.
"I'm sorry what?" A few seconds go by, silence settling in.
"Nevermind, I'll talk to you after the show boo, love ya."
"Love you too." She says slowly, waving as the call disconnects. "I love you so much."
