"Lyla, can I talk to you for a second?"
"Sure, what's the matter Mel?" They were standing outside of Courtney and Emma's house, the others were already getting situated inside.
The group had already arrived at least twenty to thirty minutes earlier, stopping at least a few more times in Hilliard as the Ohioan gave insight to some of the places such as the high school she attended and other things.
"Are you and Jenna..." Lyla sighs, gripping her hands behind her back before nodding.
"Yes, me and her are together, but I don't want the others knowing, we said we'd keep it a secret." Except best friends don't count, that was the universal rule for secrets according to the two.
"Do you plan on ever coming out and saying the two of you are together?"
"In England, when my Europe tour comes around, I'll say the word. That's what we said in our deal."
"Alright, but even in that time that you two break up, I'll be here for you, we'll sort that out if it comes to that."
Tears rush down the comedian's face, quickly gripping the other into a hug. Mel rubs a few circles on her back, resting her head on the short girl's shoulder.
"Hey it's going to be alright, just take deep breaths." The girl does as told and slowly starts to stop crying.
"But I'm terrified Mel. What if I mess up like last time?"
"Hey-" Mel puts her hands on the sides of the girl's face, making her look at her. "You didn't mess up at all, we just reverted back to friends, remember."
"I know but I still..."
"You're going to be great like you always are, I still love you as a friend and you know that, but Jenna love loves you, and you can't keep bringing yourself down." Lyla sniffs, trying to clear a way to breathe normally as more tears drip down her chin.
"T-Thank you."
"You're welcome, now if you need anything, just talk to me, even though I didn't have that much experience with dating like you have I'll still be here to give advice. It's like we said in grade nine when we texted on Instagram, we'll be each other's personal therapist because even therapists need a therapist."
Lyla puts her forehead against her manager's shoulder, still trying to calm down.
"Thank you so much Mel."
"You're welcome. Now answer me this other question, there isn't something with the Americans at five is there?"
"No, no there isn't, I got a ticket for Jenna to come here for tonight's show, I was also thinking we'd go on a date." Mel smiles.
"Then I'll drive you to the airport or you can take my car, I trust you with knowing these roads since you're native to them." The comedian chuckles, rubbing the last of her tears away. "Now come on, let's get you ready."
"I wanna see how their washing machine works."
"It isn't magic, that's for sure." Both of them walk into the house, giggling and smiling.
The time flew by quickly and they were already on their way to the airport to pick up Lin. Lyla was fidgeting with her hands; they had forty five minutes for the whole alt squad to be back together before she had to go back to fetch Lizzy and Jenna. Courtney was going to pick up Lizzy as the comedian would be picking up her girlfriend.
"Alright, here we are."
