Acalea: The Goddess of Love

Divine Eloquence

Divine Eloquence

Dec 01, 2021

At around twelve o’clock she left her desk to go onto her lunch break, she carried her phone into a break room. She was reading a text from someone named Charlie, it said: “Angie, I need your help. I keep hearing my girlfriend has been seeing other guys, should I talk to her about it?”. She groaned upon reading the text, she responded “Of course you should. Hell, I would break up with her if I were you”. She pressed the send button afterwards.
Below there was another text from someone named Peter, she opened it and it said “Dont leave me baby. I’m so sorry you caught me cheating. I’ll do anything for you. I’ll buy you flowers, make crazy love to you, but you more jewellery. I need you more than the air that I breathe”.
Angelica snickered a bit while she was reading the text. She later texted back “Wow, such moving words. Unfortunately I need the air I breathe more than I need you. So go away” she was giggling as she was texting that “maybe you should pursue a career in comedy? And I’m sure there are girls who’ll pee their pants at the sound of your voice, too”. She then sent the message, later putting her phone away. She later just leaned on the table, gazing outside of the window. Someone came over to talk to her, it was the woman wearing the white dress from earlier.
‘Are you feeling better now?’ she asked, sitting next to her.
‘No, not really’ she sighed ‘I wish I could just go home’
‘Why don’t you tell your manager?’
‘Because she’s an arsehole. My boss is Lauren Maidstone, that woman’
‘Oh… I’m sorry’ she went out of her seat ‘I could ask her for you, if you like’
‘No, don’t. I’ll get through this’
‘Are you sure?’
‘Yes!’
‘OK’ the woman wearing the white dress started to walk away, she then turned back ‘I do have some paracetamol, if you want it’
‘Yes, please’ after taking paracetamol with her cup of coffee she returned to her desk, continuing work on the Queen’s story. Later on, Lauren approached her.
‘Are you all right?’ Angelica sighed, not looking at her in the eyes.
‘Yes, I’m fine’ Lauren looked bemused
‘Are you sure?’
‘Yes, I’m OK. I’ll be getting on with the Queen’s story soon enough. On the rest of her day at work she was just editing the story. She looked pale as a ghost by the end.
