The kids were the first to jump out of the car. I got out of the car going to the backseat to grab Leo and Luna. I heard Asher laughing and texting someone. I tried to look, but he kept it out of sight. "Asher! Get out of the car and help me!" I said as Leo tried to get out of the cage.
Asher jumped up, dropping his phone. "O-Okay, babe," Asher said, picking up his phone. I rolled my eyes. I was trying to calm Leo down. Luna was yelping and barking at Daisy, who was trying to put her through the cage bars. Asher picked up Luna's cage. Luna immediately calmed down. "Good girl," Asher sang, petting her on the nose through the bars.
I grabbed Leo, who had calmed down as well, and took him into the house. I opened the cage once I got inside. "Steph, carry Leo to the couch. Don't let him out of your sight," I barked as I turned around to get the other doggy supplies. Asher had Luna out of her cage and carried her into the house.
His phone rang in his back pocket. I looked straight at it. He eyed me, and speed ran into the house. I waited for him to come back outside to help me with the heaping amount of supplies we still needed to get into the house. About 30 minutes later, I got everything inside.
Asher was in our bedroom, yapping on the phone. He was so invested in his conversation of flirting with somebody that he didn't hear me walk in or failed to notice about 5 seconds later when I grabbed the phone out of his hands. He looked up. Thinking I was one of the kids.
When his vision finally settled on me, he asked in a less angry tone than his facial expression had shown, "Baby, why did you take my phone?" I heard the person who sounded a little too much like Lia ask, "Baby?" Asher froze. He even turned the ghost pale. If he knew that he wasn't doing anything wrong, he wouldn't be worried.
I hung up and screamed at him. "WHY DIDN'T YOU HELP ME WITH THE THINGS IN THE CAR? YOU WERE BUSY TALKING ON YOUR FUCKING PHONE THAT YOU FORGOT YOU HAD a WIFE?" I bellowed. Asher stepped back, his hands out. "Baby, calm down-." I continued talking before I could let him finish. "DON'T CALL ME, BABY. HOW THE FUCK COULD A PHONE CALL tHAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WORK BE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE DOGS AND YOUR WIFE?" I screamed into his face.
I turned around and slammed the door in his face. I still had his phone in my hand. I walked into one of the bathrooms and locked myself inside. I searched through his phone—contacts upon women with heart emojis beside their names. Out of curiosity, I searched for Lia. There was a contact with the following emojis: 🍆 and 🍑. I was fuming at this point. I threw Asher's phone on the ground and walked outside the bathroom.
Asher was standing by the doorway, looking seriously sad. I ignored his famous puppy dog eyes and walked downstairs. I grabbed Leo, who was playing with a donut dog chew toy. I grabbed the toy and ran outside into the garage.
I pulled out of my car and placed Leo in the passenger seat. I closed the door and ran back inside. "Daisy, come with me," I said, realizing that Stephanie and Dylan were in their rooms. Daisy looked beyond excited to come with me. I took a doggy blanket and the cage. I took a small pack of doggy food as well. I had a brilliant idea. I ran back to the car and grabbed Leo.
I placed him inside of the house. "Daisy, wanna go on a little trip with mommy to Los Angeles?" I asked her, already starting up the staircase. Daisy nodded her head. I was a bit concerned it would fall off, but I ignored it. "Alright, wait in the car for me. I'm going to bring some clothes for you and me, and we'll hit the road. I ran upstairs and grabbed a bunch of clothes for myself. I was thrilled that I had bought Daisy some clothes a few days before that I wanted to surprise her. I got a mini suitcase and threw our clothes inside. I ran back outside and saw Daisy carrying Leo. I nodded my head, and we both got in the car.
I put Daisy in her car seat, walked to the driver's side, and started the car. "Mommy, why are we going to L and A?" Daisy asked, looking at the house getting smaller and smaller. I didn't respond, and I just gave her a cheerful glance from the rearview mirror.
