I look at my left and saw an attractive looking flight attendant looking at me with a face full of concern.
I didn't notice earlier, but the flight attendant has her hand on my left shoulder.
"Are you alright sir?"
The flight attendant asks with full of concern.
"I'm alright."
I answered not to worry her.
"Are you sure sir?"
She asked.
"I'm sure."
I answered.
The flight attendant takes her hand of my shoulder.
"Do you need anything? A pillow? Chamomile tea to help you relax?"
The flight attendant asked.
"No, but thanks for asking."
I answered.
"Well, if you need anything, feel free to call one of us flight attendants."
"Will do."
The flight attendant walks away after our exchange.
I lean back in my seat in order to relax.
My heart is still pounding right now from the nightmare that I just woke up from.
Why now?
I haven't had that nightmare for a long time so why now?
Is it because I'm nearly approaching Libra City which is where the nightmare took place 10 years ago?
Yes, that nightmare wasn't just a mere nightmare but a reality that I survived from.
A reality that have forever changed my life from being a normal boy to a practitioner of the dark arts.
That incident, that happened 10 years ago brought me back to the city that I was born from to search for answers.
I want to know who those hooded men were that took Sonia away from me and haunted me for years.
I will hunt those men down no matter what and uncover the truth behind that incident so that Sonia can finally rest in peace in the afterlife!
If there is an afterlife.
I don't even think an afterlife exists nor do I believe that there is a magical palace in the sky where all the good souls go after they die.
Although I heard that ghosts exist and there is a type of magic called "Necromancy" that controls the dead but I never seen one myself so I can't really say.
"Hey! Were you having a bad dream?"
I answer her.
"Yeah…"
"Well, you know what they say, if you are having a bad dream it means something good is going to happen."
The cute girl said optimistically.
I find her logic questionable, so I decided to ask about it.
"Um? Don't you mean something bad is going to happen?"
She repeats her statement in a positive manner.
"Nope! Good things!"
"And what makes you say that?"
I asked.
"It is because bad things attract good things just like how bad boys attract a lot of good-looking women, I myself included."
She answered with confidence.
I honestly express my bewilderment to her.
"Sorry but I don't get it."
"You don't have to but trust me on this one okay?"
The cute girl answered.
"O-kay?"
I responded.
Judging by her personality, she is the optimistic care free type who would always think that no matter what happens, everything is going to be alright.
I don't dislike those kind of people to be honest, but too much optimism in my opinion is bad since they wouldn't be able to see reality clearly.
But hey! If that's how she wants to leave her life then who am I to judge?
"By the way, what brings you to the Big Apple of the East?"
The cute girl abruptly asked.
When the cute girl mentioned "Big Apple of the East", she probably meant Libra City since Libra City is known to be the New York of the east because it is a metropolis on an artificial island that is diverse of culture and ethnicity that is located at East Asia.
I answered the cute girl's question.
"Uni.."
"Oh? So you are a University student?"
The cute girl reacted.
I answer her.
“Yep...”
“Oh! What year if you don’t mind me asking?”
The cute girl asked.
“I’m in my freshmen year.”
I answered honestly.
“Oh! Fresh out of highschool I see! That makes you younger than me!”
The cute girl said enthusiastically.
“I guess so...”
I answered.
“You are not gonna ask me how old I am?”
She asked.
I don’t why she brought that up, but I do think it is inappropriate to as a girl’s age which is what my mentor has drilled into me so I declined her.
“No...”
“Why?”
She asked in a surprised manner.
“Wouldn’t that be rude?”
I honestly answered her.
“Yeah... But aren’t you curious?”
She answered while trying to urge me to ask.
To be honest, I don’t really care at all how old she is nor do I want to ask since I feel like it will bring up a one sided conversation which will be really awkward.
So I answered her trying to drop the subject.
“Not really...”
“You are not much of a talker are you?”
The girl frowned while saying that.
“I guess?”
I answered while feeling awkward.
She said while puffing her cheeks.
“Its a shame with that handsome face of yours!”
I don’t know if she is complementing me or mocking me but I should just thank her.
“Thanks... I guess?”
The girl suddenly changes the subject and asks me a question.
“By the way, what do you major in? If you don’t mind me asking.”
This girl sure has her own pace.
I answer her question.
“Criminology...”
“A future detective I see...”
The girl reacted.
“That’s what I’m aiming for...”
I answered meekly.
“Good luck with your studies future officer!”
The girl said cheerfully.
“Thanks...”
I answered.
"So, do you want to know what brings me to the Big Apple of the East?"
This girl is definitely going at her own pace.
I don't feel like chatting any further since I'm exhausted from the nightmare so I decided to refuse her.
"Not really."
The girl ignores me and continues on in her own pace.
"For sightseeing! By the way, I'm a travel vlogger on YouTube and currently I'm making a vlog about the 12 great cities."
"I see, good for you."
I complimented her in an indifferent manner.
"So if you don't mind, please subscribe to my channel! It's Marie's Merry Travels."
The girl said cheerfully like a genuine YouTuber.
I'm surprised that she didn't stutter when she mentioned her YouTube channel since the name is like a tongue twister.
I don't want her to test me any further so I just tell her, what she wants to hear.
"Will do once I have access to the internet."
Well, I said that, but I’ll definitely forget about it since I have a lot of things on my mind right now.
The cute girl thanks me in a cheerful manner.
"Thanks!"
I'm not in the mood to talk anymore, so I didn't respond and just sit silently.
"I'm Marie Weaver by the way!"
This girl who is named Marie didn't get the hint that I'm not in the mood to talk.
I guess she is dense as well or maybe she is just bored.
"May I know your name future detective?"
Even though I'm not in the mood to talk, it would be rude if I didn't introduce myself.
"It's Yuto, Yuto Nanase."
Marie compliments me.
"Yuto Nanase! That is a nice name!"
For some reason, I don't feel happy with the compliment.
Maybe it is because I am not in the mood to talk.
I respond to her compliment indifferently.
"Thanks…"
"Are you Japanese by the way?"
Marie asked suddenly which took me by surprise.
This girl definitely has her own pace.
I don't see any reason not to lie to her but I want to know why she asked that all of a sudden.
Although I already know the answer judging by her intrigue facial expression and her glittering eyes, I'll just ask anyways.
"Yeah! Why do you ask?"
"It is because your name sounds so Anime like. I'm a total weeb by the way."
Marie answered cheerfully.
I knew it! This girl is a weeb.
I always get that kind of reaction from weebs not that I hate them, its just tiring to deal with them.
"I see..."
"I love your culture so much, and anime is so awesome!"
She answered.
“Good for you!”
I said to her while being uninterested.
“By the way, do you like anime?”
She suddenly asked.
I knew this was coming since every weeb I encounter asked me that question.
“Well, not really.”
I answered honestly.
“So you hate anime?”
She asked while frowning.
“It’s not that I hate anime, I just dont feel anything about it.”
I answered honestly.
“So, do you watch anime?”
“From time to time when there is nothing else to watch.”
I answered honestly.
“So, what kind of anime do you watch?”
She asked while her eyes a glittering with anticipation.
“Well...”
I talked of the anime that I have watched, and she listens to me intently.
After I talked about what I have watched, she gave me some recommendation.
I thought I will be bored out of my mind, but she is surprisingly entertaining.
She is definitely a good conversationalist, must be one of the perks of being a YouTuber.
The two of us continued talking about Anime and before we know it, we have arrived at Libra City.
Marie looks out the window to see the city and as she did, she is in awe.
I can't blame her since Libra City is definitely a beautiful city rich in technology and I haven't been back in 10 years so I'm pretty sure they added more stuff into the city.
Marie, who is still staring at the window, expresses her astonishment.
"Oh my god! Is that a hologram in broad day light?? How did they even do that? That blimp looks so cool and high tech! I wonder if I can ride it."
I answer Marie's question about the blimp.
"You can but I heard it is a bit pricey compared to other public transport."
Not that I have ridden the blimp before nor do I know the current fare right now but I guess it will still be expensive since the blimp is a tourist attraction and not to mention inflation is unforgiving so it will probably cost more than before.
"That blimp is a public transport??"
Marie asked while she is still glued to the window.
"Yes it is, but it is mostly used by tourists."
I answered.
"I'm definitely going to ride that blimp and vlog about it!"
"I see! Have fun then!"
I answered.
After that, Marie continues to stare at the window.
I do want to take a peek at the city as well since it has been 10 long years since I left but Marie is hogging the window to herself so I couldn't see a thing.
I tried looking at the window from the seat adjacent to mine but just like Marie, the one who is sitting at the window seat is blocking the view as well.
Sigh! Oh well! I'll just go around the city on my free day and besides, I don't want to ruin Marie's fun since she is a tourist and she would only be staying in the city for a couple of days.
I tuck in my seatbelt and prepare for landing.
Although there isn't any announcement yet to put on the seatbelt, I just did it in advance so it won't be a hassle.
