When they arrived home, Ian's mother was not at home.

-Ryan, do you want something to eat? I'll make myself a snack.

-I don't refuse food. Can you make me a mixed sandwich please?

-A mixed sandwich on the way out.

-Here's your mixed sandwich and a juice.

-Thanks for the sandwich, but I didn't ask for a juice.

After Ian and Ryan finished eating their sandwiches, Ian went to get his sketchbook to do the work requested by the drawing teacher and sat down again next to Ryan in the living room.

Ian was so focused on his drawing that he didn't even notice Ryan had gotten up to get a drink of water.
