Next week is the first chapter of My Winter With You and, honestly, I’m very excited. I’ve missed Kasumi and Emi and the others. Reaver’s Song has been a wonderful experience but seeing Tottori grow with the next installment is satisfying in a wholly different way.
My novels aren’t for everyone, and I don’t expect everyone to enjoy them. My style is very much my own and I find it difficult to change things too terribly much so, no matter what else happens I will always write the way I have. I believe in characters and giving those characters certain freedom within the framework of the story to grow and expand or contract as the situation demands and don’t see that changing.
Expect there to be a lot of troubling issues Kasumi and the others have to face in this novel. The fear of giving too much or too little, first love, first intimacies, as well as the doubt, fear, and trust issues prevalent in the first. I love my characters (except Jun. Screw that guy. Daishi, too, honestly.) and the situations I put them in are a challenge for me to write. I thank you for taking the time out of your day and for showing an interest in My Winter With You. I will see you next Wednesday for chapter one! Happy Holidays and I hope the season finds you all happy, healthy and loved.
Sincerely Yours,
Katsu
