Markus sits in his single chair in front of his table thinking while staring at the open word document on his laptop. 

[markus:thought] writing has always been a hobby of mine ever since I was a kid. so when I was an adult I  decided that it should be my career too.

Markus stands up from his chair and starts pacing around his small room like  a prisoner itching to leave his small cell.

 [Markus:Yelling] I got up earlier today so I could start writing in peace before my shift starts but even still I can't even start a page! 

[Markus]Oh great now i'm talking to myself out loud

He starts to punch the air out of frustration with himself, as if he believed that he could knock out his writer's block

.  A buzzing noise comes from his phone, it's an alarm with a caption simply saying “WORK”.

Markus,already annoyed, rolls his eyes.

[markus] Time for work

 Like clockwork by seven thirty in the morning Markus is on his walk to work. It's a cold autumn morning though the wind being a tad bit more calm than usual with little more than a light chill breeze blowing in the air. The city however was the exact opposite, even though it was one of the poorer areas it was a bustling place to live, filled with street performers playing their music and salesmen annoyingly trying to sell their ripoff trinkets and supposed “good luck” charms. 

BAM!

Someone slams into Markus and knocks him over.

[Bruno] Hey man, watch it!

[Markus] sorry I’m so sorry

[kid] Yeah you better be

The person who had slammed himself into Markus was a  very slim teenage boy carrying flyers.

[Markus:thought]No need to fight a kid right now Markus. Just help out and move on.

Markus spots the flyers on the floor and helps pick them up.

“ annual City banquet of queen city” the flyer reads.

[markus:thought] This city has a banquet,how did I  not know that?

The kid brushes himself off.

[ ?] Say I've never seen you here. you new here?

 Markus sighs, disappointed at the fact that despite his year living here he’s still as enigmatic as D.B.cooper.

[Markus] No uh i’ve actually lived here for a year already 

[?] oh I didn't know… Well even I don’t know everyone that lives here so…

 [Markus:thought] well this just got awkward.

[?] Here,have a flyer.

[Markus] Really!

[?] Well you are  a member of the community. So here, take one.

The kid offers Markus a flyer. Markus enthusiastically takes it as if it’s a million lottery ticket.

[?] Alright see you there.

           The boy  starts quickly running ahead and  then just as quickly turns around and yells

           OH YEAH  THE NAMES BRUNO!  Then he continues to run like he’s in a hundred meter dash.

Markus watches him run off with a look of confusion on his face

[Markus] He ran off so fast I couldn't even tell him my name.

 Markus then looks down at the flyer and smiles. 

[Markus] I was actually invited! 

[markus]But am I going to go?

[Markus]Maybe I should,  Yes I'm going to the banquet everybody!

Markus jovially continues walking to work despite the fact that due to his on sidewalk collision he was now late for work.Which is a realisation that will hit him right about.

 [markus]I’M LATE! 

Markus runs as fast his legs will take him, running with such a dire look on his face you would think he’s running for his life. He runs that way all the way to work and thus his day job begins
