"Please don't! I don't know what's going on anymore, but you seem to have gone a lot more passive." He mentioned, watching Kurkoren hesitate to feed.
"Have you really forgotten me, Anouke?" He said and looked up with the eyes he used to look at Anouke before with. Kindess and acceptance when everyody else left him after the incident with his father.
“Good going, Kurkoren. Though, may I ask… What is that Angel still doing alive?” He pointed to Anouke. “And Lex is still here. Finish up your job and bring Lex back and report back to Akuma what you saw.”
"Prick." Kurkoren stated to Dayle's command.
Anouke rolled over, staring at the light sky. “Will I ever see you again, Lex?” He whispered as a breeze wafted over him, carrying his question out to the world.
Kurkoren
dropped onto the floor, skidding on his heels to a stop. Lex lifted his head up
and realized where he was. “Wait, why are we here..?” He asked, afraid.
Kurkoren put him down but held his arm firmly, making sure he wouldn’t be able
to run away. “This is…”
“Yeah,
this is Akuma’s house – also your child-hood home. He’s been waiting for you
for a while now, so don’t keep him waiting for much longer. Else you’ll have an
even worse punishment then he has planned for you.” Kurkoren explained with
sympathy – Lex was his friend after all. His best friend.
“O-okay…
What do I have to speak about? Report what I’ve been doing or- or… Or something
else?”
Kurkoren
leaned closer, whispering in his ear. “About Anouke.” He paused and leaned
back, giving Lex some space. “I can walk you inside, but at his command, I’ll
have to leave.”
“Okay.
Stay as long as possible…” He rubbed the back of his neck nervously before
entering. “Here I go.”
Lex
reached for the door knob, twisting it with his fingertips and pushed the door
open slowly. Kurkoren walked in front of him and lead him to the dining room.
Akuma sat at the chair at the top of the table, fingers intertwined and elbows
rested upon the tables surface. “Well, well. If it isn’t Lex.” He said and
stood up from the chair.
Like
a shadow manifesting from a sudden stream of light, Akuma interposed himself
between Kurkoren and Lex. “You may leave now, Kurkoren.” Akuma said – it was an
order, not an option. Kurkoren nodded and gave a slight bow before stalking out
of the room calmly. “How have you been, my son?” Akuma asked.
But when he looked
up at Akuma, there was also a subtle glimmer of rage.
