Chapter Fourteen: Emilia
Emilia was paired with a petite girl with golden skin and long lush black hair to her knees. She’s so cool! I want to be friends with her! “Hi! I’m Emilia Alvarado! I go by she/her pronouns! Who are you?”
“Khalliun. She/her.” Khalliun returned to focus on the task at hand.
“That’s such a pretty name! This activity reminds me of cooking. It’s methodical and calming. Dirt is disgusting though if you ask me.”
Khalliun nodded.
“I wish that dirt didn’t stick to people as much. Or if it was in a more organized space at all times. Dirt roads are so hard to walk on because all you can think of is, why is this not paved into a better road?”
Khalliun nodded again and this time smiled.
Emilia ended up talking for the rest of class. Does she like me? I hope I’m not annoying her. Khalliun followed her as she joined the group. “Hi everyone, this is Khalliun! My new friend.”
Khalliun waved.
Brie waved back to her. “I’m Brie, he/him, what are your pronouns?”
Khalliun looked to Emilia. She wants me to say. “She goes by she/her pronouns.”
Khalliun nodded and Emilia smiled. “Yup! Anyway, what’s our next class? Hopefully, we have it with Ravenclaw.”
“Or Slytherin.” Blue said and everyone turned around.
“You’re here.” Brie said flatly.
“Yeah.” Blue looked down at the ground. “I am.” He laughed. “The whole thing that I said could’ve been read the wrong way, but I guarantee you, whatever way is the least offensive way to take what I said in class, take it that way.”
Brie glared at him. “Listen, you’re unstable. Acting up isn’t going to help you get anywhere in life.”
Natsuki smiled. “Let’s get to defense against the dark arts. We got that with Ravenclaw.”
“Really? Again?” Emilia asked.
“Yeah, it seems as though Gryffindor and Slytherin have a disproportionate amount of classes together.
