The sound of a motorcycle in the culdesac of Cherry Lane wasn't common nor welcomed. Then again happiness wasn't welcome, nothing loud was allowed. It was that type of neighborhood with the HOA who would break into your garage cause you wouldn't allow them to make sure everything was in its place. Now the people of Cherry Lane were very nice but there were people who just wanted it their way. But they couldn't do anything if no one cared. As the motorcycle rolled to a stop in front of the Mclane family's walkway Marcy Mary watched from her porch, as she always did. Jasmine waited for Taylor to get off of the bike before she put up the kickstand, taking off her helmet as she got off the bike. She noticed Mrs.Marcy standing on her porch and at first glance could tell the woman wasn't...the nicest. "Don't worry, she won't come over here. She's too scared of my parents. She came over to complain about the pride flag they put up after I came out and my mother took it personally." Taylor smiled as she pointed at the pride flag proudly waving in the wind.
"How does she feel about gay black people?" Jasmine asked giving Mrs.Marcy a death glare that sent her inside.
"I don't know....She did call the cops on the neighbor's kid for playing in the street. At least that's what she said it was for but we all knew it was because he was black." Taylor frowned, changing the subject Jasmine took the motorcycle helmet and returned it to the storage. "So...your gay?" Taylor asked shifting her wait.
"If by gay you mean lesbian, then yes." Jasmine smile standing.
"Cool..."
"Taylor! Invite your friend in!" Taylor's face went beet red as she turned to see her mother standing on the porch waving her arms around like a crazy person while her father watched with a huge smile on his face.
"Do you want to come in? Please?" Taylor asked trying not to die out of embarrassment.
"Yeah, sure. Just give me a minute I have to tell my Dad." Jasmine smiled pulling her phone out of her pocket.
The girl every boy wanted and every girl wanted to be only wanted the one person in the entire school who didn't want her or to be her, the quiet kid who just wants to be left alone so the day can go by without there being a total disaster like catching the attention of the whole student body because the head cheerleader likes her.
