Chapter Fifteen: Gale
Charms were nice. It was Gryffindor and Slytherin. There was this girl named Hermione Granger. She was a genius. Professor Flitwick was teaching them how to float stuff with charms. A spell he’d learned a few years back using his Uncle’s wand. His aunt and uncle had been adamant that he should be ahead in life. “Wingardium leviosa.” Hermione said.
The feather floated. Gale nodded. “Wingardium leviosa.” His feather floated. Hermione and Gale nodded at each other. She seems really cool.
“Great!” Flitwick said. “Gale and Hermione, you did a great job, you’re the only two to get this. You two will be paired from now on.”
Ron Weasley glared at both of them. “Honestly, you all are just good in the magic department to make up for your lack of social skills.” I’m just good at magic because I practiced it.
“That’s oddly specific.” Gale said, waltzing over to Hermione. He kissed her hand. Ron’s face went red. “You’re just the lackey to the idiot who doesn’t know how to style his hair.” Did I go too far? No… that’s my slogan, I am always right unless I’m wrong in which I’ll be right about admitting I was wrong.
Ron glared at him. Gale went, “Wingardium leviosa” and floated a stone that Ron was holding. “Huh, pink bullseye with a smiley face on it. It’s delightful, you can keep it.”
“Yeah, you better give it back to me! My sister gave it to me!”
“Yeah, yeah I’m giving it to you.”
“You know nothing of family and loyalty-” I do. It’s just complicated. Gale tucked the rock into Ron’s hand, “and I’m here to tell you that you are the worst.” I know. But can you please just shut the hell up?
Gale did a bow. He turned to Hermione, “did you see what an outstanding person I was giving Ron Weasley the rock?”
Everyone seemed to be glaring at him for some reason. Okay, so Hermione doesn’t approve of you, big deal. Gale sat down. “Okay, you did not. You did great on that charm by the way.”
