Scarlett's POV 

Two years later

As I ran my hands along the groves on the basement walls, that we carved to keep track of the days.The first few weeks were filled with hope that Dad would realize that we weren't there and he would look for us. However, after we overheard that Dad wasn't even living in the house and had moved into his own apartment by himself something broke in all of us. From that point on we realized that from now on the only people that we could rely on were each other. Little did we know soon we would be torn apart from each other.

Coming back to the present I was filled sorrow over the fact that it had been just over two years since we had hadn't seen anything but this basement. We had long lost any hope of getting out of here

Now Lucas and Jackson were both 12, the twins and I were 11.

Two years I thought, I had an ominous feeling about today. When I saw Stacy followed by a bald man who looked very eager about something I knew that the ominous feeling I felt had been right. When Lucas and Jackson saw Stacy and the man coming down the stairs they moved in front of us trying to shield the twins and I from whatever was going to happen next. However, I knew it wouldn't do much good because they had been giving a lot of their food to us and were in worse shape than the twins and I. Stacy and the man finally reached the bottom of the stairs and said to the man, " Well these are the ones for sale, you can have your pick of any of them or more than one. Take all of them for all I care" . Hearing that this man was interested in buying one or more of us was terrifying. While we all were getting over the shock of what was happening the bald man had started to inspect us. After was felt like hours but was actually minutes the man finally came to an decision. He turned to Stacy and said " I'll take the girl and the twins but the older boys aren't in good enough shape ". After we heard this we were even more mortified of what was happening. Stacy walked up to us and kicked Lucas and Jackson away. She then grabbed me by my hair and proceeded to drag me up the stairs. The bald man fallowed in suit and roughly took hold of the twins arms and drag them up the stairs behind me.
