Wolf-rats fills the niches of the apex predator left void in the harsh lands of Heartland. They've grown to the size of a wolf, and their incisors have grown into a sabre-tooth like structure to facilitate in hunting. Reinforced by iron deposits within the teeth, these jaws can bite through bones like butter. Born in the centre of Heartland, the radiation has mostly stripped them of their eyesight. However, they've gained ability to echolocate like bats. The large ears and nose structure facilitate in echolocation. While the frequency they use is outside of human's hearing range, the are reports of vibration being felt when a wolf-rat is near by. Paired all those with the unusually high intelligence and opposable thumbs, there's nowhere to hide in Heartland.
