Everybody was in relief when Commander Moon and Maxfire returned home with Trainee Blue safe and sound. Lostleap gave her news that Chief Duck found that Bluestep was plotting to murder Hawkwing and rule over Misty Family with an iron fist.
I’m not ready for all this, Commander Moon had thought when Lostleap told her this. Thankfully that was all he needed to say before she was able to go to her den and finally take a nap.
However, her nap didn’t last long when she felt the ground shaking and wondering if an earthquake was happening. She laid in her nest and opened her eyes to find that it was night but the voice she heard was one she had not heard for over three months.
“Look who’s back to get more money!” Jeremiah’s loud voice rang across camp.
Annoyed, Commander Moon decided to find out what Jeremiah wanted now. If it was her kits, she was surely going to take her claws and rip something off his body.
“Don’t you have enough money piled up somewhere in that castle of yours?” Sheep snorted.
“You can never have too much money,” Jeremiah retorted.
Commander Moon stood beside Sheep. “Alright, what do you want now?”
Jeremiah smiled and raised one claw to point at her nose. “A butterfly came and told me that exotic weather happens here, and I can win lots of money if I capture photos of this,” he explained pointing to the camera around his neck.
“And why are you here in our camp?” Commander Moon asked.
“I need your weather forecast of when the next weird storm will happen,” Jeremiah said.
Sheep gave him a glare. “We’re not the weather channel, Jeremiah, go find some local household and watch the news with them,” she barked.
The large reptile folded his arms together. “Humans can’t predict weather right, missy,” he snorted.
Before Commander Moon could say a word, what appeared to look like a small dragon latched its fangs onto Jeremiah’s shoulder. All her campmates besides her started laughing when Jeremiah was struggling to rip the dragon off his shoulder.
Small tears of pain appeared on Jeremiah’s enraged face as he struggled to take the dragon off. He slammed a fist on the head of the dragon, and it shot an ice shard in the sky that caused a light sprinkle of snow into the Moon Family camp.
“What is going on?” Riverbird meowed to Commander Moon who shrugged.
“It’s best you leave now, you disgrace of a reptile,” a new voice spoke.
Commander Moon padded her way to the side of the camp where she could see the one Jeremiah was facing off. To her surprise, it was an individual with a dark green sweater on. She squinted her eyes to see the face, but it was as if something blocked the eyes from seeing. I don’t see how he’s wearing a hood but that’s what it appears to be.
“How dare you call me a disgrace?” Jeremiah growled loudly. He took one quick second to snap a couple pictures of the light snow that was falling into the camp still. He then turned back to the individual. “I am King Jeremiah, show some respect, peasant!”
“Jeremiah, back off,” Commander Moon whispered. She didn’t know why she feared this individual. The individual stared at Commander Moon and a pair of striking orange-red eyes appeared in her mind for a quick second. What?
“If you do not leave, I will have to erase your existence,” the man said. “We do not need you to take any light that rests here.”
Jeremiah snorted fire. “Well, I got what I want,” he muttered before stomping out of camp.
“The light will be ours to control,” the man said before fading in shadows.
Commander Moon closed her eyes. This guy must’ve been connected to the one who who’s been pestering her. Shaking her head, she headed back to her den while the others tarried off to their dens as well.

Commander Moon opened her eyes to find herself back in the Dream World. Looking around, she was expecting to see Noseherb again but instead, it was new Shining Skies cat. Just like when she first saw Noseherb, she didn’t recognize this molly.
Her coat had the sparkles of a Shining Skies cat but her actual fur color was a rose pink with a cherry red colored tail. Her emerald, green eyes burned into Commander Moon’s, making her feel slightly intimidated. “H-hello?”
“I am Commander Glitter, the first commander of Glitter Family,” the rose-pink molly’s voice rang.
“What’s a Glitter Family?” Commander Moon asked not remembering any Glitter Family existing anywhere in Darkfall.
Commander Glitter patted Commander Moon on the head with her paw. “Well, it’s a pretty awesome Family but they live quite some ways from you guys,” she purred. “I could go on and on and on about them if you like.”
“N-no thanks,” Commander Moon stuttered. Geez, this molly sure is vain about her Family. Switching subjects, she asked. “Why are you here?”
“Oh yes!” Commander Glitter exclaimed. “You see, Bluestep is kind of planning some bad stuff and will be unleashing in like the near future I believe.”
“Okay, what is it?” Commander Moon urged getting annoyed.
“He wants to send a whole bunch of dogs after you guys by telling them lies,” Commander Glitter explained looking saddened.
Commander Moon held her breath. “How many?”
“A whole pack of wolves, darling.” Commander Glitter was inspecting her paw.
“But you said dogs, not wolves,” Commander Moon growled. How in the world was this a first Commander for any Family if she mixes up the simplest of things?
Commander Glitter just shrugged. “I can’t really remember, mind’s been fogged up, y’know,” she mewed. She floated on over to Commander Moon’s side and placed a paw on her shoulder. “But, hey, these guys are canines either way.”
Commander Moon scowled. She wanted to get advice from Shining Skies about the mysterious voice in her head but not with this chick. Just watching her lying on her back and watching the endless skies of the Dream World was making her sick.
Since the Glitter Family cat was just having the time of her life, Commander Moon decided to wake up. When waking up, she found herself staring eye to eye with the pony she met at the last Monthly Meeting. “What are you doing here?”
“Someone took Lily and Sean!” yelled Color Breeze.
“Are you serious?” Commander Moon hissed. She raced out the den with Color Breeze and found Sparrowclaw and Trainee Willow standing at the camp entrance.
Sparrowclaw perked up when he saw Commander Moon. “This pack of wolves just snatched up Lily and Sean while Lionpool was asleep!”
And only those two? Commander Moon was shocked. She looked over her shoulder to see Lionpool hushing her kits who were crying. Angered, she charged out of camp with Color Breeze flying overhead.
“Hey,” Commander Moon called to the wolves. They didn’t listen as they continued to run. She pushed herself and was racing alongside a wolf that had a boy strapped onto its back, holding onto the sleeves of the boy’s shirt. “Hey, kid, you alright?”
“Do I look alright?” The boy snapped. “These wolves snatched me up while I was doing homework outside.”
Can Bluestep mind control? Commander Moon wondered. These wolves could very well be heading to Bluestep right now.
“Now’s your chance to destroy Bluestep,” The voice in her head spoke. “Just follow the wolves.”
I didn’t ask for your help, Commander Moon hissed. She rather have absent-minded Commander Glitter over this man who she didn’t know. However, looking at the wolves all their eyes were the same color as the eyes she saw last night.
“We’re almost there!” Color Breeze called to Commander Moon.
“Have you seen Lily and Sean?” yowled the purple molly.
“The wolves at the front have them,” Color Breeze told her. “I’ll catch them once we stop.”
The boy on top of the wolf looked at Commander Moon. “You’ll save me too?” She nodded.
As they ran down the hill, Commander Moon realized they were heading really close to the Bird Family border. Nervous, she hoped the Commander there wouldn’t jump them for being so close like Pineclaw did to Trainee Blue for accidentally crossing the border. Shaking all those worries she skidded to a stop when all the wolves stopped in sync which was kind of creepy.
Up ahead, Color Breeze flew down and back up with Lily and Sean on her back. Commander Moon sliced the boy’s sleeve a little, so he could get out of the wolves’ grasp. She hopped over the wolves with the boy squeezing past them, so they could join Color Breeze who was hiding beside the tree.
In front of all the wolves was a blue-gray six tailed fox that Commander Moon didn’t recognize. He was the same color as Bluestep, and she wondered if this was his true identity.
“Wolves,” Bluestep greeted. “Today, we’ll take the life of Hawkwing and anyone who sides with him in that puny Family.”
All the wolves pointed their muzzles up to the clear morning sky, “We’ll take only Hawkwing’s life and then put light under darkness!”
“Those wolves are weird,” the boy whispered.
“No kidding,” Lily mewled. “They’ve been chanting light and darkness all the way here.”
That’s a weird thing to chant about, Commander Moon thought.
Bluestep stomped one paw down. “I said nothing about the light, you imbeciles!” He howled.
“Darkness will rule forever!” The wolves continued. “You’ll never reign Misty Family!”
“Commander Moon, I’m scared,” Sean whimpered.
Zoned out from what the red tom kitten said, Commander Moon begins to crawl her way on over to Bluestep. These wolves were acting very abnormal which was not something Commander Glitter had told her about. Hopefully there wasn’t any other detail that molly forgot to tell her about.
Hoping none of the wolves would call her out, Commander Moon kept to the side. She was grateful they still had their noses up at the sky and chanting weird things about the light and darkness. It was weird, but it was great advantage for her. Heart beating, Commander Moon was getting really close now.
Taking a deep breath, Commander Moon leaped at Bluestep who looked at her with wide eyes. “Where did you-”
Bam! Commander Moon sliced her claws down Bluestep’s cheek. She landed in front of the wolf pack and gasped when Bluestep’s tail started glowing. “You’ll feel my wrath!” He shot shards of ice at Commander Moon.
Quickly, Commander Moon jumped out of the way, but all the wolves got hit by it. Instantly, all their eyes changed color and were no longer the same striking orange-red eyes anymore. Shifting her glance over to Color Breeze, she yowled, “RUN!”
Nodding her head, Color Breeze flew off with the boy following closely behind. Before Commander Moon could run, the wolves went into total panic at not knowing where they were making it harder for her to get out. I’m so done for.
“I’ve got you now!” Bluestep hurried and slashed at Commander Moon’s throat causing her vision to go black.
***
“Is she going to make it?”
“Thanks to you, Yellowtip, she wasn’t stripped of all her lives.”
“And the wolves?”
“Thankfully those barn cats were able to get them back to Wolf Fang safe and sound.”
Commander Moon slowly opened her eyes to see the walls of the Doctor’s Cave. Her throat was burning, and she wondered how she survived. She did an invisible face paw when she remembered she has seven lives now. She looked up and saw Riverbird chatting happily with a trumpeter swan.
“Commander, you’re awake!” Riverbird exclaimed.
Commander Moon smiled weakly. She couldn’t find the strength to talk right now, forcing herself to use facial expressions. Riverbird slid some moss that was filled with water up to Commander Moon’s mouth. “Drink this, if you’re thirsty,” the light blue molly purred.
Commander Moon gave a faint purr. She was grateful to be alive at least. Relief fell upon her when she heard Color Breeze and the boy outside playing with Lily and Sean. They’re safe…but Bluestep’s still out there…
“You rest, Commander Moon, I’ll be going to warn Hawkwing about Bluestep’s plan,” Riverbird meowed. She looked at her Trainee. “I trust that Trainee Feather will make sure of that.”
Trainee Feather sat up tall to make himself look bigger. Commander Moon smiled as she fell back to asleep. Be careful, Riverbird…
