One month passed after Commander Moon’s injury and she was finally up to returning to her duties. Hawkwing has stepped up patrols but still hasn’t made it to the Sparkle Star as he was worried about getting ambushed by Bluestep on the way there.
Commander Moon was on edge a bit as well. On some days, she’s been constantly bothered by this deep voice. It wasn’t annoying, there was some charisma in the way this voice speaks that causes her to listen. More so than Commander Glitter who didn’t have the right mindset for the most part.
Peace hasn’t even settled in when Pigeon flies through the camp entrance. “Commander Moon! There’s a huge dragon causing trouble!” He chirped.
Shining Skies, why? Commander Moon just hopped down. She gathered up some Guardians and Trainees and headed outside camp. It wasn’t a surprise that there was more trouble as a Shining Skies cat visited one day to tell her this. I can’t wait until they all just disappear.
Pigeon was right, a huge ruby colored Flareflame Dragon was hovering over the few trees in Moon Family territory. Her eyes gleamed as she spotted the patrol and dived down towards them. “She’s coming!” Villie growled.
All of them sidestepped and allowed the dragon to get her head stuck by slamming it down too hard on the ground. Commander Moon and Trainee Fire tag teamed and slashed right down the dragon’s head. Pigeon was going join in the battle as well when a bolt of lightning struck down on the dragon.
“Curses!” She growled. Once she got her head out of the ground, she flew back in the sky.
“I’m joining too!” Another voice chimed in, and Commander Moon groaned when she saw Jeremiah Jr. hovering on over in his balloon.
What…? Commander Moon was dumbfounded for a moment until Lostleap tackled her away as the large dragon swiped her claws down. She snapped out of it and gazed at Jeremiah Jr. pressed a button and his ship was blowing fire at them.
Pigeon flew over and started flapping his wings to direct the fire away from the trees. The ruby colored Flareflame Dragon flew beside Jeremiah Jr. “That’s cute, now watch a real fire breath!” She inhaled and was about to shoot out a fireball at the cat when another lightning bolt struck her in the back.
“Where are those coming from?” Trainee Fire asked looking at Commander Moon.
“Someone’s shooting them out, that’s for sure,” Commander Moon mumbled watching Jeremiah Jr. laugh at a now shocked Flareflame Dragon. His laughs didn’t last long either when an electrical spark shocked him. Who is doing this?
The Flareflame Dragon eventually recovered but flew off, probably in fear of getting another electric shock but Jeremiah Jr. stayed. He was crying a little, but he pointed a finger at the cats. “Which one of you has electric powers?”
No one in the battle patrol spoke but all of them did hear someone clapping. All of them, including Jeremiah Jr., turned to see someone wearing a dark red robe walk over toward them. His face was also covered up by some shadowy hood.
“What is with everyone in attacking Moon Family lately?” He asked.
“They’re cats, and cats are mean and disgusting,” Jeremiah Jr. retorted. “Only one cat is good, and his name is Lightningface.”
“Aww, cats aren’t that bad,” the hooded individual said. He stood there in silence in a couple of seconds before grabbing the shadowy hood and taking it off. “I think cats are pretty cool in my opinion.”
With the hood off, Commander Moon could tell this individual was a teenager with spiky orange hair and bright blue eyes. He certainly looked friendly seeing as he helped them with the huge dragon. Jeremiah Jr stuck his tongue out. “You’re weird.”
“You’re not the first one to tell me that,” the teenager said. “However, I’ve been given orders to drive any enemies off.” There was an electrical spark before the teenager summoned two boomerangs. “After all, I might not appear to be intimidating at all.”
Jeremiah Jr. rolled his eyes but instantly regrets not moving when one of the boomerangs hit his balloon and rips a hole. “Wait!” He roared as the balloon flies him off into the distance.
Commander Moon looked at her Campmates. “Was not expecting this,” she meowed. She turned to the teenager. “Thanks for the help.”
“Don’t bother,” he said coldly. “I was…only going by the orders I was given.” He put back on the hood that hid his identity. He backed slowly before disappearing into the shadows.
And I thought he said cats were cool, Commander Moon thought to herself before turning back to camp.

“I’m sure we don’t need you guys to come with us,” Riverbird mumbled. She was giving both Commander Moon and Trainee Blue a dirty look. Trainee Feather didn’t look bothered at all as he stood by Trainee Blue.
“You never know what could happen?” Commander Moon pointed out.
Riverbird started sniffing through the bushes within the territory before muttering, “I swear losing a life has made you paranoid.”
“As a Doctor, do you get dreams?” Trainee Blue asked Trainee Feather who was checking around one the trees that a Barn Owl named Soot lived in.
Trainee Feather looked up, holding a bundle of waterberries in his mouth. “Sometimes, but I think I’m still inexperienced to ever receive any,” he purred.
Commander Moon couldn’t help but frown for a second. He hoped Trainee Feather’s first dream didn’t involve Commander Glitter. Noseherb wouldn’t be so bad since he was wise from what she could tell. While Trainee Blue continued asking questions, Commander Moon spotted Hawkwing heading over to their border.
Leaving the two Trainees, she went over to greet him. “Hawkwing, how has things been?”
“Terrible,” he muttered. “It seems my Campmates don’t really want to take orders from me.”
“Oh,” Commander Moon lowered her ears. It’s already been a month since Commander Gray had been murdered by Bluestep.
Hawkwing sat down and wrapped one tail over his paws. “I have an idea, it’s silly, but I think it might work,” he meowed.
“I’m all ears,” Commander Moon purred.
Laughing, Hawkwing stood up. “I’m planning on getting my nine lives tonight,” he meowed. “To make sure I’m safe, I’m wondering if we can have other people in that area doing whatever.”
Commander Moon flicked one ear. “Are you going early?”
“I think that’ll be the better option,” Hawkwing meowed. He looked up at the sky and sighed. “These two boys named Lucky and Mouse Floyd have agreed to meet around the time the sun sets.”
“I know some ducks and a crew of Olympic contestants,” Commander Moon purred. She remembered when some of her own members introduced her to these guys a couple months ago.
“I think that’ll be enough,” Hawkwing meowed. “You can be my bodyguard, if you’re not too busy.”
“S-sure,” Commander Moon meowed, flattered. “I’ll meet you here before the sun starts setting.”
“Thank you,” Hawkwing purred. He bounced off back to own camp.
Commander Moon stared after him and purred. Soon, Misty Family would be restored with a strong leader. “You’re doing amazing, Commander.”
I’m not even going to respond to that, Commander Moon hissed. She trotted on back to camp after realizing that the others have already returned.

Commander Moon was sitting on the Moon Rock, watching her Campmates chatting with each other. Stormwing was playing with Peach, Yoshe, and Storm while Lionpool watched her kits intently. She frowned when Pigeon came back into camp with a happy expression.
“Commander Moon, there’s a cat who wants to meet you,” Pigeon chirped.
I wonder who, Commander Moon followed Pigeon right outside camp. It was literally right outside as she came face to face with a gold tabby molly with beautiful blue eyes. “Hello, I’m Commander Moon.”
“I’m Commander Blaze of the Blaze Family,” the gold tabby meowed. “I’ve heard you’re a lot like us and I wanted to propose the idea of us being allies.”
Commander Moon smiled. “It wouldn’t hurt to have allies,” she purred. Considering all the mess they’ve been through over the last month was starting to get to her.
“Marvelous,” Commander Blaze mewed. “Tell your little bird friend here to give me a call if you need help!”
“Of course,” Commander Moon called after the gold tabby who walked away. She then looked up to Pigeon. “Have you seen that teenager anywhere?”
“Sadly, I have not,” Pigeon chirped. He lifted his head. “But I’ll keep an eye out for one.”
The two of them walked inside camp to see Sheep waiting for them. “Commander Moon, um, I’m moving to the Nursery,” she woofed.
“You’re expecting?” Commander Moon exclaimed. “Who’s the father?”
Sheep shuffled her paws in the ground. “Well, I would like to keep it a secret,” she murmured before running off to the nursery.
There was a yowl that came from the Trainees’ Cave causing Commander Moon to jump. She hurried on over to see Trainee Will in his nest panting heavily with his brother staring at him with wide eyes. There were multiple cuts across the young tom’s body.
What happened? Commander Moon thought. “Trainee Will, are you okay?”
“Why…were we…there?” Trainee Will stammered. “Darkness…I think I was in darkness…”
Riverbird squeezes past Commander Moon with leaves in her mouth. She started to perform her work by putting some sort of gooey stuff on the cuts. Commander Moon was confused on what Trainee Will was talking about. He was in darkness?
“Probably some nightmare,” Riverbird concluded. “Don’t know why you’re in cuts.”
“Monsters,” was all the brown tom said. “They were after all of us.”
Freaked out, Commander Moon backed out to go visit her kits. “I heard you forged an alliance with another Family,” Lionpool purred.
“I think we’ll need them in the future,” Commander Moon said nonchalantly. Her three kits ran up to her with bright eyes. She couldn’t believe they were getting so big.
“I’m concerned about those individuals,” Lionpool muttered. “What do they have to hide?”
“We’ll worry about them later,” Commander Moon said bluntly.
“Are you sure? They seem to have interest in us,” Lionpool pressed. She shrank back when Commander Moon glared at her.
What I’m trying to say is that I don’t want to stress about people who aren’t even harming us, Commander Moon thought. She nuzzled her kits’ heads and they all smiled. All they needed to worry about was Bluestep and maybe Porphyry, but she hasn’t even seen the purple fox recently.
“Who did Sheep get with?” Lionpool asked.
“Not sure, she rather keep it secret,” Commander Moon meowed. “I don’t want to force her into telling us.”
“I guess I’m just worrying too much,” Lionpool sighed.
Commander Moon didn’t say anything as she glanced at Sheep was curled up asleep in her nest. Maybe in due time the sheep dog will reveal the father of her children. I’m sure their father isn’t that bad of a guy.
