The character development was great and I love how your story didn't have to be put into excruciating detail for readers to understand what happened and how the character learned to grow and learn. I also really like how he acknowledges and doesn't blame himself over the fact that his partner left. It takes some strong to have that kind of an outlook on this type of situation.
