"Dear Cosmos, spare me one more minute of this." Vega groaned as she continued to fill out her giant packet of paperwork.
I giggle.
"I hate this," she pouts as she turns to the next page.
"What does he have on you?" I push.
"You're not going to let it go, are you?" she says as a statement.
"Nope," I scoot closer next to her.
She sighs.
"Tell me," I pout.
"You know out of all my girlfriends you are by far the nosiest."
"I'll take that as a compliment. It just means I care enough about you to get to know you. Unlike others."
She smiled at me and shook her head before kissing me.
"Kissing me won't distract me from my goal," I smile against her lips before she kisses me again.
"Don't underestimate me," she set her packet of papers down and pushed me down onto the bed.
I feel my heart skip a beat.
She pulls back to look at me with those deep blue eyes, and like usual, I am hopeless against her. I could just stare at her all day. God, she's so pretty. She smirks, noticing the effect she has on me, before kissing me again.
Hey Cosmos, if you are for real, make this moment last as long as possible.
I wrap my arms around her neck and deepen the kiss. Vega moans into my mouth and her hand trails up my shirt. I gasp into her mouth. My shirt restricts her too much and she pulls her hand back, opting to start unbuttoning it instead. She gets three buttons in before she moves her lips to my stomach. Each kiss is as hot as a branding iron, god I hope this never ends.
As if mocking me, Dariyah walks into the room at that exact moment.
Gee thanks Cosmos, you're a real pal.
"Oh my god," Dariyah gags out loud.
Vega pulls back with a sigh.
"I'm going to be sick," Dariyah gags.
"Ugh!" I cover my face with a pillow.
"And this is why we always go to your room, and not mine," Vega says.
"My eyes, my eyes!" Dariyah runs out of the room.
"You're so dramatic, we weren't even doing anything yet!" I shout after her.
Vega laughs.
"Ugh," I sit up.
"You're so cute when you're flustered," Vega pushes some of my hair behind my ear.
I blush and avert my gaze from her.
She giggles and kisses me on the cheek.
Curse her for being so cute.
She grabs the ends of my shirt and rebuttons the buttons for me.
I pout.
"So what were we talking about before?" she asks.
For a moment, I really did forget. But only for a moment.
"Hey!" I complain.
She giggles.
"You play dirty," I grumble.
"You know it," she kisses me.
"I'll get you," I pinch her.
She giggles.
"Come on," she grabs my hand and pulls me off the bed.
"Where are we going?" I ask as she slips her shoes on and grabs two jackets. One for herself, and one for me.
"Come on," she pulls me downstairs.
We go outside into the cold and trek through the snow, our shoes digging in and leaving behind footprints.
"Where are taking me?" I giggle as she tugs me along.
"You'll see," she keeps leading the way.
We walk across campus to this secluded spot behind some trees, a giant rock in the middle. We are the only two people here.
"What is this place?" I ask.
"This is a well-known Caster hangout spot where people take their significant others. We call it Swallow Rock."
"Ew!"
"Not like that!" she slaps me in the arm.
"Then explain yourself."
"Come here," she laughs and tugs me to the rock in question.
I eye the rock as we approach it.
"This isn't just any old rock. It's a natural Caster Energy generator. This whole campus is said to be sitting on a bunch of these guys. It's why they built the school in this spot. This rock can absorb your energy and spit it out into something else. Hence the name, it swallows your energy and spits it back out. Try." She urges.
"Okay, but if nothing happens, I am really going to question your motives," I say.
She laughs.
I concentrate and focus my energy into a little ball in my hand, it forms a dim light. Then I "feed" it to the rock. It absorbs it.
I watch the rock glow dimly before a spark of light shot out of the rock and into the sky like a silent firework it explodes and rains down little light orbs.
"Whoa!" I say.
"Whoa, I've never seen that before." Vega stares up at the sky.
The little light orbs dance around us, lighting up the entire clearing.
"Awesome," I laugh as I look around.
"Okay, even I wasn't expecting this. It must really like your Star Caster energy." Vega smiles as she looks around.
I poke a light orb and they all start dancing around me and changing colors.
"They like me," I giggle.
Vega takes a picture of me with her phone.
"You try now," I say.
"Okay," she puts her energy into the rock.
A pink wave of energy is spat back out and suddenly we are hearing old-fashioned parlor music, and everything turns black and white. My mind feels euphoric.
"Well this is a new one, usually it just makes me feel high." Vega laughs.
"I kind of do feel funny," I say.
She laughs even harder, I laugh too.
Vega grabs my hand and we start dancing all silly like in the clearing with the rainbow lights dancing around us and as nonexistent music plays. Every time the light orbs get closer to us, we turn from black and white to color.
I can't stop laughing, I just feel so happy.
We slip in the snow and fall to the ground, laughing so hard we are crying.
Then all too soon, the lights start to fade away with the music and black and white filter on life.
"That was amazing," I giggle as I stare up at the night sky.
Vega turns to me and smiles.
I turn to her and smile back.
She gets that look on her face again, for just a second, a flash. Then she pulls me into her arms and kisses me. Hard, passionately, almost like she's not holding herself back anymore. I roll on top of her and kiss her back with equal intensity.
She sits up and I wring my hands in her now damp and snow-filled hair.
She pulls back, slowly, her lips lingering against mine.
"I love you," she whispers.
"I love you too." I kiss her again.
She rests her forehead against mine.
"Thank you for showing me this," I say.
She's silent for a moment.
"You okay?" I caress her cheek.
"I... I have to tell you something." She says.
"What is it?"
She meets my eyes, I can see the fear and vulnerability in them. It puts me on edge.
She tries to say something but only stutters come out followed by a heavy sigh.
"Vega?"
"I'm scared," she whispers.
"Why?"
She shakes her head no.
"Tell me," I urge.
"You'll think I'm silly."
"No I won't, promise."
"I'm scared... of you."
"Me!?"
She nods.
"Why?"
"Because... I really like you. I haven't felt like this in a long time. I don't understand it, and it scares me a little. You have this power over me I can't explain, it's something I've never felt before. All I want to do is be by your side 24/7 and protect you, even if it brings harm to me. I'm scared that once you really get to know me, you won't feel the same."
"That's not true," I pull her closer to me. "You know it's not true. You know this scares me too, but I'm not going to run from it. I can't even if I wanted to. I love you. I'll always love you, no matter what."
"I'm sorry I ruined the moment."
"Don't apologize. This is what I want from you. I want you to open up to me, to trust me, because I trust you."
"You do?" she meets my eyes.
I smile and nod, then to prove myself to her I unbutton the top buttons of my shirt and show her my star mark on my chest, just above my cleavage. She eyes it for a moment before her hand moves to touch it, lightly tracing it with her fingertips.
"I do," I say.
She leans down and kisses it, softly. Then she pulls back and rebuttons my shirt for me.
I press my forehead against hers and nuzzle my nose against hers.
It's so strange, I've never been in a relationship before. But all I want to do is be near her and cuddle her and touch her and feel her warmth near me. I want it so badly, it makes me feel sick when I haven't seen her all day. I just want to pull her into my arms and squeeze her and never let her go.
I feel so connected to her and it does scare me a little. But not enough to push me away. Maybe that's a mistake on my part, maybe not, only time will tell. But as of now, I'm sure we are meant to be together.
I know she feels the same.
"Come on, let's head back to my room and cuddle with coco. Get warmed up." I stand up and pull her up too.
She kisses me one last time, for good measure, to reassure me of her feelings. I melt into the kiss before pulling back.
"Coco sounds like heaven right now." She smiles.
"Then come on, last one back in a rotten egg." I start to run back.
"We'll see about that!" she runs ahead of me.
I giggle and let her get a head start, I'll just teleport there when I want.
But I'll let her have her fun.
As long as she's smiling then that's all that matters.
