Nowell: (Not much time left.) "Hey Morris let's talk in private around 1:00 in the morning, at me and Lay's cabin. What do you say?"
Morris: "1:00am at your cabin? Alright."
Nowell: "Good see ya until then. Tell no one."
Morris: "Ok."
Pence walked off.
Lay: "Can we trust that guy?"
Nowell: "What choice do we have, he's our shot out of here."
Lay: "Looks like it."
Nowell: "All we can do is keep a low profile and--"
Luna: "Hey there, you two!"
Nowell: "Huh? Maxdell's daughter? What are you doing out on the deck?"
Luna: "It's Luna! And I threatened father and uncle that I'd tell mom that I almost died and that they both went and decided to go on this crazy and dangerous trip instead of Jann to fight some deity, if they didn't let me get some fresh air, though it's only for today for 25 minutes and with security escorting me."
She said, pointing to them from a distance.
Nowell: (Talk about pointing a gun at them.) "Really? So I'm guessing because of the announcement you had no luck with convincing them to stop this journey?"
Luna: "Yes unfortunately, uncle was close two understanding but father was too stubborn and far gone to listen to me."
Nowell: "No luck then, huh?"
Luna: "None, but father did tell me the reason why this is so important to him."
Nowell: "Really why is it?"
[Flashback]
He told me it was to surpass his father.
Luna: "Father, why put yourself and others at risk for a fairytale that you heard!"
Ryan: "Foolish girl it is no fairytale the fruit of Glarera exists! My father's notes prove it!"
Luna: "And if it does, are you really going to fight something like an angel for it?! There might be creatures and beings on that island that your men won't be able to take down! The Krakus showcased that!"
Ryan: "Enough Luna! How do you even know about this objective of mine?! Did someone tell you?!"
Luna: "No I overheard your conversation with uncle!"
Ryan. "When did you!"
Luna: (I swore I wouldn't rat those two out.)
Ryan: "Regardless I've planned this for too long to walk away now, I know your mother would be incredibly upset if she found out about all this especially with you on board, but you must understand, I've been serious about this fruit since I was 14 when me and Charles lost our father that day."
Charles: "Ryan…"
Ryan: "Our father was a wise and adventurous man, so much that he would go on plenty of expeditions in the world to find treasure, he was an expert at it and made it his profession, not too long after he heard rumors about a fruit that was taken from our goddess and place down to our world, this immediately caught his interest and he decided to investigate and set out on his journey with a group of men a few being Crusaded Defenders, to find the fruit leaving me and Charles alone at our home, 2 weeks later two Crusaded Defenders approached our home and informed us our father had passed away."
Luna and Charles: "..."
Ryan: "I used to despise our father for leaving us like he did but I was even more enraged that the only survivors of his crew were the two at our door, Crusaded Defenders special individuals sworn to protect those who pay a good price, so why is it they only survived and not our father! I even thought at one point that those Crusaded Defenders backstabed my father."
Luna: "Dad."
Ryan: "I made it my duty to accomplish what my father set out to do that day and I'm not letting anything or anyone stop me like it did my father, I will avenge him."
[Present Time]
Nowell: "Wow he really loved and respected his father."
Luna: "Of course he did as I do mine, a father is the greatest role model to any child, and is important to have in the majority of their life."
Lay: "I disagree."
Luna: "What?!"
Lay: "Sometimes it's better if they aren't around."
Luna: "What do you mean?"
Nowell: "I get what Lay is saying although I didn't really know mine to well it is true that father's depending on the person they are, could definitely have a negative impact on their children, not all fathers are inspiring role models, sometimes they could be complete deadbeats and scumbags, so what Lay is pretty much saying is don't be naïve."
Luna: "I...I know that."
Lay: "..."
Luna: "But tell me do you have a good father?"
Lay: "That's none of your business."
Nowell: "Lay!"
Soldier 50: "Hey brat, show some respect to her!"
The man said, approaching.
Luna: "No it's fine I shouldn't have asked him, forgive me."
Nowell: "[Sigh]" (Jeez Lay.)
Charles: "Luna, there you are!"
Luna: "Hmm? Uncle? Is it time already?"
Charles: "No, I was wondering if you wanted something to eat? I'm cooking."
Luna: "Uncle's amazing and delicious cooking?! Yes please!"
Charles: "Honestly I don't think it's that amazing."
Luna: "No it's extraordinary beyond words! Hey you two should try some!"
Nowell:"Ah…"
Lay: "I'll pass."
Nowell: "L--Lay?"
Lay grabbed Nowell's shirt and whispered.
Lay: "Stop messing around and stay focused, remember your plan."
Nowell: "..."
Lay walked away.
Luna: "You guys aren't going to try any?"
Charles: "We'd be delighted if you joined us."
Nowell: "Well… sure I am pretty hungry, guess I can spare a few minutes."
Charles: "Fantastic!"
Later on, as Nowell joined the Maxdell's in the cafe, the ship had entered the storm; it was mild yet it felt that something was a mist, then 20 minutes passed.
Charles: "Alrighty have some Krakus soup!"
Luna: "Oh it looks and smells so delicious!"
Nowell: "Not sure I feel level headed eating the Krakus of all things. Did you even check to see if it's edible?"
Charles: "Of course, no way I would let my cooking sicken the people I serve, especially my niece."
Luna: "Stop worrying, my uncle is an excellent cook!"
Nowell: "Guess I'll take your word for it."
Soldier 50: "Whoa, this is really something."
Charles: "The rest of you men don't just stand there, sit down and dig in!"
5 Soldiers: "Yes, sir!"
Charles: "Please no honorifics here."
Nowell: (This Charles guy sure seems different from his brother.)
Charles: "You there boy, try some!"
Nowell: "Ah sure thanks for the meal."
Nowell took a sip and was completely swept off his feet at how exquisite the food was.
Nowell: "Holy Goodness! I've never had food so out of this world!"
Luna: "See told ya!"
Soldier 37: "Hey that kid is right, this is good!"
Charles: "Hehe thank you all, I put a lot of care into preparing the meal, enjoy!"
Nowell and everyone digged in, stuffing their faces and finished the meal.
Soldier 50: "Phew, I'm stuff that was great."
Luna: "Yep, uncle Charles never disappoints when it comes to his cooking!"
Charles: "I'm glad you all enjoyed it."
Luna: "If only father would have joined us!"
Charles: "Now, now Luna, your father is a busy man, we must not disturb him."
Luna: "But he can't just ignore us, we're his family! He should be here eating with us instead of focusing on his dumb research on some fruit!"
Charles: "Luna…"
Soldiers: (A fruit?)
Luna's guards thought.
Luna: "If he wants a fruit so bad just go to the food market for it!"
Charles: "[Sigh.]"
Nowell: "You know she does have a point."
Charles: "It can't be helped Ryan's doing what he believes will honor our father. All I could do is back him up as his brother."
Luna: “Even if it means possibly throwing away your lives?!”
Luna's guards: (????)
Charles: "I've always had your father's back in his dark time of need, ever since father's passing he stayed home studying learning whatever he could on the journey we are taking, he even avoided contact with children his age, he was a complete loner, so I decided I would be there for him."
Luna: (That explains why father has no friends.)
Charles: "We grew closer and became partners having each other's backs and using our wealth to plan expeditions and gain experience, wasn't long until Ryan met your mother Julia who was a navigator on one of our journeys."
Luna: "Mother told me the stories."
Charles: "But it was for this exact moment, we've poured a lot into this, so have faith in us Luna we'll all make it back home in one piece, I promise."
Luna: "..."
Nowell: "I should get going, thanks for the meal."
Charles: "Anytime young man it was good having the company, we should do this again!"
Luna: "Goodbye Nowell!"
Meanwhile, in Maxdell's quarters.
Ryan: "We've entered Glarera's field, soon, soon that treasured fruit will be mine, it's only a matter of time."
Meanwhile, back in Nowell and Lay's cabin.
Nowell: "Lay?"
Lay: "You're back? Well, did you at least get any useful information out of them?"
Nowell: "No ...but I kind of feel bad leaving that Luna girl and her uncle to deal with this mess on their own."
Lay: "Too bad it's what her father and Uncle decided, let them deal with it."
Nowell: "you're... you're right, let's just wait for Mr Morris to get here at 1 tonight."
As Nowell laid down, he looked at the necklace Luna gave him.
Nowell: (Sorry Luna but me and my partner don't take on odds we might not be able to overcome, try to understand.)
After a couple of hours passed, Lay and Nowell heard a knock on their door. Nowell cautiously looked to see who it was.
Morris: "I'm here as scheduled."
