CHAPTER:6

Unknown Territory

Meanwhile Maxdell and the crew headed into the jungle where it felt no different than an ordinary jungle, trees, bushes, rocks and a river present on the island. But something was still very wrong. 

Soldier 53: "Hey Maxdell do you know how to get to the exact location?" 

Ryan: "According to notes of the first expedition, we should head deep into the jungle and find a strange statue leading to a cave." 

Soldier 53: "A strange statue?" 

Soldier 42: "Why would there be a statue on this island? Isn't it uninhabited by civilization?" 

Ryan: "That is what the note says, and that is all we have to follow on." 

Soldier 53 and 42: (Is he serious?) 

The men thought with a confused look.

Ryan: "Move forward." 

Maxdell and Charles walked ahead. 

Soldier 53: "A strange statue?" 

Soldier 42: "Come on man, no point thinking about it let's just go." 

Soldier 53: "Yeah Whatever." 

The crew walked and walked deep into the jungle, with little breaks. 

Soldier 7: "[Deep breathing] are we there yet?" 

Soldier 4: "I wonder when we're going to pass that statue?" 

Soldier 53: "It better be soon. I can't see with all this fog.

Soldier 15: "A map would be nice." 

Soldier 2: "Less talking and more walking!" 

The men continued onward, then after 1 hour had taken a break. "We stopped here for now." The men collapsed on the ground.

Soldier 33: "Shit I'm tired!" 

Rise: "Someone give me a bottle!" 

One of the men threw a water bottle at Rise.

Rise: "I need a little refresher." 

Nowell: "Hey can we get one too?" 

Rise: "What you prisoners? After the ruckus you gave us? Uh uh no way." 

Nowell: "We're not going to be good bait if we're too tired out." 

Rise: "Hmmm, good point, here." 

Nowell: "Thanks, want any Lay?" 

Lay: "...No." 

Rise: "You two are probably thinking in order to free yourselves from my captivity you're going to need all the energy you have to escape, if my aura placed on your chains goes down even a little to where you're level is, you'll be able to escape, but know this even if you manage to break free there's no way you'll be able to outrun or maneuver me."

Nowell: "..." 

Lay: "..." 

Rise: "So keep that in mind kids." 

Nowell: "Whatever, I just wanted a drink." 

Meanwhile, with Maxdell. 

Ryan: "You four, what are your names?" 

Joel: "Joel Arrow." 

Phil: "Phil Conteno." 

Hill: "Hill Parkson." 

Aaron: "Aaron Cage." 

Ryan: "You four don't seem fatigued in any way." 

Joel: "We're used to exercises like this, for some of us were in special ops." 

Ryan: (Special ops? They will be useful.) 

Ryan: "I want you four to be my scouts up ahead and report to me if you see anything ahead, I will double your pay, now here is a radio to contact me if you spot anything unusual." 

Joel: "... Alright we'll get going then." 

The four went on ahead. 

Charles: "Brother care for a drink?" 

Ryan: "No." 

Charles: "Ryan you should replenish yourself as much as you can, after all we don't know how far we'll have to travel." 

Ryan: "I'm fine Charles." 

Ryan looked to see his brother had a concerned look on his face.

Ryan: "[Sigh] alright, give me a bottle, we leave in 3 minutes." 

Charles: "As you insist." 

Ryan: (Whatever happens, those 4 will be my eyes and ears, there's no way we'll fail.) "[Drinking]"

Meanwhile, somewhere in the bushes a creature was watching.

The crew continued searching but 3 hours passed with no brakes. 

Soldier 42: "That does it! Maxdell, what the hell are you pulling right now?!" 

Soldier 2: "Yeah, are we close to this thing or not?!" 

Soldier 19: "How the hell are we supposed to find this statue when we don't have a map or any sort of navigation that can lead us to it?!" 

Soldier 7: "We're freaking lost, I tell you!" 

Rise:(Uh oh, looks like the boss really screwed up this time.)

Ryan: "Silence! I'm aware we've been walking for hours with no clear direction! But I'm certain we're going in the right direction, so quit complaining and follow me!" 

Soldier 19: "You think endlessly walking and assuming while heading in to some random direction will get us to this treasure?!" 

Ryan: "If you don't like it then go back to the ship. I'll find the treasure myself!" 

Soldiers 19: "Tch!" 

Soldier 48: "I need to use the restroom. I'll be right back." 

Soldier 54: "Hey wait up I'll go too!" 

The two soldiers headed away from the group and near some bushes.

Soldier 48: "Man, this is bullshit!" 

Soldier 54: "Agree that old man is really pushing it! This treasure better be worth it for his sake." 

The two started peeing around the bushes when suddenly one of them noticed something moving the grass. 

Soldier 48: "Huh?" 

Meanwhile, with Lay and Nowell. 

Nowell: "..." 

Nowell was thinking in silence.

Lay: "What's wrong?" 

Nowell: "Nothing, it's just that something has been bothering me for a while." 

Lay: "You noticed it too?" 

Nowell: "Yeah, we're in a jungle as big and vast as this, but for not one second while we were here did I see any sign of wildlife at all." 

Lay: "Yeah, not even a bird or monkey." 

Nowell: "Why is that?" 

Rise: (Hmph so the Kittens noticed too?) 

As for the two soldiers urinating, one of them saw something moving in the bushes.

Soldier 48: "Hey you see that?" 

Soldier 54: "What?" 

Soldier 48: "There's something over there." 

Soldier 54: "Hmm?" 

The mysterious creature moved in closer. 

Soldier 48: "Holyshit!" 

The two grabbed their guns and aimed. 

Soldier 54: "Hey you think that's one of the guys just messing with us?" 

Soldier 48: "How should I know? Why would they?" 

Soldier 54: "Hey buddy if you're one of our guys I would seriously stop fooling around, because you're a second away from being shot!" 

Soldier 48: "You got three seconds to show yourself! 1, 2." 

The creature moved even closer. 

Soldier 48: "Fire!!" [Gunshots] 

Soldier 7: "Whoa!" 

Soldier 19: "Are we under attack?!" 

Soldier 15: "It's those two that went to use the restroom!" 

Ryan: (So it's begun.) 

Maxdell pointed at the nearest five. 

Ryan: "You five, go and check on them!" 

Soldiers: "Alright!"  

Soldier 40: "Let's go!" 

Charles: "Brother." 

Ryan: "Charles, Rise! Stay near, as for everyone else, hold your ground!" 

Meanwhile, the two men stopped firing. 

Soldier 54: "Look it stopped!" 

Soldier 48: "Did we kill it?" 

The 5 soldiers then spotted the two. 

Soldier 40: "Hey what happened here, you two?!" 

One of the two men responded while the other investigated. 

Soldier 48: "Guys, glad you're here we saw something move in the bushes!" 

Soldier 20: "Did you kill it?" 

Soldier 48: "Jean's looking now." 

Jean: "Let's see what's been hiding this whole time." 

Suddenly, as Jean looked, he was decapitated. (!!!!) 

Soldier 55: "The hell?!!" 

And grabbed into the bushes. 

Soldier 40: "Holy shit, get back!" 

Soldier 34: "Rick, get over here!" 

Rick collapsed as soon as he saw Jean's body get sliced in half. The fear had paralyzed him. 

Soldier 34: "Rick!!" 

Suddenly, the mysterious creature emerged from the bushes. "What? What is that?!"                              

 A silver human-looking mannequin with horns appeared from the bushes. 

Soldier 55: "That's!"

Soldier 20: "That thing looks kinda human?!" 

Soldier 55: "But it's got horns!"

Soldier 40: "Everyone fire now!" 

The soldiers all opened fire and were pushing the mysterious creature back. 

Soldier 34: "Look, the shots are affecting it!" 

Soldier 20: "Keep firing!" 

As the soldiers sprayed the beast with all the bullets they had, Rick just stood there, watching and seeing as the creature's face looked unfazed. 

Rick: (That thing it's looking at me while it's getting shot!) 

Suddenly, the creature's arms extended and pierced both soldier 40 and Soldier 49 heads from a distance. 

Soldier 55: "Aaaaaaahhhh!!!!"

Soldier 34: (!!!! It got Rence and Lenard!) 

Soldier 55: "You! You monster!!"

Soldier 55 then ran up closer and in front of the mannequin and started rapidly firing.

Soldier 34: "Andy Wait!"

Soldier 55: "Haaaaaaaaaaa!!"

Soldier 34: (He's completely lost it, his fear must have gotten to him!)

The beast then out of nowhere lunged and extended his head to great distances, and pierced Andy's chest with its horns.

Andy: "Gaah……"

Soldier 34: "No! Andy!!" 

Soldier 20: "Screw this!" 

The soldier said, fleeing. 

Soldier 34: "Smith wait! What about Rick?!" 

Smith: "I'm not planning to die Willis!" 

Willis [Soldier 34]: "What do you just want to run away?!" 

Smith continued to flee. 

Willis: "Dammit." 

Willis fled as well. 

Rick: "Guys, wait, don't leave me here!" 

Willis: (Sorry Rick but that thing just killed Jean, Lenard, Andy and Rence while we emptied our clips into it! We don't know how much that thing is capable of or if it can even be killed with just the 3 of us!) 

Willis: "You're on your own Rick!" 

Rick: "Wait!!" 

Rick abandoned and left to die, crawled slowly away from the creature as he did he then noticed that the monster was sucking the life out of Rence, Andy, and Lenard's deceased bodies with his arms and horns sunken into each of them. 

Rick: (What their bodies are deflating! It's like a vampire sucking the blood out of its victims dry!) 

Suddenly the creature took out its horns from Andy's chest and centered its attention yet again towards Rick. 

Rick: (Crap, it's looking at me again!!!) 

The monster then slowly extended its head towards Rick. 

Rick: "Aaaaaahhh!!!" 

Willis: "Rick, cover your eyes!" 

Rick: "Willis?!"

 Willis tossed a flash grenade over to where Rick and the creature were. 

[Bang] The creature backed away from the flash while Willis grabbed Rick. 

Rick: "Willis?! you came back!" 

Willis: "If there's one thing a soldier should never do, it's leave his fellow soldier behind!" 

Rick: "[Sniff] thank you!" 

As the two fled, the silver mannequin pulled out its arm from Lenard and pierced Willis's leg. 

Willis: "Aaaaaahhh!!!" 

Rick: "Willis!!" 

Rick carried Willis by, dragging him back. 

Willis: "Fool don't drag me its arm is inside my leg! Just go! You'll be killed too!" 

Rick: "I can't just leave you! You tried to save me!" 

Willis: (Great Elia I can't run on this leg and that thing's range is ridiculous! Dammit, all I wanted to do was to get rich and support my son!) 

The mannequin started sucking the blood and vitamins out of Willis's body. 

Willis: "Gaaaaaaahhhh!!!" 

Rick: "Willis! Shit, what do I do?!" 

Willis: "R..Rick Wait! P.. promise me when you all get the treasure you'll send the share over to my son, he's about 14 please j..just do me that!" 

Rick: (Willis!) "No! cause you're going to survive and do that yourself!" 

Rick aimed his gun and shot at the arm, slowly killing Willis. 

Rick: "Darn it, it doesn't have any effect!" 

Willis: "Run, kid!" 

Rick: "No never leave a man behind, remember!" (We're not gonna die here!) 

Rick continued firing. 

Willis: (The kid is so stubborn.) "G..guess it can't be helped." 

Willis took out his pistol from the side of his jacket and also started firing. 

Rick and Willis: "Haaaaaaa!!!" 

They both yelled until the creature's arm and head pierced them both. 

Rick and Willis: "......" 

The mannequin's horns in Willis' chest and other arm in Rick's heart.
