Danielle and Cassey came over. I took out the Uno and Dos cards, my brother bought them for me, they were surprisingly expensive. We chose to play Dos, Cassey lost 3 times out of 4, she got her forehead flicked by both of us.
The game turned into gossiping. Shaun ang Kayla had broken up once again. I won't say I'm surprised and I won't be surprised if they get back together a week later. Kayla is my friend, we are not that close but I guess we are friends. I never liked Shaun, he was studying in the private school adjacent to the church, on the other side of town. He was rich, that was all I know about him, and all that I need since he has no personality otherwise. Whenever a boy is within a meter radius of Kayla, he would get jealous and have a fight. I remember when Kayla sat on the back of my bike when we went over to Cassey’s. He saw us when he was riding his scooter, which is also a part of his personality. As he spotted us, he cranked the speed up, and his scooter made sad noises. He did not need to worry, I am not interested in girls. I was not the only one that he was jealous of. Laurie, Mark, Kent, JR, I could go on.
I looked at the birds on the trees in front of the municipal offices. When we were going home from the Plaza, I took a good look at them. They were definitely bigger than sparrows, longer and sharper beaks too, I don't know if they are black or if they just appear so with the afternoon sky behind them.
We rode around and round on the merry-go-round in the Plaza until the guard told us off. The playground was for kids, I guess we passed that line already, so we just sat on the swings. I swung as high as I could, Danielle did so too, Cassey didn't even swing a meter.
