Yaksha & Yakshini (India)

I think it is pretty interesting the impact religion has on some local deities. on the one hand, it's sad very important gods in a local area got demoted to a type of lesser spirit, like the yaksha and yakshini. But at the same time, if these gods didn't change to fit a new religion, they probably would have been forgotten entirely.
