CHAPTER:7

Head for the cave where horrors await

Ryan: "Let me finish. It could end in our annihilation if you don't follow my guide and leadership that I've set for you all." 

Soldier 42: "The hell are you getting at?! Guide, leadership?! Just what the hell have you brought us all into?! 

Ryan: "On this island lies a creature that was once a deity an angel to be exact." 

Soldier 7: "An…" 

Soldier 19: "Angel?" 

Ryan: "This angel escaped from the heavens and hid on this island for thousands of years and has lost its original form becoming a complete abomination." 

Soldier 53: "If that's true, why are you leading us to him?!" 

Soldier 33: "You said we were after the hidden treasure of Allamore!" 

[Allamore was a story of a fallen king that hid all his treasure on a secret island before his beheading, though this story is a folktale that a certain traveler made up 500 years ago to those around him.] 

Ryan: "That wasn't the case, I lied about that story so that I could get as many of you as I could to take on this contract, I needed all the help I could find even though it would cost me a fortune." 

Smith: "So tell us then Maxdell what's stopping us from filling you with a bunch of holes and getting off this island right now?" 

Ryan: "Because I have a proposition you can't refuse." 

Smith: (Proposition?) 

Ryan: "I'll make this quick and to the point, if we kill or take down that angel, we will be the wealthiest men around! Think about it!" 

All Soldiers: (Wealthiest men?) 

Ryan: "An angel is a legendary and mystical being that has only been seen in the coming of the Goddess that happened thousands of years in the year AG, mankind has never touched or researched them! If we were to bring it down we could put a price on it and sell it to the highest bidder making God knows what kind of fortune for such research!" 

Soldier 33: "Whoa I didn't think of that."

Soldier 42: “Oh yeah? And what makes you think we can stop or kill it?” 

Ryan: “Because the angel is no longer a deity, it’s imperfect, for instance the creature you all just took down was its spore.” 

Soldier 53: “It’s spore?” 

Nowell: “Spore? This is new? Is that even possible? Lay you getting this?” 

Lay: “...” 

Soldier 7: “you’re telling me that mannequin thing was a part of this angel you speak of?” 

Ryan: “Yes, an imperfect figure representing its main body, a creature no longer a guardian of the Goddess Its form is tainted from banishment meaning it can be killed!” 

Nowell: (Killed?)

Ryan: “Enough talk! Make a decision now! Join me and help me take down a former deity and become the richest men alive and part of history or walk away from this and miss the greatest opportunity given to you your entire lives! The choice is yours. Just know that together we have the numbers and firepower to take it down!!” 

Soldiers: “Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!” 

The men yelled. 

Charles: (Ryan unbelievable how did you?) 

Rise: (Holy shit Maxdell you’re unbelievable! A moment ago these men were ready to put you down in seconds but in a snap you managed to completely turn around the situation and get them on your side with such a speech! And the craziest thing that’s not the full story, you haven’t even told them of the fruit! I bet the ability to see the future is more important to you than any amount of money in the world, not to mention your beloved father, you’re playing these men like a fiddle!) “Heh I was right to trust you.” 

Nowell: (Incredible that guy is like a complete Mastermind, there’s no way that could have been his intention from the start, even I’m moved by his speech, makes me believe we really do have a chance! But me and Lay know that can’t be the case.) 

Lay: “That old man is… clever.” 

Soldier 42: “Alright Maxdell boss! We’ll follow behind you!” 

Soldier 53: “Lead the way!” 

Soldier 2: “Hmph whatever.”

Smith: “...”

Ryan: (Now to get to Joel and see what they discovered, I just hope they don’t die when we get there.)

Ryan went on ahead while the entirety of his men followed. 

Rise: “Let’s go, you runts, I bet you both wish you stuck this through with us now don’tcha?” 

Nowell: “You think it’s going to be as simple as he saids? How can someone like you who is an adept of Forcer not realize how dangerous an angel is?” 

Rise: “Because I didn’t study that little religion of yours, unlike you too I’m self taught and could care less how big of a deal this angel is, in fact I look forward to our little battle just to see how strong it is!” 

Nowell: (This guy is only interested in facing tough opponents.) 

Lay: “[Sigh].” 

Rise: “Now let’s go!” 

Maxdell and his crew, after 10 minutes of finding Arrow’s tree markings, caught up and found the special op scout that was bleeding out by one of the trees.

Joel: “Y..you’re here…” 

Ryan: “Arrow, where are the others?” 

Joel: “Dead we were attacked by these silver creatures. We did our best to fend off against them but they were just so durable!” 

Ryan: “I see, but tell me, did you discover any information that could lead us to where we should go?” 

Joel: “Y..yes but you shouldn’t go! There was a.. a large cave 200 meter northwest from here, where we saw c..corpses of what looked like a 19th century pirate crew.” 

Ryan: “Corpses? Then we’re on the mark.” 

Soldier 7: “Seriously?! We didn’t even have to look for the statue!”

Joel: “There... is no statue, the notes mistake it for one of those things keeping watch.”

Ryan: “What do you mean?”

Joel: “There’s one on top of a cliff crouching and still as a mountain, once we saw it, we went to take a look up closer to it, but soon as we took a step closer, it saw us and stood up then more popped up and attacked us.” 

Soldier 7: “Damn.”

Ryan: “Arrow, we’re leaving for the cave.”

Joel: “Wait! You can’t possibly be thinking of going there--? [Coughing] still, those things will!”

Soldier 7: “We ain’t scared of them! We can take them if we stick together!” 

Soldier 4: “Just hang in there, Joel, we’ll take you back to the ship!” 

Joel: “Wait it’s not that simple, I’ve been stabbed in a vital, it’s serious… I don’t have long...” 

Soldier 19: “He right I say he has about 6 minutes max if he’s lucky.” 

Ryan: “Arrow we’re going on ahead.”

Joel: “Stop... It’s too dangerous… you’ll all...” 

Joel fell unconscious.  

Soldier 33: “What do we do?” 

Ryan: “We go on ahead.” 

Soldier 4: “And just leave him?!” 

Ryan: “Joel and his crew made a path for us to follow that would lead us to the angel. We can’t let their sacrifice be for nothing.” 

Soldier 4: “But can’t we--?!” 

Smith: “He doesn’t have long, he’s been severely stabbed in the organs and has less than 10 minutes. We won’t make it.” 

Soldier 4: “But!” 

Soldier 33 “Just give it up man, he’s done for.” 

Soldier 4: “Shit…” 

Charles: “Brother, do we go on?” 

Ryan: “Of course, let’s head for the cave.” 

The soldiers all said their farewells and headed to the cave that awaited and after 22 minutes, they arrived.

Soldier 7: “Look!”

The men stopped as they stumbled over to a rocky field filled with corpses.

Soldier 33: “Dead bodies.” 

Soldier 19: “And take a look, they’re all deflated!”

Smith: “And look at the mannequin on the cliff keeping watch like Arrow said.”

Ryan: “But underneath him is the cave, we must get ready.”

One man nervously swallowed. 

Ryan: “One of you is going to lure them out.” 

Soldier 7: “Seriously?” 

Soldier 33: “It should be someone who’s the fastest out of us.” 

Soldier 2: “Hey Alex [Soldier 7] weren’t you the second one behind Jacob Well with the highest track record in the group who could sprint like his life depended on it?” 

Alex: “Huh?! Why me?” 

Soldier 2: “Because Jacob isn’t here he’s on the ship, so get to it.” 

Alex: “Dammit…” 

Ryan: “Everyone spread around behind rocks in the area.”

Soldier 33: (There sure are a lot to be honest.)

The men spreaded around.

Rise: “You two, we’re staying over here.”

Nowell: “Behind that big rock? How do we know you try anything on us?”

Rise: “Quiet! You little fem boy I don’t swing that way! Just follow me, I want a good view!”

Nowell: “You seriously think his plan is going to work? Who knows how many are inside of that cave.” 

Rise: “Shut it, Maxdell knows what he’s doing besides there’s no way I’m going to die here.” 

Nowell: “I wouldn’t bet on that.” 

Rise: “Quiet if it wasn’t for the fact that I have to babysit you runts, I be tearing those things apart myself.” 

Nowell: “You must really want to go at em?” 

Rise: “Duh but I’ll save myself for the main dish once you two are out of the picture.” 

Lay: “...” 

Lay tried focusing his aura into the chained cuffs, but had no luck breaking them. 

Rise: “Give it up punk, you won’t break my aura so easily.” 

Lay: “[Sigh] it’s dense, but that doesn’t mean I can’t break it!” 

Nowell: “Lay wait! Don’t use all your energy on this!” 

Lay: “Shut up!” 

Lay tensed up all his energy into the cuffs, trying to fight off Rise’s aura with everything he had. 

Rise: (Whoa not bad he’s actually cracking it, but.) 

Rise increased his aura and spreaded around Lay, causing him to kneel. 

Lay: “Gaaah! Dammit!” 

Rise: “Sit down and behave yourself can’t you see it’s pointless.” 

Nowell: (This guy, to cause Lay to kneel to him, he’s trained a lot definitely like no one we’ve faced before.) 

Rise: “Now how about we--?”

Alex: “Aaaaaaaaahhhh!!!” 

Rise: “Hmm?” 

Nowell: "Is it starting?!"
