“Jay!” A guy with dirty blonde hair and dark blue eyes shouted. He wore a dark gray v-neck shirt with ripped jeans and old black sneakers. His hair and shirt seemed to cling to his body, soaked in sweat. He held a huge cardboard box in his arms and seemed to be struggling with it.
A girl then ran over and helped the boy with carrying the box, letting part of the box slip into her hands. She had dirty blonde hair in a ponytail, green eyes, and wore an old worn out v-neck white shirt with stains all over it with ripped jeans and old yellow sneakers.
“Thanks, Jay,” The guy said after the girl took part of the box.
“You're welcome,” Jay said with a smile.
They led the box up a flight of concrete stairs and into a room that looked like an old school nurse’s office. They then set the box on an old desk with a loud thud.
“Oh good. You brought some more medical supplies,” A girl said walking up to them. She had black hair held back in a bun with violet eyes wearing an old gray shirt that looked too big with ripped jeans and old worn out gray sneakers.
The girl walked over to the box and opened it. Inside was a bunch of bottles of different medicines like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Advil, and so on. There were also tubes of Antibacterial gel and lots of band-aids. Tubular stockinettes, arm and leg casts were found at the bottom of the box.
“This should last us a few months,” The girl said. “Thanks for getting the supplies. I’ll put it up.” The girl then grabbed two bottles of medicine and turned around. She then walked to a cabinet and opened it. It was empty. The girl put the bottles of medicine inside and then walked over to the box to grab some more.
“No problem,” The guy said with a nod.
“Ooo. What happened to your face?” The girl asked, concerned, noticing a nice big scratch that was bleeding on the guy's face.
“Oh. Just a small fight with some guys to get this box. It’s really nothing,” The guy said, covering the scratch with his hand.
“Nonsense, Noah. Come here,” The girl said, grabbing a wet cloth that was sitting on the sink by the cabinets. She applied the cloth to the guy's face and wiped the blood off his face, cleaning his wound.
“Thanks, Nat,” The guy said.
“You're welcome. Open wounds attract viruses you know,” The girl said, taking a tube of Antibacterial gel out of the box and opening it. She then applied it to his face.
“Ah! That stings!” Noah said, scrunching up his face in pain.
“I bet,” Nat said, applying a clean band-aid onto his face. “There. All better.” Nat then stepped back and examined her work. Happy with her work she went back to putting stuff in the cabinets.
“Cora is probably going to ask what happened,” Jay said.
“Yeah, I know,” Noah said with a sigh.
“You have to tell her the truth. She’s your girlfriend, you know,” Jay said, with a serious face.
Just then a girl with black hair held back in a braid with pink eyes walked into the room. She wore an oversized gray v-neck shirt with ripped jeans and old worn out pink sneakers.
“Hey, Natalie is Noah…,” The girl began. “Noah!”
The girl then rushed over and gave Noah a hug. He hugged her back.
After their hug was over the girl took his face and examined it.
“What happened?” The girl asked, concerned.
Noah stared at the girl for a minute and then said, “I just got into a small argument with some guys trying to get some supplies.”
The girl's eyes seemed to soften. “Does it hurt?”
“No, not really. Nat patched me up and now I’m good as new,” Noah said with a wink.
“I missed you,” The girl said, wrapping her arms back around him.
“I was only gone for a day,” Noah said, wrapping his arms around her.
The girl then looked up at him and said, “Well I still missed you.”
Noah chuckled and then kissed the girl.
“I missed you too, my little Coral,” Noah whispered in the girl's ear.
The girl giggled.
“I love you, my big starfish,” The girl said with a smile, blushing.
“I love you too, Cora,” Noah said, kissing the girl on the top of her head.
Cora giggled.
“Guys! Guys!” A boy’s voice said, sounding alarmed. A guy suddenly swung himself into the room, barely stopping. “It’s Oliver!”
The guy had brown hair and dark brown eyes with dark brown skin. He wore a white worn out shirt with ripped jeans and worn out black sneakers.
Everyone then rushed out of the room following the guy with brown hair down the stairs and in front of the school. They finally stopped running as soon as they reached the front of the fountain.
At the front of the fountain, laid a very tall, pale boy. He had red curly hair that clung to his forehead with sweat. His eyes were closed as his breathing seemed slow and shallow. He wore ripped jeans with a black shirt and white worn out sneakers.
“Oliver!” A girl with caramel colored skin yelled running over. She suddenly stopped and covered her mouth in shock. Her eyes seemed to glimmer with tears that looked almost ready to fall. She had brown hair and hazel eyes. She wore a military green colored shirt with ripped jeans and black worn out sneakers.
“Shh…It’s gonna be ok, Georgia,” Jay said, walking over to the girl. She then embraced the girl.
That seemed to be the last thing holding her tears back because the girl started crying into Jay’s shoulder.
Natalie got on her knees and checked his pulse.
“His heart is still beating. Mateo and Noah go back to the nurse’s room and grab the white cotton bed,” Natalie said, pointing at Noah and the boy with brown hair.
They both nodded and ran off.
“Is he going to be ok?” Georgia asked, still crying.
“I’m not sure, but I will try my best to help him get better,” Natalie said.
Georgia sniffled.
A little while later Noah and Mateo returned with the cotton bed. They placed it on the ground near the guy on the ground. They then slowly picked him up and placed him on the bed.
“Take him to the nurse’s office. I can treat him there,” Natalie said.
Noah and Mateo then picked back up the cotton bed with the guy on it and carried it up the concrete steps and into the nurse’s office with everyone following them. They placed the cotton bed on a large table in the back.
“Ok everyone I need you to get out so I can aid him,” Natalie said, pushing everyone out the door. “I’ll tell you when I’m done.” She then closed the door, leaving the others outside.
“Wow. Ok then,” Noah said, slightly surprised.
“It’s dinner time anyway,” Cora said with a shrug.
“Hey, shouldn’t Griffin, Eli, and Jackson be back by now?” Jay asked, looking around to see if she spotted them.
“Yeah,” Cora agreed.
Georgia sniffed, “They said they’d be back by sunset and it’s sunset.”
Suddenly the school’s gate opened and everyone turned to see who it was.
There walked three tall boys side by side carrying huge boxes. The boy on the left side had black hair and gray eyes with caramel skin. He wore a gray v-neck shirt with black ripped jeans and old worn out gray sneakers. In the middle of the guys stood a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes with sun tanned skin. He wore a white v-neck shirt with ripped jeans and old worn out white sneakers with stains on them. The boy on the right side had black hair and gray eyes with lighter skin than the boy on the left side. He wore a black v-neck shirt with gray ripped jeans and worn out old gray sneakers.
Cora, Noah, Jay, Georgia, and Mateo then ran down stairs to greet them.
“Hey guys. Sorry we’re a little late,” The guy with the black v-neck shirt said.
“You guys are fine. Oliver’s sick and Natalie’s tending to him,” Noah said.
“What did you guys get?” Cora asked intrigued.
“Lots of good stuff,” The guy with the gray v-neck shirt said.
“Good. I’m starving,” Jay said.
“Me too,” Cora said.
“Same,” Mateo said.
“I could eat,” Noah said.
Georgia wiped the last of her tears and then said, “I’m kinda hungry too.”
“Are you ok, Georgia?” The guy with the blonde hair said, looking concerned.
“I am now. Thanks for asking Eli,” Georgia said with a small smile.
The guy with blonde hair smiled back at her.
“Let’s eat!” The guy with the gray v-neck shirt said, holding up the box that he was holding slightly.
A little while later, Jay and the guy with the gray v-neck shirt were in the kitchen.
Jay took the food out of all the boxes and stared at them for a while.
“What are you looking at?” The guy asked.
“I’m trying to decide what to make,” Jay asked.
"How about…Potato soup?" The guy suggested.
"Hmm…That could work. Do we have bacon and cheese?" Jay said.
"Let me go check," The guy said, walking over to the fridge and opening it. He then pulled out some cheese and bacon. He walked back over to Jay and laid them on the counter.
"Perfect," Jay said with satisfaction.
"Griffin!" A guy shouted running into the kitchen. He wore a black v-neck shirt.
"Yeah," The guy with the gray v-neck shirt said, confused.
"Oh. I found you. I was wondering where you ran off too," The guy with the black v-neck shirt said.
"Ooo…kay…," Griffin said, slowly.
"Also, when will dinner be ready?" The guy asked.
"When it's ready, Jackson," Jay said.
"Like ten minutes? Fifteen? Twenty?" Jackson started guessing.
"Jackson," Jay said, grabbing his attention. "It will be done when it's done. It should only take twenty five minutes though, maybe more."
"Ok," Jackson said, sadly. He then turned and walked out of the kitchen.
Griffin then began cutting up the potatoes.
