CHAPTER:8

Escape from the danger

The creature launched both its arms at them while Lay and Nowell dodged, then it focused its attention on Nowell and flew towards him. 

Nowell: (Not good if only I had my revolver!) 

The creature launched its arm again while Nowell jumped behind a tree and placed his hands on it, meanwhile another arm was launched, shattering the side of the tree.

Nowell: (Dang, even with my force field, it still did such damage! If I didn’t place my aura on this tree, I would have been done for!) 

Another attack shattered the tree and Nowell quickly rolled out the way, but the monster was right in front of him. 

(!!!!) 

Lay then threw aura infused rocks at the mannequin’s head. 

It turned around. 

Lay: “This freak likes Forcer right?” 

Lay charged his aura, provoking the creature to charge over to him. 

Nowell: “don’t it’ll--!” 

Suddenly the transformed mannequin was shot in the head. 

Evolved Mannequin: “[Roooaaaarrrr]!” 

Another shot was fired hitting the monster in the chest. 

Rise: “Die you piece of shit!” 

Rise shot again and again until the creature’s upper body erupted. 

Rise: “There it’s dead.” 

Nowell: “He got him.” 

Rise: “You two don’t move! I can still blow a hole through you both!” 

Nowell: “Darn it!” 

Lay: “Great.” 

Ryan: “Well done, Rise once again. Now is everyone alright?” 

Soldier 33: “Yeah.” 

Soldier 4: “We’re good!” 

Ricardo: “Yep we’re good I guess…”

Ryan: “[Sigh]”

Charles: “Ryan, are you alright as well?” 

Ryan: “Tired, but that’s not important. Rise what in the blazes just happened?” 

Rise: “Well, it’s kinda my fault, really. I transferred over my energy over to that thing to break it down from the inside, but in the end I only made it more powerful.” 

Nowell: “You shouldn’t have done that muscle head applying your aura to that thing was like adding fuel to fire, you’ll only strengthen it!” 

Rise: “Grrr I didn’t know you brat!” 

Soldier 19: “My question is why did it suddenly grow teeth, claws, and wings?” 

Nowell: “It was nearly reverting back into it’s main body’s original state.” 

Ryan: “So you’re saying that abomination along with its spores could revert into its old self if it gets a taste of your magic?!” 

Rise: “Hey kid don’t!” 

Nowell: “Yeah.” 

Ryan: “Unbelievable! We were about to use these two Crusaded Defenders as bait and make that beast even more of an issue for us!” 

Soldier 42: “So what should we do now, boss?” 

Soldier 53: (I got a few ideas)

Ryan: “...Rise I can’t afford to have you come with us.” 

Rise: “What?!” 

Ryan: “With you and those two around, you could drastically lower our chances and put us all in greater danger!” 

Rise: “You old bastard! Don’t cut me off! Remember our deal?!” 

Ryan: “I’m aware but tell me Rise do you really think it’s a wise decision to bring along someone who could benefit that monstrosity to its utmost advantage?!” 

Rise: “That’s not my problem you said I would be the one to slaughter that angel! It’s what brought me onto this journey!” 

Ryan: “I understand that, Rise, but as you can see where taking an enormous risk here, because of the situation at hand, you have now become a liability on the matter!” 

Rise: “You son of a bitch now you’re testing me! A liability, you say? Are you forgetting I know the real reason why we’re out here in the first place?” 

Smith: “Real reason?” 

Soldier 42: “What’s Rise saying?” 

Ryan: (He wouldn’t!) 

Rise: “Heh you know now that I think about it, I think slaying that angel wouldn’t be enough for me now.” 

Ryan: “Rise Rexun you better not.” 

Rise: “I didn’t really care at first but you’re a real selfish guy keeping secrets about powerful and mystical fruits away from your men.” 

Ryan: “Rise!!” 

Smith: “Powerful, mystical fruits?” 

Alex: “Rise, what are you talking about, man?”

Rise: “Listen good, my friends, for deep within that cave where the angel lies is a fruit, but not just any fruit! A fruit that was blessed by the goddess herself that has the ability to see into the future, that this sly, greedy bastard has been keeping a secret from you all this whole time!” 

Soldier 19: “A fruit that can foresee the future?” 

Soldier 2: “Bullshit.” 

Soldier 53: “True that.”

Soldier 19: “That can’t be possible, can it?” 

Rise: “Open your eyes, you damn idiots! We’re on a hunt for a frickin deity that not too long ago you kids didn’t know about! We live in a world full of extraordinary creatures, angels and even a goddess! The realm of possibility is endless! Not to mention you got Guys like me walking around!” 

Alex: “H--hey he has a seriously good point!” 

Smith: “Now that you mention it, nothing sounds too crazy anymore!” 

Soldier 42: “A fruit that can see the future? Just imagine what I could accomplish with that.” 

Ryan: (That fool.) 

Smith: “You 6 go shine a light on that cave.” 

6 soldiers: “Right!” 

The men shouted. 

Ryan: “Smith, what are you doing?” 

Smith: “Shut it Maxdell you snake.” 

Ricardo: “Smith’s in charge now!” 

Ryan: “...” 

Smith: “This is the second truth you kept from us!” 

Soldier 2: “You shitty old man, that story you made up about Allamore’s treasure doesn’t come anywhere close to the scale of this fruit and angel!” 

Soldier 53: “Did you seriously think you would be able to keep to yourself while we were around?”

Soldier 42: “I think it’s time we took matters in our own hands!” 

Rise: “Hahaha good! Great! So will you all join me instead?” 

All Soldiers: “Hell no!”  

Rise: (!!!!) "Say what?"

Soldier 19: “You kept this secret from us as well!” 

Soldier 2: “Yeah, and you’re also a complete liability like Maxdell said!” 

Rise: “You sorry sacks of--!” 

Soldier 42: “There’s no way we’re letting any of you bastards go! Now you all face the Black Hawks!” 

Charles: “Brother this isn’t good!” 

Ryan: “Wait! All of you calm down and--!” 

Smith: “Everyone aim!” 

Soldier 4: “Aim? Smith, you want to kill them?!”

Smith: “Of course, you moron, they screwed us all over!” 

Soldier 42: “Let’s do it, it’ll be one less rich snob!”

Soldier 4: “...”

Alex: “...”

Soldier 19: “...”

The soldiers all had their weapons pointed at Maxdell and the others. 

Ryan: “No!”

 Lay looked over at Nowell while Rise charged up his aura while standing still. 

Smith: “Ready? And!” 

Then out of nowhere, a large scream came from within the cave. 

Creature: [Roooaaaaarrrrr!!!!]

Soldier 19: “What was that?!” 

Soldier 42: “It came from the cave!” 

Ricardo: “Sorry, Smith, we shined our lights on something and it reacted!” 

Smith: “Shined your lights on what?” 

Nowell: “It can’t be!” (Naked Eye.) 

Soldier 42: “Great more problems.” 

Chase: “Never Mind that let’s deal with them firs--!” 

Suddenly, a great deal of mist appeared from the cave.

Smith: “What’s this?”

Soldier 19: “Mist?”
