While Taisetsuna went inside to join Koyaga Azusake at the reception and prepare the main room for dinner, Nozomu went to the kitchen. When he opened the door, he saw Seta Azusake seated at the table, choosing tomatoes that were inside a huge bowl. Nozomu noticed that he was throwing rotten tomatoes and some that were just a little riper to a bucket near his left, leaving on the table the greener ones.
Nozomu looked at the bucket and asked, “Why are you putting perfectly good tomatoes with the rotten ones? These are good to eat, they are just a little redder than the ones over the table.”
The enormous Bovine-kind Cook asked in a thundering voice, “Who is the Cook here? Me or you, you brat? Those are only good for the ‘Scaraar’! No one likes tomatoes so red! They taste weird!”
Nozomu slowly shook his head as he was going for another bucket. He began taking out the red tomatoes that were not bruised or rotten and put them in the new bucket, before the frowning cook.
Nozomu sat at the table and spoke while helping the Cook choose the remaining tomatoes, “Then if no one likes to eat them, you don’t mind if I keep them, right? I know a recipe that uses red tomatoes, the redder the better, without being rotten. There are still enough for the ‘Scaraar’, so I can keep these, right? And unless you want me to call you a bad name as well, I suggest you never call me a brat ever again, Mister Azusake. Respect goes both ways, you know? And since I arrived, I never once disrespected you, so I would like it if you did the same.”
Seta Azusake went silent for a few seconds, and he then mumbled while choosing the tomatoes, “I don’t know what kind of recipe would use red tomatoes, but I bet it's something uneatable.”
“Pizzas use a layer of red tomato sauce over a thin circle of dough, and on top of the tomato sauce, you can put ham, cheese, chicken, vegetables and even fruit. Depending on the ingredients, you can even name the pizza.”
The big Cook jolted and looked at the calm Nozomu, who was still choosing tomatoes, “I never heard of something like that! Where did you learn?”
“I think I dreamed about this last night. I was trying to come up with some kind of business that could grant me some extra coins. If you let me use the oven and some dough, I can make a few mini pizzas that we can serve for tonight’s diner, as an appetizer. I am sure everyone will like them, and tomorrow we could make bigger ones and sell them. We could even make some sort of deal out of this, dividing the profits into three equal shares. One for you, one for me, and one for the Guild, considering that we would be using the Guild’s ingredients and material.”
The big Cook crossed his arms over his chest and asked with a grin, “And if no one likes those pi… something, we would just be wasting our time, and ingredients. The tomatoes I don’t mind because those were going to the ‘Scaraar’ anyway, but the dough gave us a lot of work on making it after lunch, remember?”
Nozomu made a slight smile while rotating a red tomato on his hand, looking for bruises, “I know, but I also know we made a bunch of dough, and we have to cook it all. We just need some balls of dough, the size of a fist. Small, but still enough to be the base of a good mini pizza. What do you say? You don’t have anything to lose, actually. If my plan fails, I can pay for the restocking of the ingredients I spent on my pizza recipe.”
“Very well, let’s try that plan of yours, just in case I am wasting a good business opportunity. But if this doesn’t work, I want my ingredients back.”
Nozomu put the red tomato inside the bucket at his feet and offered his right hand for a handshake to the frowning enormous Bovine-kind man. Seta Azusake shook it, still thinking about that strange idea, “So, besides the tomatoes, what do we need more?”
“We need to take out the stems from the tomatoes and slice an "X" on the bottom of each of them, and we cook them in hot water until the skin wrinkles. We take out the tomatoes, me, you, Taisetsuna and Miss Koyaga peel the skin, and we need Taisetsuna to cool them off with her Magic. Then we need a strong man to squash the tomatoes, that would be you, to make the tomatoes into a puree. We cook that puree while adding lemon juice and salt until we get a good flavour.”
The Cook was frowning and slowly nodding, thinking about Nozomu’s words, “That means we need more people to help. We can’t do that without bothering them?”
Nozomu pointed to the big bucket at his feet that was overflowing with red, big tomatoes, “For all these, we better get more people. We could make half today and the other half tomorrow, but since we are going to heat the stove and the oven, we might as well do everything today. I noticed that we have a bunch of empty canning jars and lids, and after boiling them to sterilize them, we can put there the tomato sauce we don’t use. If I am not mistaken, properly canned tomato sauce can be stored in the pantry for at least one year, leaving us with stock to make the bigger pizzas for tomorrow and another day, because I know the mini pizzas that we are going to make today will be a huge success.”
“I see… But you need the oven for what? For the tomatoes you only need the stove, right?”
Nozomu confirmed, “Yes, but the oven is to cook the dough covered with the sauce, and the other ingredients on top.”
“You know, that will be a ton of workload, considering we also must take care of tonight’s dinner.”
Nozomu smiled while getting up, “And did a challenge ever stop you? I heard that not even a house was able to stop a Bovine-kind man, was that a lie? Because if it is, I need to punch Suna’s head.”
The big Cook punched the table with a smile, “Heck no! My father didn’t raise a lazy child! Go call my sister, Taisetsuna, and the Guild Master while I heat the stove. You need to explain to him your plan, and we could also use his help on this.”
Nozomu ran out the door to call the others, while Seta Azusake mumbled, near the stove, “He thought about all this? His idea is crazy, but makes perfect sense! Well, no harm in trying, I suppose. Koyaga was right, he sure has changed.”
…
With everyone’s help, the diner for that night was almost ready, and with Taisetsuna running back and forth in the main room to serve the Adventurer’s that arrived, while Nozomu and all his helpers were finishing prep dinner.
When Nozomu opened the oven to check the pizzas for the last time, the tasty smell invaded the kitchen, making Seta Azusake gulp. When it reached the main room, the Adventurers and Taisetsuna were intrigued about that strange smell that was suddenly making them hungry.
Nozomu took out the pizzas and placed them over the table and the counter, and he then cut one of the pizzas in slices that he gave to the three surprised helpers that were already drooling just by the smell and the looks of that strange food, “So, this is a simple ham and cheese pizza. The most basic of pizzas we can make, with just two ingredients. If you make bigger pizzas and with more ingredients, we must do the maths to calculate the price for each pizza. I would suggest putting a price tag of three times the cost of the ingredients and our labour, to be profitable.”
The Guild Master answered while taking the slice that Nozomu gave him, “I can take care of those maths later because I know the prices of every ingredient we buy.”
Seta Azusake blew over the hot-smoking pizza for a few instants, and he then took a bite. He slowly opened up his eyes while munching and Nozomu winked at him, “I told you, everyone likes pizza.”
Nozomu then faced his left when he heard a low moaning from Koyaga Azusake, and gulped before the sight of her squeezing one of her breasts while munching the pizza slice. She swallowed and spoke in a low, harsh voice, while still squeezing her breast, “By God Raluth bless… this is so good… Holy moly, I think I need to change my panties…”
Nozomu asked with an awkward smile, unable to stop staring at her hand that was still squeezing hard the breast in the middle of her chest, “That good, huh?”
Koyaga slowly let go of her breast and answered while still munching another bite, “You have no idea… even my brother is having difficulties. I don’t really know how you made this Nozomu, but for a Bovine-kind, this stuff is extremely arousing! I don’t know what other Beast-kind will feel with these pizzas, but I can tell you that I feel very, very good, right now!”
Nozomu immediately looked at the big Cook at his side that was blushing as if a fire was consuming him only to have his head forcibly turned to face forward, and got a kiss from the red-cheeked Koyaga Azusake. Nozomu felt her tongue entering his mouth, and wildly exploring him, and while her moist tongue caressed his like if there was no tomorrow, he gently held her arms and slowly pushed her away, breaking the kiss.
Nozomu spoke to the still flushed Bovine-kind woman that was looking at him with smoochy eyes while licking her lips, “Perhaps it would be better if you don’t eat more. I didn’t know a pizza would have such an effect on Bovine-kind.”
“What are you talking about? I want one of these to eat later when I am alone in my room! Nozomu, these pizzas are amazing! I think that normal Humans like the Guild Master only appreciate the pizzas as food, but for Bovine-kind? Man, these are so good! Are we really going to sell these? Because if other types of Beast-kind feel just as half as I fell right now, we will have a huge line outside, waiting to eat this!”
Nozomu glanced at the Guild Master that was licking his fingers after finishing his slice without letting go of Koyaga that was still trying to grab him again, “A little help here? Please?”
“Don’t worry, she will calm down eventually. These mini pizzas are very tasty Nozomu, I think we can have a business here. If the remaining population of Beast-kind likes this new food so much like these two, we might need to hire more help just to make this! Probably better if you don’t reveal the complete recipe or more people will start to make them.”
Nozomu answered while still trying to hold back Koyaga that had him cornered against the wall and was still trying to kiss him, “This recipe is not hard to make, the secret is mostly on the seasoning of the sauce. I bet that Mister Azusake will be able to make a better sauce than mine, considering how good of a Cook he is.”
Seta Azusake answered, still trying to catch his breath, “Yes… I saw how you did and… I even tasted the sauce… I am not sure if I can do better… it tasted awful while… it was cooking… but with the oven, the ham and the cheese… Udo, I need to sit, this is too much for me…”
The Guild Master rushed to help his friend that was almost falling on the ground, overwhelmed by all the sensations rushing through his body.
Nozomu felt that Koyaga was not pushing him against the counter with so much force like in the beginning, but she was still smiling. She took one slow deep breath and asked, “Can you let me go now? I promise I won’t attack you, despite you still looking so yummy.”
Nozomu released his grasp and asked, noticing that she was looking at him with a strange glow in her eyes, “I am sorry, I didn’t know a pizza would have this kind of side effect!”
