This page gave me SUCH a hard time...trying to squeeze too much dialogue in there...glad it's over with.

Panel 1 [View of the three of them sitting at the table, chatting. Ezra is looking over at Lizzie, who’s sitting primly, eyes closed. Their mother looks fondly at them both. Show time has passed, with the candles burning low, the bowls empty, bread crusts, crumpled cloth napkins on the table]
EZRA:
You made that bread yourself, huh? Really good.
LIZZIE:
I know what I’m doin’.
EZRA:
Became a baker’s apprentice and everythin’ while I was gone. I’m impressed. You still goin’ to school though, yeah?
LIZZIE:
Um. When I’m able.
Panel 2 [Lizzie looks over at Ezra curiously, and Ezra looks down with a slight laugh. Ezra is in the foreground in this panel.]
LIZZIE:
How many whales d’you think you’re gonna catch this time?
EZRA:
Oh, I dunno. A lot, hopefully.
Panel 3 [Ezra reaches in his coat pocket as he remembers something, Lizzie leaning forward with even more curiosity to see what he’s getting. His mother glances over at him as well]
EZRA:
Oh! I almost forgot—
Panel 4 [Ezra hands a scrimshaw'd whale tooth to an excited Lizzie.]
EZRA:
Made this for you.
LIZZIE:
Woah!
Panel 5 [Lizzie looks at the tooth in her hands, captivated, and Ezra’s voice comes from off camera.]
LIZZIE:
You ever get bit by one of these?
EZRA:
No. And I hope I never will.
LIZZIE:
You made this? And I just made you bread…
EZRA:
Best bread I ever had.
Panel 6 [Ezra reaching over to affectionately brush Lizzie’s hair back. Lizzie is frowning. His mother is smiling slightly but looking tired, waving her on.]
EZRA:
I bet you gotta get up early for that baker though, hm. You should get some sleep.
Going to Weather is a 3 Act nautical ghost story set on a New England whaleship. Updates in batches monthly.
1843. New Bedford is the city lighting the world, with its wealth drawn bleeding from the ocean depths. Whale oil lamplight glazes domestic life and spermaceti candles burn long at the tables of the rich. Their warm glow belies the brutal work that set them there.
From the chaotic harbor bristling with ship masts, a cobbled-together crew boards the whaleship Valor bound for the Pacific. Among them is Lawrence Manner, a landsman hoping to shed his onshore life, and Ezra Carter, a second mate striving for a captaincy in a nation that has few other options for him.
The ship’s master—Barzillai Waite—has built a reputation of great success, returning time and time again with thousands of barrels of oil in the Valor’s hold. But the Captain’s lucky image is dogged by a tale that he was once the sole survivor of a wreck at sea. The Valor, now on her fourth voyage, somehow feels older than she should. And out on the isolated stretch of ocean, as the tryworks smoke and bubble, an unseen and unwelcome passenger begins to make itself felt.
