We stood there in silence for a long time while Jayden did check ups on everyone who was in the fight. Lil smiled at him gently when he got to her but continued eating her food. He checked out her leg first, making sure it was completely healed before checking to see if her collar was in proper working order. He came up to me next to check out the wound I had healed partially earlier, and continued healing it. A few minutes later the door swung open, and Hadden rushed in, looking around at everyone, going straight up to Lil.
“What happened?” Hadden asked almost yelling at Lil.
“Nothing you need to worry about Hadden,” Lil said calmly, she had a gently but sad look on her face.
“I don’t need to worry? Don’t feed me that bullshit.” Hadden snapped back, his eyes almost glazed over, “Did one of them bite you?” He whispered, his eyes looking a dark blood red.
“No.” Lil responded softly.
“Good. Are you hurt?”
Again Lil said no.
“Hadden!” Lib called out, snapping Hadden’s head around to look at him, “Did you come to check up on me? What a good friend.” Lib walked over to Hadden and threw his arm around Hadden’s shoulders, pulling him down to Lib’s height.
All of Lil’s brothers greeted Hadden cheerfully almost pulling him away from Lil. Hadden’s face suddenly changed as he talked with the guys, acting completely different then he was only a few moments ago. I turned to look over at Lil, her eyes, pale blue and filled with sadness, followed Hadden as he was pulled away from her. For a moment it looked like she wanted him to hold her, before she turned her face away from him. Once Jayden finished healing my leg I walked over to Lil.
“Hey,” I said as I sat next to her, “How are you holding up?”
She looked over at me, her eyes back to the hazel I knew all to well, “I’m doing as good as I can.” She smiled softly.
“You sure? You seamed pretty down a minute ago?” I asked, worrying about her.
“Yeah. It’s just the heat, ya know.” She forced a smile, before grabbing another apple and taking a big bite.
“Hey Lillia!” Said a familiar voice from the sea of guys in front of us.
Lil didn’t even look up when she responded, “What Matt?”
“Aren’t ya gonna come over and talk to Hadden?” I could spot Matt in the crowd walking towards us, “You two used to be really close back when you were little.”
“No, I’m good Matt.” Lil replied quickly.
“What? But, I mean, you guys used to do pretty much everything together, even during PVT you guys were close. Just a few years ago you guys-“
“Matteo! Stop already. I said no.” Lil almost yelled at him, her eyes turning a deep purple.
All the guys turned to look at her, “But Lillia…” Matteo started to say before stopping himself. “What’s wrong? Your eyes only turn purple when something’s really wrong.”
“Nothings wrong Matteo. I’m just tired and in heat. Just leave me alone right now.” Lil snapped back at him before getting up and walking towards the door.
I got up to follow her out, when Logan said “Lillia? What’s wrong? Ya know we can help ya with whatever is troubling ya. We’ve got yer back. We can fix it.” He stepped towards her reaching his hand out to stop her.
She paused for a moment moving her arm out of Logan’s reach, before looking over her shoulder at him, “You can’t ‘fix’ this. So don’t worry.” She said softly, then continued to the door and walked out.
“What’s up with her Libryinth?” Astrologh asked looking over at Lib.
Lib looked just as confused as the rest of us, “Hell if I know! She locked me out just like the rest of you. Shoot I didn’t even know any of this was really happening until today. Let alone why she’s so upset.”
“Did you do something?” Asked Oliver walking towards him.
“No. I’ve positively done nothing. It’s not my fault this time.” Lib said holding his hands up.
“What about you Juniper?” Matteo asked looking over at me, “Noticed anything recently? Has she been acting weird or anything? Said anything off to you?”
I was shocked that they asked me so I pointed to myself, like you talking to me, he nodded back at me, “Ummm… not that I can think of… I mean… I’ve only know her for like four months. Wouldn’t you guys have noticed something like that before I would?”
“Well you would think that, but well…” Matteo responded looking around at the others anxiously.
“Lillia blocked us all out of what was going on when she left before summer.” Astrologh continued were Matteo left off, “There was a big falling out on Lillia and Libryinth’s graduation day from PVT, we lost her after they fought. And since then she’s had this wall around her, locking us out completely.”
“Oh, don’t act like her wall was just put up after the fight. She started building that wall right after she got her first heat.” Brighten called out sounding pretty pissed off, “And it just got worse after that. The last two years she was at PVT she just kept stepping back away from everyone.”
“I know Bright. But still.” Astrologh said rubbing his temples.”She seams to have takin a liking to you, for some reason Lillia seams to open up more when you’re around. I’m not sure why. Or what you did to gain her trust so quickly. None the less. Has she said anything to you at all?”
Before I got the chance to answer, Hadden pushed his way out saying he had to leave, as he rushed to the door. He kept his head down, but I caught a glimpse of his eyes, they were red once again. After Hadden left, I looked back at Astrologh and said that I hadn’t seen or heard anything. Then excused myself for some fresh air, and followed Hadden outside. Buy the time I got outside I couldn’t find either Lil or Hadden. Granted it did take me a few minutes to get out with all of Lil’s brothers saying their see ya laters to me.
I looked around for either of them for a few minutes before I finally found Lil. She was sitting under a giant oak tree alone. I walked up to her and joined her under the tree. We sat in silence for a few minutes before she said anything.“It’s really peaceful out here isn’t it?” She said looking up into the trees.
“Yeah I guess it is,” I replied smiling, staring up into the trees with her.
