It had been a while since she had enrolled herself in school. The system repeated most of the same information most of the time anyway, so it wasn’t all that important after so many times. Still, Solara had a feeling she was close to finding Michael once again… The love of her life, her sole reason to continue to live on. And so, she became a student at Armorage High.
Buying herself clothes, she figured she could have a bit of fun this time around. She always did her best to fit into the trends but as of late, they weren’t much her style. She had come to love the darker style. Many people dressed in black clothes, colored their hair, styled it in such crazy and creative ways. But she loved her hair, so her clothing would be the only tribute to this fashion statement.
Solara decided to lay low with her intelligence. Having been around for so long, she knew most of history like the back of her hand. And her math and science skills were sharp as well. But getting too much recognition would not be good if she needed to relocate once again. It wasn’t easy to hide when your face was plastered everywhere as a scholar. She had just gotten to wear her hair the same as it had been in the very beginning and she wasn’t going to let that opportunity slip.
And so, the first day of school started. She threw on a fishnet long sleeve shirt with a black band tee over the top of it. Although simple, she found the combination cute. She paired that with some black jeans and combat boots. It looked amazing on her. Finally, she grabbed her backpack and her lunch, hurrying on her way to her first day of sophomore year at this new adventure.
The school was rather large, hundreds of kids attending in each grade. It was simple enough to navigate after a few of her classes. A few kids even came up to greet her since she was new.
“Hi!” A redheaded girl said. “You’re the new girl, right? What was your name again?”
“My name is Solara. I know, it’s rather exotic, isn’t it?” She smiled at the sweet girl. Usually no one came up to her like this for the first few days.
“It is! I’ve never heard anything quite like it. My name is Valarie, but you can call me Val.” She quipped. “Have you made any friends yet? I would loooove if you joined me and my girls at lunch.”
“I would love to join you, Val.” Solara jumped at the opportunity to join a group so quickly. Social status meant a lot in school and giving it up could mean not making friends.
“Perfect! My locker number is fifty-eight. Come meet me there after fifth period and I’ll show you the cafeteria.” Valerie pat her shoulder. “I can’t wait to introduce you to everyone! They’re going to love you! I’ll see you later!” The girl headed off to her next class, running into one of her friends along the way and walking with them.
This was a good start to the day… Well, the year. Making friends was half the battle and it was off to a great start.
