I noticed something. Mias’ castle (Sylvan Hall) contains a lot of nature motifs and imagery despite his family business. I thought this was strange for a member of the Wild Hunt to live in a place with a lot of greenery considering what House Dormaeus does and is known for. But then I realized. That castle was probably not made for House Dormaeus. It was probably originally made for the Green Man and his family. They have tombs with effigies of the previous Green Men, they have furniture with Green Man iconography, the castle is named Sylvan Hall (Sylvan meaning “wooded” or “forested”), the Bough Gate is a giant tree, and the people there seem to refer to Arden as “Arden of Sylvan Hall” like he is the master of the castle. Which begs the question, what the hell did the Dormaeus do to gain control of Sylvan Hall???? I think it all goes back to the events of the Arden Interlude, perhaps even further, but something went down in that Interlude that seemed to have put the Green Man and his family in danger (I don’t have access on Patreon), which is not surprising considering that the Dormaeus are hunting down Abernos and Berenos for some reason (I do have a theory that Abernos and Berenos could have a connection with Cernunnos, Lord of the Wild Things in some way and that could be why the Dormaeus are hunting them down but that’s another theory). I could just be totally wrong and Sylvan Hall is Dormaeus property all along and that’s where they come and hang out to take a break from all the murdering and smell the flowers and they sectioned off an area for the Green Man to live as their…roommate (omg they were roommates), but it just makes too much sense in my head and it could explain why Arden despises them so much (although his beef with Mias is EXTREMELY personal and I don’t know what Mias did specifically to make an enemy of a literal nature spirit and his giant dog).
Tl,dr, House Dormaeus is the Sackville-Baggins to Arden’s Bilbo Baggins.
