"You know I can't let you go home with him." Mamma Bear said setting her clipboard down in the chair next to her.
I nod, "Yeah. I figured. So where will I be staying?" I ask sitting back in my chair.
"Well...With me." I nod and smile at Mamma Bear's answer. I figured she'd push that. "We can leave whenever you're ready."
"Not till I see my Dad."
"I can't let you-"
"Not until I see my Dad," I say sternly.
"Jasmine-"
"Don't."
"Jasmine." She says stern but softly, she turns me to face her, "You can't see him, the hospital won't allow it. I won't allow it."
I frown knowing she's right. I'll just have to wait until tomorrow, "Fine."
As Taylor's mom pulls into the driveway I notice a bedroom light on. Great...I have to deal with someone else's stupid questions. "It's just Papa Bear, he's getting your bedroom ready for you." Mamma Bear reassures as she opens her car door. I slowly get out and follow her stopping as she opens the house door. She stops and looks at me, "Is she waiting for me?" As if answering my question she smiles and takes her hand off of the doorknob as Papa Bear walks down the stairs. He stops at the door and the same kind of smile as Mamma bear appears on his face. I sigh before walking up the porch.
The girl every boy wanted and every girl wanted to be only wanted the one person in the entire school who didn't want her or to be her, the quiet kid who just wants to be left alone so the day can go by without there being a total disaster like catching the attention of the whole student body because the head cheerleader likes her.
