That is what he felt the moment he awakened. Half buried underneath all the rubble surrounding him. His jet black hair was covered in debree.
A puddle of water on the ground reflected his crimson eyes, which moved around frantically. The boy was dazed from the collapse. Suddenly it dawned to him.
"My sister..."
He musters up his remaining strength. Pulling himself from underneath the rocks and tiles. The boy's left hand did all the work, his right hand however was a mess. All withered but bearing a blood-red ingraving. It would not provide any use. How did this happen?
The crimson eyed boy crawls out of the pit the collapse condemned him to. He was greeted by a sea of flames, consuming all that got in their way. Frantically glancing around, the boy sees the silhouette of whoever he was looking for. His sister.
The poor thing curled up like a newborn baby to hide away from the inferno. Her scarlet eyes reflecting the fear she harbours against the catastrophe. Desperately evading the same fate her classmates befell.
The black haired boy summons more strength and gets to his knees stepping over a withered individual. The brick walls that once hosted curtains and proud banners were now prayed upon by the collapse, doing their best to support the crumbling roof.
The scarlet eyed girl sees a hand in front of her. The left hand of the crimson eyed boy. Her eyes dartle to his withered appendage, expressing concern.
"H-He..." The boy tries to speak his sibling's name, but he failed to do so. His throat was very dry.
Instead he pulls her up with his remaining arm. The roof of the library begins to come down.
Against all odds the brother and sister break through a window. The boy's right arm touched the grass on the ground, leaving the plantlife dark and dead. His crimson eyes are filled with fear and shock. What has become of his body?
The scarlet girl tugs on the crimson boy's shoulder. They have to leave. The castle behind them crumbles and sinks in a hole of hellfire as the two narrowly escape their fate. It was as if mother nature wanted to purge what was created in that building. That was what the boy thought. He glances over at his pitch black arm that looked like it defiled the entire world with its existence. Not even the light of the flames reflected back on its surface.
"Brother," the girl tugged on his shoulder again. They look at the collapsed castle as ash begins to fall. The siblings decide it is best to move on. So much for an answer at the University. The two would have to look beyond the horizon it they wished to find a solution for their quest.
