[Langston] Kid there's no betta way to say this so I'm just gonna come out and say it. I know what happened to ya dad. 

“Yeah i'm sure he does”

 Four men walked in; they were all wearing suits just like the man from the banquet. 

“Your pops is dead kid,” the man said  nonchalantly “and if you don't wanna end up like him you’ll do what we say” one of the suits slams a document onto the table “we’ll give you til the end of the year” the suits leave.

Remi studied the paper closely. It was a document outlining payments to a company that she had never seen before,“Ursa llc”.

[Remi]  langston explain

She had clenched her fists and her voice was shaky.

[Langston] Maybe we should talk about this in the morning. Let things calm down a bit.

[remi] EXPLAIN!

Langston had a remorseful look on his face.

[Langston] there was a time where me and your father were in with some bad people. 

[Markus] a gang

[Langston] yes. We took down some  pretty powerful people and we became powerful people. We got our own small fortunes from it. And once we did we left that life behind. Used the money to start better lives for ourselves and the neighborhood. But one of our friends- no not friend he was more than that,“bear”,didn't leave. He built up his fortune and started a company. And since your father ran a business too, he made Ray pay him to make sure the place stayed safe. A week ago he said he wouldn't be paying so they killed him and now it seems  the debt falls to you.

At the end of the year Bear is going to come for his money and if not then there’ll be more memorials in the queen city.

Remi said nothing in response to hearing the story. She simply sat there unable to even process the situation. 

[Langston] I-I will leave you alone with your thoughts.

 Bruno, come on.

Bruno who hadn't said a word this whole time walked out of the place hesitating at the doors for a moment before he too left.

I on the other hand had no idea what to do. I wanted to comfort my friend but maybe she wanted to be alone. 

[Remi] what i’m i supposed to do

[Markus] Huh

There was never a time where I had seen Remi ask that question. She had always known what had to be done even during the shooting  when  I broke down into a mess she knew what to do.

She was in tears. Honestly I wanted to cry too.  I wanted to just crumble or run away from the danger in front of us.

But if I did then what would be the point of everything? I promised myself I wouldn't run.

[Markus] we'll fight,Together 

[Remi] What

She looked up at me her voice still shaky and tears in her eyes

 [Markus] I don't know completely what's going on but I'm sure we can fight it. All we need is a plan 

 Remi smiled for only a little while.  Because Even though her father wasn't there anymore he showed her that she still had someone to lean on and that was enough

I barely even believed what I was saying but she needed help and I wasn't going to crumble not again.
