"I'm here," Georgia groaned, shutting her car door. "Fine Arts hall." She lowered her phone as she angled her head upwards. The fine arts hall was big, a separate building of it's own, a little ways from the cafeteria.
She had only been inside a few times to make up for a credit she missed, and to be honest, she hated the fine arts hall. Or more specifically, the kids in it. She hated seeing teens fight over who screwed up the band practice, she hated the kid that always yelled from down the hall asking where his drum sticks were, just find out they were in his locker.
She hated the kids that were only there for the credit and to pants each other in the halls. She hated the orchestra kids because of how quirky and bossy they were.
But somehow, here she was as requested of Annabelle. The brunette had found herself obligated to help a teacher set up the chairs in the band hall. Annabelle felt that if she was obligated, so was Georgia.
"Annabelle, move that chair over a bit." Someone instructed as Georgia poked her head through the door. A teacher with his belly over his belt was pointing to a spot on the carpet. His hair was slicked back with too much gel, and his face jiggled when he talked.
Annabelle did as told, but was only met with:
"No, you dingle berry! That's too far, move it back the other way a little."
Annabelle smiled and nodded, moving the chair the slightest bit to the right. Her hands gripped the chair as she looked up to him. "Is this alright, sir?"
Georgia smiled and stepped into the room fully. "I think that looks good, don't you Mr. Will?"
He looked to her and his expression immediately melted. "Georgia, dear." He cried. "It's been so long since I've seen you!" He waved her over. "Come help us, will you?"
Annabelle scoffed and straightened up. She looked to Georgia when Mr. Will had turned around.
"Favouritism." She stuck her tongue out at the blonde. "Little miss Blondie gets all the teachers' hearts." She flinched when Mr. Will turned around, glaring at her. She held in a giggle.
"Don't let her bother you, sir." Georgia waved Annabelle off. "I'll help. Where do you want this chair?"
"You can just set it right there." He pointed to a spot only a few feet away from me. "That would be perfect."
---------
"He was bossy." Annabelle complained. "He doesn't like me, I can tell." She walked with her hands behind her head, staring up at the ceiling of the hall.
"He's just a little uptight." Georgia explained.
"Uptight in the ass. He was a complete asshole." Annabelle didn't let up.
"Well, he's just-" Georgia began, stopping when she turned the corner, bumping into a heavy shoulder. "Sorry." She mumbled, holding her nose. She had slammed face first into whoever this was.
"No problem, Blondie."
Georgia's eyes widened. "Theodora?" She grinned. "You actually came." She looked to the boxes labeled 'exam material' in the ginger's arms. "What? Did a teacher put you to work?"
She scowled at Gerorgia. "Punishment. For missing so many days." She barked back.
Georgia's grin widened and she slapped a box as she passed. "You look cute doing grunt work, ginger." She waved. "Don't make it a habit, missing so many days, I mean."
Theodora scoffed, rolled her eyes, but let Georgia walk on by.
Once Georgia and Annabelle were out of earshot, Annabelle elbowed Georgia in the side.
"Oh my god, did you tame her or something? She was quiet, no fists involved or anything!" Annabelle smiled, her eyes hysterical. "You've got her on a tight leash, don't you?"
"She's not on a leash." Georgia glanced back to the hall they just came from. Theodora was gone. "I guess she doesn't want to lose her personal nurse by being an ass. Smart choice."
Annabelle laughed. "You're a personal nurse now, huh?"
Georgia just shrugged, ignoring Annabelle's wiggling eyebrows.
-------
Georgia tapped on the window quickly, smiling when Theodora frowned at her. Georgia sighed with relief when warm air hit her, she had been outside for too many minutes.
"What are you doing here? It's late." Theodora growled, moving aside as Georgia climbed through. "And I never said you could come back."
Georgia ignored her, emptying her purse onto the bed. "I brought more bandages, we need to change them out. You can't let them get too dirty." She lifted up the bandages. "Sit down."
Theo complied and sat down, taking her shirt off to allow the blonde to bandage all of her wounds.
Again, there were soft "sorry"s and quiet "it's okay"s every time Georgia pressed to hard.
"You're so rough." Theodora complained, hissing as Georgia pressed rubbing alcohol into a cut.
Georgia laughed, tapping her skin with a cotton ball. "Says the fighter."
Once she was done, Georgia backed up, letting Theo slip her shirt back on. She tossed everything back into her purse. She looked to Theo who had migrated to a desk as she zipped up her purse.
"What's that?" Georgia asked, leaning over Theo's shoulder. She squinted at the papers thrown on the desk. It was hard to see with only a small desk lamp.
"Missed work." Theo replied flatly.
Georgia laughed and climbed onto the back of Theo's chair, resting her feet on Theo's arm rests. "You sound so excited."
Theo sighed, letting her pencil fall onto her desk. "What are you still doing here?" She snapped her head upwards to look at the blonde who leaned over her.
"I just came to hangout." Georgia smiled.
Theo frowned, staring up at her. "Well, if you're going to stay, at least be useful and help me with this." She slapped her hand on her work. "Stupid pre-cal."
"Ooh," Georgia hummed. "I can help." She took the pencil, leaning further over Theo. "I love math, it's the easiest subject."
Theo pulled a face. "Who actually likes math? It's gross." She watched as Georgia scribbled what she saw as nonsense on some scratch paper.
"Me." Georgia answered. "Now, focus. See this? So this synthetic division and basically all you have to do is..."
-----
Theo worked a few of the last problems, occasionally looking over at the notes Georgia had made. It was helpful. She understood it, so it was progress.
"Blondie, check this really quick. I think I-" She turned to Georgia who had been unexpectedly quiet the last few minutes.
Theo frowned at the blonde who sat asleep with her head on the desk. She poked her with the end of her pencil. "Hey, wake up. No one told you that you could fall asleep."
Georgia's eyes fluttered open and she stared at Theo for a moment before turning her head the other way. "Screw off." She mumbled.
"Don't you wanna go home? What about school tomorrow?" Theodora raised a brow. "You going to go to school in the same clothes?"
Georgia groaned. "Screw school. I'm not going."
Theo laughed. "You don't mean that. You look like someone who couldn't live without school."
Georgia sighed, rising up off the desk. "Why do you make sense?" She stood, stumbling towards Theo's bed to grab her purse. "I know I need to go home." She whined. "My aunt's going to kill me."
Theo pushed Georgia near the window. "Go home, loser."
I have a joke for you, dear reader.
What do you get when two idiots who see each other as amusing, yet annoying toys use each other to benefit in their own ways, only to end up falling head over heels for one another?
An idiotic "enemies" to lovers story.
Funny joke, right?
Georgia wants to be less boring, Theodora just wants to graduate and disappear.
