I woke up next to Robyn. They changed out of the dress and were wearing some of my clothes. My clothes were baggy on them but they were the smallest one in our relationship. I kissed the top of their head and looked at the alarm clock on my dresser. It was only about eight in the morning and the orientation started at one in the afternoon. It was Lapis’ first year there. He seemed very excited, just like a kid on their first snow. It was cute that he was happy to go to school with us. Since Robyn is asleep, I guess I will tell you how I met Lapis. Besides, this isn’t in any rush.
Lapis was on the football team with my brother, Axton. He was also a theater kid like Axel. I met him at one of the football games and he caught my eyes. It was halftime and Axton saw me in the crowd. It was one of the first football games I've been to since I was normally busy. I even bought Robyn and Julia with. We were in the first row. Axton ran over to us and looked at me. His eyes had lit up and he shouted, “Coach, can my brother sit on the bench with us?” The coach looked at me and nodded. I don’t know how or even why but Axton lifted me out of the beachers. “What are you doing here?” he asked, still holding me up in the air. “Supporting your game. Dad canceled my event and I wanted to see you play,” I said. His eyes teared up and he put me down. “Why did he cancel?” he asked. “I told him to. Mom convinced him to let me come and watch. I even bought Robyn and Julia,” I said. The two waved and Axton waved back. “Thanks bro. You can sit next to Lapis until the game starts up again. I’m going to find Miranda and tell her the good news,” he said. “Lapis?” I asked. A boy with unique colored eyes raised his hand. “That’s Lapis. He’s one of the best players on the team. Go and talk to him. He reminds me of you,” Axton said, patting me on the shoulder.
He ran off to the cheerleaders and I sat next to the taller boy. “So you’re Lapis?” I asked. “Yeah, I am,” he said, taking off the helmet. His hair was strawberry blond and curly. He was very pretty. His eyes were one of the prettiest things I had ever seen. One was white and the other was silver blue. One thing I learned is that his white eye turns yellow and the silver one and silvery purple in specific lighting. “What happened to your eyes?” I asked. “Hm? Oh why is one white? I think it was a mutation of some sort,” he said. “Oh. It looks really cool. I have never seen it before,” I said. “Oh, so you weren't making fun of me?” he asked. “No! Your eyes are really cool,” I said. “Th-Thanks man. I really appreciate it. You’re Axel’s look-a-like, right?” he asked. “Yeah,” I said. “Why haven’t I seen you before? I mean…I never noticed you here at this school,” he said. “Oh- I don’t go here. I’m in college,” I said.
“Oh, that’s cool! What year?” he asked. “It’s my first year currently,” I said. “Cool, can I get your number? I mean- if you don’t mind, I think you’re cool and I want to hang out with you again,” he said. “Sure,” I said. He handed me his phone and I typed in my number. I know it seems weird to give your number to a stranger, but he knows my brother. My dad had me go to every game after that. He loved seeing Axton so happy and he was winning all his games.
Then it was the championship. Lapis and I were on the bench at halftime. Then he kissed me. Axton saw it and so did my lovers. When he pulled away, he started to apologize to me for kissing me. “Kiss him back, you dunce!” I heard Julia shout. I kissed him back and I heard Axton clapping for us and so was everyone else. “Let go, Ash,” Axton shouted, cheering me on. I pulled away and he asked me out in front of everyone. “Yes. Say yes,” I heard Robyn say. I did say yes and Axton lifted me on his shoulders. One of the other players lifted Lapis up. “Let’s go, Tigers!” they started to chant. We won the championship and every one after that. I also went to every game with Julia and Robyn to cheer on my brother and his team. That had become the norm for us to go to the games and cheer the team on.
