Gavin absolutely hated clowns. They were creepy and terrifying to him. He tried to stay away from clowns as much as possible. But when Nines offered to take him out on a date it seemed innocent enough. Until he realized where they were going. “Oh hell no.” Gavin shook his head, Nines seemed confused. “Huh?” Nines looked over at him from the drivers seat. “I’m not going in there.” Gavin cringed. “Why?” Nines asked, curiosity filling his tone. “Because, there’s clowns. And I hate clowns.” Gavin crossed his arms as Nines parked the car, he turned it off. “It’s alright, Gavin. No one’s going to hurt you while I’m here.” He puts his hand on Gavin’s thigh, sending chills up his spine. Gavin huffed. “Why can’t we just stay in here..” he looked at Nines. “You agreed to this, Reed.” Nines said, he slides his hand off of Gavin’s thigh, which elicited a quiet whimper from the short man. “I agreed to a date! I didn’t know you were gonna take me to a fucking carnival!” Gavin grumbled, he got out of the car and zipped up his jacket. Nines got out and closed the door, locking the car, he shoved the keys into his pocket and zipped the pocket. “Shall we?” Nines walked over to Gavin and held out his hand. “Whatever.” Gavin huffed and took Nines’s hand, interlacing their fingers together. Nines showed the front gate manager two tickets and they were allowed inside. The android looked around, his LED spinning yellow as he analyzed the carnival. There was a giant ferris wheel, a couple of those spin rides, a medium sized rollercoaster, some food & drink stands and a dozen game stands.
Gavin looked around, he walked over to one of the game stands. “Let’s start with this.” He looked up at Nines, who smiled and nodded. Gavin gave the stand attendee some money and the man handed him a baseball. “Hm.” He tried his best aim it at the bowling pin, but it missed. “Oh, nice try.” The attendee said, handing him another ball. “Let me try, Gavin.” Nines requested, Gavin handed Nines the ball. Nines aimed at the bowling pins and knocked all of them down. “Nice.” Gavin smiled and playfully nudged Nines. “I am a highly advanced AI, Gavin. I can hit a few bowling pins with ease.” Nines picked up the other two balls and hit the other two pins perfectly. “Nice!” The attendee smiled. “Which one?” The man pointed to the array of stuffed animals. There was a cat that looked like Cleopatra, a dog, a snake and a tiger. “The cat.” Nines requested, the attendee grabbed the cat and handed it to Nines, they walked away from the stand. “It kinda looks like Cleo.” Gavin held the stuffed animal. “Mhm.” Nines smiled and kissed Gavin’s cheek. “Don’t do that-“ He huffed. “Not in public.” He held the stuffed animal. Nines frowned but nodded. Gavin and Nines went on a few rides and played some games (not that kind of game). At 7pm they left, and Nines made Gavin dinner when they got back to the apartment. After dinner they cuddled on the couch watching TV.
