Just like with the birth of Nora and Steven, Pearl was being possessive of Greg and Rose’s third geode. And, with Rose unable to mediate the situation, things were becoming heated. But, Greg was putting his foot down; he didn’t need Pearl’s permission to hold the geode. Pearl, on the other hand was demanding the geode back.
What had she done?! When Pearl had tried to snatch it away from Greg, the tiny geode fell to the floor with a deafening clink. Greg frantically scooped up the geode, his face paling in horror. Along the once pristine shell was a long, hairline crack.
