A Cracking Crystal:
Ugh…
My eyes can barely even see but, my vision of where I lie is oddly sound, as if nothing is off.
Touching my eyes I realise that rain has been pouring on me, how great.. I can also see something, the noise of distant scream, it’s just two or so meters to my right.
It looks like something has happened…From what I can make out it just seems to be a young teenage girl, with her head seemingly ripped off.
As more of the town’s people came to see what had happened, I noticed that people seemed to be drawn to me.
They walk up as if I’m a monster, I can just see the looks of terror on the children’s faces…It’s making me sick.
Not all are in fear though, a few officers have walked towards me. They ask things like “Who are you?” “Why do you have blood on you?” “Did you see what happened?”
I try to answer them, but as if my mouth is zipped shut, they shut me down in an instant, saying that I should just go home, or that I’m not useful anymore. I don’t get it though..I saw what happened…And…I don’t have a home..
They start to leave me alone, diverting the crowd back to where they were. As I got up a small teddy bear drops from my lap , onto the hard concrete below me. I think hard about how it’s far away, as if it were falling into a ditch or a hole, which makes my spine chill. As I’m going to pick it up to stop myself from having a fit, the officers shout at me to stop. “You there! Ma’am or sir, you have the right to remain still!”
‘I don’t get it…’ I tell them “You clearly are involved in this crime scene! We can see the sweat on you!”I still don’t think they understand, that was given to me…by the girl…the one who’s head is open over there.
I told them that too, but they just told me to get lost. But I still was in fear, the bear whilst staying still, looked as if it were forever far away from my reach. I just wanted to move it. That’s all. I moved closer to it but they kept on shouting at me. I ended up leaving despite my mind in a state of fear, as long as I didn’t look at it I would be fine. I got about 12 miles away, stopping for some air, I looked at myself in a window. As I stared deeper I could see myself from earlier in the day.
I was lying down, my my body in pain from people I saw 2 weeks ago, or was it 2 months..or..no it was 2 weeks ago. I was looking up at a statue, of…a gargoyle? I think that’s how they’re pronounced. They look amazing to me. So I was lying down, looking at this gargoyle, praying to it even, hoping it would hear me. During this time I reflected on people’s attitudes towards me, and, I thought that, if I were to become a gargoyle, people would respect me more. So that’s what I did. I became one. Just on the pavement. No one noticed me as much as normal, but people were a lot more warm towards me, especially this girl. She looked scared and worried, I told her that everything’s going to be okay. She was scared by this, but was still kind, she asked me where I lived, who I was. I answered saying My name is Delusional, and I’m a demon. She seemed interested in me. I started to feel like I could trust her. So I went ahead and became normal. To my shock she found me looking better in my normal form.
We went about our day talking about random things, but she soon departed to her parents. Later on she was in a car, with someone who cared and loved for her. Her parents weren’t in the car as they were off to work by now. The person with her seemed to care a great deal about the girl. She even gave him her little bear teddy. They started to talk more, more like they were talking out of their direct thoughts than anything. A romance was blooming like a pretty flower. The boy leaned in for a kiss. The girl was getting red, and also leaned in to kiss him. However, his mouth started to pull out the strains of hair on her head, slowly going into her head, and then her brain. He ate it all up, with the top of her head gone into him.
The driver also saw this, and panicked. He attempted to just drive faster and swerve so the man was either launched out of the window, which had been broken due to the girl being smashed against it, or hit a lamppost and kill him. But when he looked to see the man nothing was there. He looked at the front mirror to double-check, but there he saw his eyes, glowing yellow, with a thin line as the pupil, these were the eyes of the man who he wanted to be gone. The car then crashed into a lamppost, and the driver was soon killed.
The man got out of the car, unharmed. Not many people had seen what happened as this was before the morning truly began. The person then looked over at a window in an empty shop, with a smile on his face and happy pupils and eyes, he lifted up the teddy bear he got, sat down, and waited, waiting for something to happen.
This story was really interesting to write because it focuses on the life of a more or less self-aware person who could be seen as using the crystal as a sort of drug in a sense. This is fun to do because it was more on the general life of this story’s possessed person , and I really enjoyed the murder-mystery element to it. I think the twisted romance this person has was very fun to write. Although I’m not too keen to watch or read that, it’s really fun to write about. Also, this was special as (in this moment) the story is being made into an animatic with narration of the story on my YouTube channel, which has been really fun to do so far and I can’t wait for it to be finished. [Note: This was written in 2021, it still hasn’t been finished, but I might do it one day.]
This series has been really fun to do.
But, the story doesn’t end here..
..In the second vol., with:
The Cracking Crystal Part 5-With its main character: Lily Rose. [coming eventually.]
