1 week later
In the past week my routine had been pretty much the same everyday, I just stayed in the house with Cole, I didn’t bother going out again after what happened last week. Cole is as adorable as ever but he is a lot more clingy, he won’t let me put him down not even for a second. I have to be holding him at all times or he will cry and not stop until he’s in my arms, it’s pretty ridiculous.
“Cole,” I said softly as I held him in my arms on the couch. When Cole heard me say his name, he looked straight into my eyes.
“Are you going to let me put you down for a minute?” I asked. “I need to use the bathroom,”
I held out my hand and Cole put his hand in mine to mean ‘yes’.
“Good,” I placed him on the couch, I put cushions around him so he wouldn’t fall off while I was in the bathroom.
“I’ll be back in a minute,” I said before running to the bathroom with full speed. It’s weird Vampires use the toilet, when I was little I didn’t understand why we do or how we can because our bodies are dead. I’m also glad Cole doesn’t have to wear a nappy and for me to change it when he does his business, that’s all taken care of with the special pants he wears. When he does his business, the pants disintegrate. I’m glad for that because it would be awkward for me and embarrassing for Cole to have me change him. Bathing him is different, I don’t mind and Cole doesn’t mind either so it’s all good.
When I was done in the bathroom, I went back to Cole who put his arms out to me to be held. I sighed and pulled him into my arms so he was facing me.
“What am I going to do with you eh? You hate being out of my arms don’t you?” I asked. Cole only gazed into my eyes with love. That is so weird when he is a baby and it’s like he already loves me. I already love him too but that’s creepy with him looking at me like that all the time.
“You know you won’t be a baby for much longer and you won’t be able to be in my lap all day, then what will you do?” I asked. Cole obviously didn’t answer and just continued gazing into my eyes with his blue ones. I’ll miss his blue eyes, when he is a man again they will be black because he is a Demon. I sat Cole in my lap and so he was facing away from me, I can’t have him staring at me all the time.
I decided to give Diago a call because I was bored with being indoors all week. I pulled out the card with the number on that Diago had given me and dialled it into my phone. I was taken straight to voicemail. He must be busy, I’ll try again later.
“Cole do you mind if we go out in the garden?” I asked. Cole put his hand in mine to mean ‘yes’ so I happily went out into the garden for some fresh air.
The garden is ginormous. The floor is all bricks and empty except for a table and chairs which are covered by a massive umbrella so there is no mud, grass or flowers which is a shame but at least I can walk around for a bit.
After a bit of walking, I took a seat at one of the chairs. It’s a sunny day so I might as well sit out here for a bit.
A few minutes later, my phone began ringing. It’s an unknown number.
“Hello?” I asked when I answered the call.
“Hi, I got a call from this number about 15 minutes ago,” said a very familiar voice, it sounds like Diago.
“Diago is that you?” I asked.
“Yes, who’s that?” Diago replied.
“It’s Tegan,”
“Tegan, as in Cole’s wife?”
“Yes. I called you because I was wondering if you could show me around the neighbourhood,”
“I would love to show you around but wouldn’t it be best for Cole to show you around when he changes back, I don’t think he would like me around you whilst he is in a small form?”
“I guess you’re right but I’m incredibly bored stuck inside,” I whined.
“I’m sure it won’t be for much longer, Cole should be a man again soon and he can take you out,”
“I hope you’re right,”
“Apart from the boredom is everything going fine with you two?” Diago asked casually.
“Yes it’s going fine but I can’t wait for Cole to be a man again,”
“So what’s Cole like then?” I asked curiously.
“Let me think........... He’s a right handful, you’ll be lucky if you manage to spend a day with him as a man,”
“Why?”
“He’s a very wild Demon, very dangerous if you mess with him,”
“I’m his wife, he wouldn’t do anything to hurt me,”
“I know but be careful,” Diago warned.
“Are you saying he would hurt me?” I asked.
“Maybe if you’re not careful,”
“Why didn’t anyone tell me this before?”
“Because Cole is Cole. He will get what he wants when he wants. If you’d have known what he was like then you wouldn’t have agreed to this marriage,”
“I can’t believe this Diago, what if he hurts me?” I looked at Cole, who seemed to have an angry and guilty look on his face but still had a look of love for me.
“He won’t hurt you ever, he loves you,” Diago said confidently.
“How can you be so sure?”
“Because I know him, he is mean to everyone including me his best friend but he’s different around you, he loves you. I saw the way he was around you, he was clingy which means you’re special to him and he won’t hurt you,” Diago assured me.
“I hope you’re right,”
“I hope I am right,” Diago agreed by which time Cole looked really angry with a red face but he still looked adorable.
“Um Diago?” I asked.
“Yes?”
“I think you should hang up now, Cole looks very angry,”
“Shit,” Diago cursed.
“He’s going to kill me. I shouldn’t have said anything,” Diago began to panic.
“He won’t hurt you while I’m around and I’m glad you told me what Cole is like,” I said.
“I really shouldn’t have told you, he will definitely kill me,”
“He won’t,”
“He will. You don’t know him like I do,” Diago disagreed.
“I’m going to hang up now before his anger gets worse ok? Bye,” Diago said quickly.
“Bye,” I said before I hung up.
“Is it true? Are you mean to everyone? Are you dangerous?” I asked Cole. He hesitated before putting his hand in mine to agree.
“Oh my god! What Diago said was right, you’re going to hurt me aren’t you?” I asked him in fear. Cole didn’t put his hand in mine to agree so maybe he won’t hurt me. I will find out when he is a man again.
“You better not hurt me, if you do then you’ll never see me again,” I warned him. Cole began to sob.
“Don’t give me those crocodile tears, it won’t get you out of every little thing,” I told Cole and he immediately stopped crying.
“I thought so,”
“Now you will sit here on your own for a bit and you will not cry,” I told him firmly. “If you don’t then I won’t hold you for the rest of the day, understand?”
Cole put his hand in mine in agreement as I set him down on the couch where he remained quiet. He looked sad and regretful. I know it was harsh of me but what Diago told me is troubling, Cole is a mean person to others but I will hopefully teach him some manners.
After a while, I picked Cole up into my arms.
“Good boy,” I kissed his cheek, Cole’s face immediately lit up.
“Now let’s get you some dinner,” I said before heading off to the kitchen.
