Jacob's whole body won't stop trembling at the overwhelming sight of blood that surrounds Zora. Natsuki was long dead and her lifeless body after being sucked dry was thrown off the side as if it was garbage.
The two young men that Natsuki brought with her were not much better than the state Natsuki is in. They were innocent and were just following the orders of their superior to serve their guests but it never occured to them that tonight will be their last. Their bodies were also sucked dry, their blood became at the disposal of the well-known mana wielder who have control over blood and shape it however she wishes.
But seeing as how the bloodlust coming from this abominable monster in front of him only thickens as time passes by means that it's thirst hasn't been satiated just yet.
"Z-Zora..."
He heard Zora crack her neck and stretch it when she heard her name. The monster seems to still understand his words and this gave Jacob hope to still have the chance to negotiate with the maddened Zora.
"Zora, p-please calm down. I-I didn't meant f-for this to happen. You... I— I made a terrible mistake! It was all a mistake! So please... please... don't hurt innocent people anymore."
Zora's head twitch in response and Jacob seeing her reaction was beginning to have faith that Zora can still be reasoned to.
But even though Zora herself wanted to take control over her own body. Her powers was too overwhelming and it was as if she was in a quicksand, unable to climb back up to regain her sanity.
The smell of blood made her crazy and the smell of more fresh blood, ready to be devoured made her even more wild. It was hunger that she could not stop by just her own willpower. It was a stronger need to go on a rampage and destroy everything in her path.
Including the man in front of her.
She smiled at him, blood dripping in between her teeth and her crimson eyes glowed like a burning flame while looking at her next meal.
"Inno... cent? Y-You...? Who... the fuck... were y-you... kidding?"
Zora takes a step towards Jacob and Jacob who was taken aback by her words tried to crawl his way out but the sliding door behind him won't budge. Left with no way of escape, Jacob with his clumsy and trembling hands reached for his sword, unsheathes it and pointed the other end towards Zora.
The hell flower, Zora, was not the least intimidated by Jacob's vain display of courage. If anything else, she was disappointed to think that the man in front of her, who she thought was someone she could call a 'friend' betrayed her because of a reason she could not fully understand.
War did change the both of them.
Or maybe, it only changed him but not her.
Zora thought of this but knowing how useless will these thoughts be after she is done with her powers going on a rampage and dying because of severe blood loss along with the deficiency of mana that she will exchange for this short while of wanting to vent her anger, pain and frustrations. She pushed the questions in her mind that she wanted to ask Jacob aside.
There is no more reason for her to hold back. No more reason to have faith in hoping that she can go back to being sane.
This is her curse and also her gift.
And all she can think of is after this—
—Death will be bliss.
"Zora... please d-don't do this!"
His begging falls on deaf ears as Zora raises her hand. Particles of blood and a crimson light surrounds Zora as she wields her power. The blood particles solidifies and slowly takes the shape of a long sword, ready to take her enemy's life at her command.
"Too late... for mercy... I-I'll apologize... in h-hell... Jacob."
Jacob realizing that he is already at the doorstep of death's door, tightens his grip on his sword, his eyes shook as he looks in utter despair at the figure of the monster in front of him and with all the strength and courage that he has left. He planted his feet on the ground firmly and with haste attacked Zora with one swift move.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"
His battlecry was heard loud and clear by Zora and she closes her eyes waiting for his sword to reach her.
The sword penetrated Zora's skin and then her bones. She felt a slight pain in her abdomen but it was almost non-existent because of how numb her whole body felt. Zora can smell the trembling man's fear as if he was fear itself but she commends him for having the courage to take up his sword and fight her to the death instead of running away with his tails between his legs.
She let Jacob have his chance but the show was over and it was time for her to bid him goodbye.
The long sword created by the blood of her and the people she killed slashed Jacob's body in half without much trouble. It was as if a knife cutting through butter, and the room dripping in blood in all four corners grew silent. Zora stood still for a moment and looked at the corpse of whom she considered a friend. She was sure, she was supposed to feel something. Sadness, anguish, or perhaps regret?
But there was none. She was empty, there were even no tears for her to shed and it felt like her mind was drifting off somewhere. Somewhere far from this place that she made a bloodbath.
Her feet started moving on it's own once she smelled something delicious. There were more of the fresh blood she consumed surrounding her, and she can almost hear their ragged breathing. They were waiting for the signal from their benefactor but the mercenaries were having their own doubts in their ability seeing how their employer, Jacob and Natsuki died in the most brutal way possible in the hands of the hell flower.
Some of them even thought of running away but they know that once they do so, death also awaits them because they have abandoned their duty and pride as mercenaries.
But this is a matter of life and death. They have families to go home to and some of them were too young to die, too early to be buried six feet under. If they are even going to be buried and not become food for the beast that they are about to face.
The hell flower kept on moving forward, destroying the door that kept her inside the room.
"AAAAAAAAAH! A MONSTER!"
"WHAT IN THE WORLD—?!"
People who saw her were all in a state of panic, they ran away screaming but those who fail to do so has their life completely drained out of them.
"NO!NO! HELP! AAAAAAAAAH!!!"
"ANYBODY HELP ME!"
"NO STOP! I DON'T WANT TO—"
"A MONSTER! A MONSTER!"
Zora was completely unhinged. She was no longer in a state to be reasoned with. No longer understanding between what was right and wrong, no longer seeing who was the innocent and the sinner. All she knows was that she needs to consume blood, and that slaughtering humans that comes across her path was a need to satisfy her need for vengeance and hunger.
