"That's why I love your mom more than you," he said and looked at William" And you? What are you doing here?"

             William widened his eyes and looked around as if he was looking for someone. He then looked at me and pointed at himself. "Is she talking to me?" - I rolled my eyes.

            "No shit Sherlock, who am I looking at? "-They laughed.-" Its usual for me to be here on a regular basis, but you? It's a miracle to find you here, so close to Elias and alive for more than-" she looked at her invisible watch - "6 MINUTES? That's a record "- She winked at him.

            "My dad is out of the city and Mom had an emergency with Gramps, so I will be staying here for a while..." –  he looked at me and smiled, to what I just sighed and got up. – "Hey, you're not done with your breakfast."

            "I don't want any more " - I picked up the plate and cup walked to the kitchen with William following me. - " What?"

            "You barely ate anything. Are you okay?" – He walked up to me, and I had to look up to be able to see his face.- "Listen, don't meddle with my stuff or with what I do. Just because you're here doesn't mean we have to act like best buddies. So, go about your day as you usually do, and I will do the same " - I stepped back and quickly washed the plate and cup. - "So if you excuse me," - I walked past him and grabbed Yury by her arm. - " let's go."

            "What happened?" - she said as we walked out. I stayed silent and kept walking. She seemed to understand the situation and yelled, - "Bye Emma! See ya later!"

We walked out and sat on the sidewalk to wait for Andrew. I looked down at my shoes, they were a little worn out, but they felt comfortable still, so why throw them away? I softly tapped a rock, and it moved a little bit. Yury cleared her throat trying to get my attention. I simply kept looking down.

            "Anything you wanna tell me?" – she asked softly. I turned to see her, and she was looking up to the sky, the sun was hitting her face, and her eyes were lost on a specific spot beyond the clouds. I looked up too. The sky was clear. There were barely any visible clouds, the breeze was soft, everything was calm as if nature itself was trying to soothe me. Since it was a weekend, there was not a lot of traffic nearby. The neighborhood is known to be habituated by veterans whose children barely visit them.

            "Not really "– I simply shrugged and looked to my shoes once again –" his mom left town, and you know mom already, he'll be staying for a while, a short time, I hope so at least." 

            "And are you okay with this whole situation? I mean is not like you really have a say in this, knowing Emma, but how are you feeling?" – she looked at me, and I could see she was worried.

            "Yeah" – I said vaguely –" it's just for a few days, and it's been a while, I'm fine, don't worry" – I softly pushed her with my elbow to what she giggled – "if anything I know I can call you or drop by Andrew's place."

            "That's true" – she nodded and looked at my shoes – "man, those are some old ass shoes, why are you still wearing them? I'm surprised how they still fit, oh wait" - she paused, I looked at her and knew what was coming - " I almost forgot you have grown since you were nine" – she laughed I forced a laugh mimicking hers.

            "Ha ha! Funny! You talk as if you are six foot three; you are only a few inches taller, barely!. – I pushed her. When she was about to hit me, a car stopped in front of us, the window was lowered, and a guy with shades looked at us.

            "M'lady"– he said as he slightly lowered his glasses and looked at her – and Elias.  Your chauffeur has arrived " – he winked and smirked.

            "Andrew! You sure took your time" – I got up and wiped my pants in case any dirt or grass got on them. I gave my hand to Yury to help her up. She copied my movement and walked towards the backseats. I walked around and got on the passenger side – "did your mom give you a hard time?" – I gave him a hug and sat back.

            "Nothing out of the ordinary. She saw Yury by the pharmacy with her girlfriend, and you know how she gets." – he shook his head and fixed his shades –"she went full-on bible on me, you don't have to worry about her, my dad and her have been having issues so her mind is hyperfixiated on that" – he went over me and pulled the passenger to the front – "Sorry, my cousin took the car while I was out, I don't even want  to know what she did here." - he looked at me a few inches away from my face - "but don't worry the car was washed inside and out" - he must've noticed the look of horror on my face, to what I smiled. He sat back and fixed his hair that was slightly covering his eyes. 

            "Ew man, don't give us mental images please" – Yury complained  from the backseat with a disgusted look on her face and shivered. - " I don't even like them to begin with" - she dramatically rolled her eyes - " Where are we going today?" - she said leaning over.

            "I don't know" –  he shrugged and spaced out for a few seconds. Then he suddenly looked at me and smiled widely revealeling his braces – "The beach maybe" – I love how can he read my mind.

 Yury squealed and sat back tapping her feet. I simply turned on the radio to what we started singing along immediately, and to the beach we go.
